I decided on the Modesto location since the Manteca one is a bit more on the smaller side. I'm always on the hunt for a good authentic ham torta . I want to say they almost got it just like my small hometown tortas in Mexico . The pepper jack cheese and mayo tossed it off track . Get rid of the melted cheese and use crema Mexicana and it will be more up my alley. With that said it's still super yummy . It was served with a side of white sauce . I still don't know what it was . It tasted like mayo mixed with something else . 4 for the torta! I also went with a shaken brown sugar espresso it was a tad bit on the bland side but tasted refreshing enough. 3 . Service was decent . Straight to business and I totally prefer it that way . There was a simple greeting and then the order . I did have to clean my table before I sat down and there were other clean tables but I wanted the corner one . 3 min after I sat down the other tables were being wiped down so they are on top of the cleaning ! When I first went to Con Azucar around last year, the food, drinks, and service were actually really good. Everything was timely, professional, and enjoyable. Unfortunately, it seems like the quality of the service has really deteriorated over the past year. I went in on Sunday, May 10, 2026 around 7:30 PM just wanting to order two drinks and a sandwich. There were already customers ahead of me, and it took over 10 minutes just for them to finish taking those orders. By the time I finally got to the register and tried to order, I was told they couldn't make the sandwich because they had already turned off the stove. That honestly made no sense to me. If the restaurant is still open and there are customers still inside waiting to order, it should be expected that people are going to order food and drinks because that is literally the point of the restaurant. What made it worse is that they never announced any kind of "last call" or warned customers that the kitchen was shutting down. That felt really unprofessional and not something I experienced there before. We still ordered two drinks: an horchata and a chai with oat milk. The horchata was fine, but the chai was made incorrectly with almond milk instead of oat milk, and it tasted extremely bitter and bad. Since it was so close to closing time by then, we couldn't realistically go back in to have it corrected. So overall, we drove out there expecting food and drinks, and ended up with no sandwich, one decent drink, and one bad drink that was made incorrectly. It feels like the professionalism and customer service have gone downhill. In my opinion, it shouldn't matter what time customers come in as long as the business is still open because the service and quality should remain consistent. Response to owner: Thank you for the response and for offering to replace the drink. I do appreciate that. However, I still feel like the situation could have been handled much better. Before even coming into the café, I was trying to place the exact sandwich and drink order through DoorDash and the app was still allowing the order to go through. Because of that, there was no indication anywhere that hot food orders had already stopped for the night. If ovens are routinely shut down early, I really think customers should be clearly informed either online, on DoorDash, or with an announcement inside the café. I also do not necessarily agree that this is standard across cafés. Other places that serve sandwiches and drinks, like Panera, still prepare food orders even 30 minutes to an hour before closing as long as they are still open. From a customer perspective, if a business is open and accepting orders, it is reasonable to expect the menu items being advertised are still available unless stated otherwise. My main frustration was not just the sandwich itself, but the overall experience. We waited in line for quite a while, were not informed ahead of time that food service had ended, and then one of the drinks was also made incorrectly. It just made the whole visit feel disorganized and disappointing compared to the good experiences I had there previously. I do appreciate the response and willingness to make things right, but I still think clearer communication and more consistency in service would help avoid situations like this for future customers. read more

Love their multi-Latin flavored coffees hot/iced with a picture of your favorite Disney character or Mexican icon. Their torta de jamón is delicious with chipotle dip on the side. Went on a Tuesday late afternoon. It was pretty slow but constant traffic. On 10th St. across from Doubletree and Fuzio Bistro. Parked in the garage right across for $1.25 per hr. Pricey! I came here with my mom and daughter and our total was over $50 for avocado toast, 3 drinks, and a concha. The concha was dry and nothing special- certainly not worth the $3 they charged for it. Everything was just OK. My daughter got a decaffeinated duvalin drink and didn't finish it because it wasn't good. I got a mazapan latte and it was not great either. I've been going to the Modesto location since they opened. The last 3 times the bread has been hard and today I asked if she could check that the bread is soft. She came back to the register with 2 bags. I trusted her paid for them and left, 10 minutes later we eat a bread and they're hard and dry. This place is not as good as it used to be. They should be selling the bread I bought as day old. People will know it's not fresh and expect it to be dry and stale. read more

Went here for the first time today. The decor was very beautiful. The location is a bit small (I thought is was going to be a bit larger). I was so excited about coming here and that we found it but that excitement went out the window as soon as we got to the register to order. The girl working the register didn't even say "Hi" or even acknowledge us after we said "Hello". She was writing a name on a cup as we were standing there. I get that she was busy but the least she could do was say "Hi" and just let us know she would be with us shortly. Even after she was done writing on the cup, she ignored us like the plague. No complaints there. However, I will say the staff needs a lot of work on hospitality. Since it is a newer location, you should have more enthusiastic employees. When we entered we did not get greeted which is fine. The girl at the register did not say a word she just looked at us. We told her it was our first time so we needed a minute to look at the menu.
