While I have lost some data on devices, I do have case records from Apple and the MDM service providers. That particular profile was a hidden one that was rather hard to detect. I find this incredibly alarming. They say, there is no such thing as free, who knows what "free shipping and evaluations" may be costing you or if information is being sold to data brokers or elsewhere. I had lots of data leaked and compromised, but I'm not able to verify the sources. I can confirm, I was informed they could not recover data on a device and that there were hidden profiles signed by the company on my devices. I suggest being cautious if you have any personal or professional sensitive information whatsoever.
