By far the best computer repair store in the region. I came in with my Sony VAIO, it was 7 years old and the hard drive was literally gone but the problems were more than that and I thought I lost everything and would have to go get a new one. But Computer Runner saved me a trip to Best Buy and fixed my VAIO. My VAIO is now running as if it was a laptop made this year. I could go beyond 5 stars because not only was the quality of the repair so top notch but the customer service was immaculate. Sam and Scott were the ones who took immense care with my laptop and it was clear they have a passion for computers. I wasn't very hopeful when I brought my 8 year old computer in. I knew the power supply was giving me problems, and the hard drive was acting up. I was astounded when I was told that the computer was ready, and the price was more than reasonable. These guys even replaced diodes in the power supply rather than replacing it with a new expensive one. I would happily recommend repair by the Computer Runner. Great work for a great price. I have been using Computer Runner the last year or so from repair to networking services and each time I was treated with VIP treatments. The fee is very reasonale and best of all the fast service, they seem to be always available when I needed them. Computer Runner diagnose the problem for free and always gave me a chance to authorized the price before they start the repair, one other time they even gave me the option to order parts myself if I feel that I can get better pricing, but end-up they were able to get the same part, the same merchant for much less and the saving was pass on to me. Took my laptop that I use for work here. Had a broken keyboard and Sam went out of his way to fix it for me. The replacement keyboard was hard to find but Sam kept checking his vendors until he was able to find one for me. Replacing a laptop keyboard is a difficult process but they got it done at a really fair price. I thought I was not going to be able to use my nice laptop anymore but they fixed it and now it's good as new. I would highly recommend using computer runners for all your computer needs. read more

Words cannot portray how happy I am with the service I've received at Computer Runner. Thanks to them, I am writing this Yelp review with my newly repaired laptop :) It all started after calling Acer Customer Support and waiting on the line for over 20 minutes to get a quote for a cracked screen repair. The customer service member recommended that I should get a new laptop because my repair costs for my Acer ZG5 would be higher than its worth ($487). This was unbelievable! I was about to throw my Acer out the window and get another brand laptop. I tried a last ditch effort to get it fixed so I googled "laptop repair near tustin" and found Computer Runner. The place was a little hard to find at first (Heres some help for my fellow Yelpers: when you exit FWY 5 make a left at the light, and then make another left onto El Camino Real, then make another left onto El Camino Way). It really isn't that hard to find, it was just tricky at first for me. Anyhow, I took my laptop (ACER ZG5) for a diagnostic on a cracked screen, and guess what the price came out to be? $55!!!!! ONLY $55! I was in total shock! The price of a full repair for a cracked screen on my laptop was only 55 bucks! So I handed my laptop over and the manager called less than 48 hours later and told me it was ready to pick up!! This place is amazing. I am done getting repairs done through Acer! The fan went out in my laptop and my sister took it upon herself to repair it. Well, my well intentioned, loving sister got in "over her head" and couldn't get the laptop back together. She took it to Computer Runner and they were able to put it back together for a very reasonable price and fix a few other things that were wrong. I doubt there are words strong enough to convey my disatisfaction with this company. I had to bring my computer in 2x - once for a virus that was simple to remove but the manager neglected to tell me to check my anti-virus and re-install if needed [turns out to be a simple 'must' suggestion a la computer 101] and thus I got more virus' within several weeks. Took it back, was told it would be a 2 day deal; 7 days later, and ALL my Emails and Folders from 14 years of work, gone! my Western Digital back-up apparently does not back up certain systems. This was an easy, very simple save and this absolutely did not need to happen. Manager did not ever call me to inform me what needed to be done, what this entailed, the procedures he'd use, and how much it would cost. Just went ahead and did it the work, and now all gone. That mistake has cost me enormous stress and strain and loss in work. The technician, I believe, quit that week, or at least I saw his resignation letter on his desk when he was trying to find my lost folders and email. To boot, the manager threatened me that if I "blamed him," he was "not going to help me fix any issue." And that "no one else would help me either." It was worse than that, but suffice to say. Needless to say there was not nor has been any apology. Save yourself enormous hassles and simply go to The Geek Squad. If you choose this store, don't say you weren't warned. I've never disputed a charge before, but on this, it's a no-brainer. read more

The people really know what they are doing! I took my laptop in with no hope of recover. I was amazed that they resurrected from the dead. I had dropped it from a high place and the case broke and the screen cracked. It would not turn on and look like all hope was loss. It was a bad situation because I had so much important data on the laptop. Not only where they able to to repair the screen but case as well as saving my data. So anybody can say they're the best computer repair shop around. You can't go by the rating alone. Most of the time it's bad customers who are giving a one star rating because they're cry babies and want something fixed out of warranty. These guys are the easiest repair team I've ever worked with. I came in on a Wednesday to have my computer checked out. They told me ahead of time that it would take at least a day to run the diagnostics and find out what was wrong. Friday came and they call me and tell me my computer was fixed. So I come in and have a nice chat while they're finishing up the installation of the OS(operating system). Sammy, the owner, is really nice. Gave me a fair price for the great work they did. So I take the computer home. I didn't get to play with it until Saturday because of work. So it wasn't until Saturday that I realized that they had installed a 32 bit version of windows and not the 64 bit I originally had. It was too late to take it to the shop so I emailed them. Unfortunately they're closed Sunday's so I had to wait until Monday. Sammy called me back and apologized for the confusion. He told me to bring the laptop into get it sorted out. So now I am here 110% satisfied with the work, customer service and the way I was treated. I had told them ahead of time that I was pretty tech savvy. The IT guy John and Sammy didn't dumb down any words and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I love this place. I can't say enough about this place. I had a computer with a broken dc jack. Some places will only do the job by replacing the motherboard, and then charge top dollar for it. These guys will try to salvage the board and repair the jack first before resorting to replacing the board. They are very affordable! The number one reason that I give them such praise is the Excellent Customer Service! Sammy is a very friendly, personable guy. He is willing to work with you to get your system repaired with NO GAMES. That's all I wanted. He was surprised that I trecked all the way from Cypress to Tustin, but I told him good service and honest prices are worth it. Finding a good PC Repair place is like finding a good car mechanic. Sam and Scott are a dynamic duo! I brought two laptops to them to fix, essentially to replace the touch screens on each laptop. They were professional, fast, friendly and reasonably priced! This feels like a real family-oriented business, given that they were very sociable, spent significant time with me, answered many questions of mine, and went above and beyond to explain the work they anticipated on doing as well as the work they actually did, including where they purchased the materials. Sam actually could've have gotten me my laptop back even sooner, but he took the time to contact me and ask if I wanted to get a better replacement screen (original manufacturer vs. third party replacement) but would have to wait an extra month at roughly the same price. Since I didn't need that laptop back in the rush, I went with a better replacement part. In my personal experience, I hadn't met too many business-owners who consider these types of detail or even care, and I really appreciate it when it happens. Long story short: I've found my nice, friendly, neighborhood computer repair shop (not to mention they are very reasonably priced too!). Oh, and I took one of the laptops back recently for a non-related issue, and they even gave me a discounted price for being a recent customer, which they didn't have to mention or do.
