These guys are crooks. Run the other way and/or just use Apple's mail in repair service (read on). My interaction: They took my MacBook in for a repair in mid August. They diagnosed the computer as needing a logic board, and I was told that I would have to prepay about $500 for the part. They were aware that I was moving away from Rochester in a few weeks time, and low and behold, the part never arrived. The computer was returned to me the day I was leaving (unfixed), and I was told that they would process a refund later as they were helping a customer. Guess what? No refund ever processed! So my primary work machine is out of service for the better part of a month. It's never fixed, and I am out almost $500 bucks. That's about as bad an experience as one can have. Since then I used Apple's mail in service to have the computer repaired. This cost lest and from the time I submitted the request to the time the computer was returned was a mere 4 business days! And the ultimate cost of the repair from Apple was several hundred dollars less than the guys at the computer resource center quoted me. Don't let yourself get scammed here! read more

My experience with CRC and the team there has been stellar - I'm tickled to have a local source of information that I can rely on to repair my computer-like toys and business support I.T. I've even screwed some things up after they worked on it, they went back and repaired my screwup with no charge. I had one sick laptop. I knew my battery stopped working months ago, but my power chord would not stay connected. I thought all the "hard crashes" was causing my laptop to perform badly, and my Windows operating system was really messed up. So I took my laptop to the Computer Resource Center since they were close by. They called me right away and told me I had the wrong charger for my laptop (I had replaced my charger years ago). They suggested getting another and come down to pick your laptop back up. How much did they charge me? Nothing! Apparently, the diagnostic is free. I got a new charger on Amazon and the results were nothing short of amazing. No more hard crashes, and I can't remember the last time my laptop performed this well. I never thought a "bad" charger could have the impact that it did. CRC could have charged me, but they didn't. You don't see that kind of great customer service these days. They even took my battery out because it was swelling and was a safety concern. Many thanks to the Computer Resource Center. I would use them again in a heart beat. read more

If you're looking for a computer tech company that will provide stellar customer service this is not the place. I asked and was assured that they would be my advocate on a repair/replacement for an IPAD Air that had a screen break under gentle/normal use conditions. They did nothing to support me their customer. They took a photo and were to do an online chat They needed to actually explain my situation but did not do that. (Unit has not scratches/dents or other, was not dropped, kept in an Apple authorized case and gently used). If you have an Apple issue---save yourself the damage to your case---drive to the twin cities and go to a true Authorized Service Center....or better yet simply handle it yourself-----They helped me so much it will cost me $950 to replace this Ipad...which is more than I paid for it to begin with. (The current version of the Air has a weak screen design---if you have one, or if your thinking of getting one---be very careful with it--make sure you never carry it anywhere by its edge. read more

Just a warning, for those thinking they'll get great prices here. We've had good luck with these guys in the past, but not so this last time. We were charged 6 hours at $90/hr. this last visit, simply for transferring data from a 3TB drive to a 5TB drive. Our Macs were having difficulty not stalling out at home, so we thought CRS would be better at it than us. Our mistake? Not getting an estimate up front. Charge? $540. We were able to get them to come down to $405. That's ridiculous when you consider they're not actually fixing anything. We should have been charged for an hour's time, since all they had to do was plug it in and unplug it. read more

I don't know a lot about computers and was debating about replacing my 9-year-old MacBook Air. Instead, I had the operating system upgraded and had it cleaned up at CRC. They were very up front about the cost and what it included; there were no surprises. I dropped off the computer with no appointment and picked it up 3 hours later. Best of all, I was very comfortable asking the most basic questions. This was a very positive experience. read more

We had been having problems with our computer and Network. CRC came out on Saturday and, unfortunately, could not get in touch with Technical support from our provider. They came back Monday morning and got everything up and running again. I will definitely use them in the future! read more
