I had a data recovery problem. Not being sure where to go I did the usual google thing. Derek replied almost immediately. Explained my problem and he said the best thing to do was go to an online site and download their program, and recommended several free and paid he said were good. If that didn't work I would likely need a data recovery company, and recommended one of those. Thanks to Derek's advice, I did not lose any data and the whole process was pretty fast. My hubby and I received a smart TV with a zillion bells and whistles, which we really don't need and also don't know how to use, as a gift. It frustrates us no end. One day we noted the display was "HOLD", and no matter what we tried with the remote, the "HOLD" lived on and on and on. I work exclusively from home and rely mostly on a custom built PC with multiple displays that has served me very well for some time. After a required Windows update, the PC would not boot properly and despite numerous attempts, I was not able to get to a Windows Log In screen. I did some research online and learned about Tech Doctors. I called Derek and he completed some helpful troubleshooting over the phone within hours. The next day he stopped out at my house to continue work to resolve the issue. He was able to recover all the data off my hard drive, so thankfully, I didn't lose any of it. He then helped me reinstall Windows, at which point I was able to load an Acronis image of my C: drive, which got most of my unique application settings back immediately. Derek checked back in with me a few days later just make sure I was still doing OK. Without his help, it probably would have taken me a lot longer to get back up and running, and I might not have recovered all my data. Googled their site, I explained my problem and the Doctor said he couldn't fix a hardware issue (Microsoft job) but could address software. Asked if I would like him to check while on the phone.
