I figured it might be something with the ssd. I bought a new ssd and other components and had them install everything. First off, the wiring was really sloppy. Second, random things that I never had an issue with became an issue after getting it back like when I don't touch the mouse and the pc goes into sleep mode, it won't wake back up. I have to long press the power button and enter through bios everytime. Also, I can't type in the windows search bar, or Netflix search bar or a few others. Idk what's up with that, may be unrelated. Terrible experience at uBreakFix…read more Last Friday, I was referred to this store by Samsung to fix a minor cosmetic issue with my fold phone's inner screen. It had a bubble on the fold screen, but the phone was still fully functional. I thought they would use some technique to smooth out the bubble. Instead, they told me I needed to pay $76 to replace the screen protector. I was hesitant at first, but the service rep was polite and convinced me it would be worth it, so I agreed. Two hours later, just before the store closed, I picked up my phone. The service rep turned off my phone and reassembled the outer case for me, which seemed fine at the time. But now I realize why he might have done that. When I got home and opened the inner screen (the outer screen was working normally), I noticed the inner screen was damaged. The touch functionality wasn't working, and there was a black spot along the center fold. The inner screen was no longer functioning properly. I called the store right away but got no response because they had closed. The next day, I returned to explain your store was supposed to fix my phone, but instead, it seems like you made it worse and damaged the inner screen. The service rep then suggested replacing the inner screen protector again, but I explained that the damage they caused wouldn't be fixed by just changing the protector. He agreed and said he would contact the manager, who would call me by Saturday or Monday. However, I never received any call from them. Frustrated, I went back to the store again. The service rep then told me I would need to replace the entire inner screen for about $600, but he would still need to talk to the manager about something--though I wasn't sure what. 2 days later, the replacement part had already arrived, but they hadn't even bothered to call me. I had to call them to find out When I arrived to get the screen replaced, they told me I had to pay the full $600+ cost, and despite confirming several times, they insisted they weren't responsible for the damage to the screen. I asked, "So my screen was working fine before, and now I have to pay over $700 to fix a problem you caused?" The service rep just smiled and said the manager would contact me the next day, but repeated that they were not responsible for the damage. The whole experience was awful. Note that the first 5 of these weeks was before the COVID shutdown, so that's not a viable excuse for the fact that they never repaired it. I called them 4 times for status and was told the same lie each time, including "I'll call you back". Each time I reminded them of the previous unkept promise to call me back. On the final call, the guy who seems to run the place told me "I'll stay late and fix it myself then call you." No call. No fix. See attached photo for what I picked back up from them.

Very slow service and poor communication…read more The diagnostic process took far longer than expected, despite my repeatedly following up for updates. Communication throughout the process was poor, and I was rarely informed about the status of my laptop. In the end, I was simply told that the motherboard was damaged and the laptop could not be repaired. If I just wanted a second opinion that my laptop was broken, I could have gotten one much much faster and at no cost. The experience cost me both time and money, and I was left frustrated by the lack of timely updates and clear communication. I can't comment on the quality of their repair work since no repair was performed, but based on my experience, their communication and turnaround time need significant improvement.

I found the basic price for service at $99 to be more than reasonable, though I was told that it would take about two weeks for my computer to be diagnosed. I paid the $75 expediting fee and given a timeframe of 2-3 days before diagnosis. I was then happy to get a call from them the next day with the diagnosis and plan of action. The day after that, my computer was ready for pickup, good as new. Overall, very happy with the experience.
