Reduced their quote for my MacBook Pro by 10% 2 weeks after I received the quote. Absolutely pathetic. Claimed it depreciated yet a quote from their competitors do not show depreciation. This is how they do business? Waste of 2 hours driving to and from the city. I do not recommend doing business with this flop of a company. read more

Great place to resell a laptop. Very quick and paid exactly what they said they would. Recommend highly! read more

Great place to buy computers or sell, they price is unbeatable, great customer service, have lots to offer, they gave me an advice what to do with my old MacBook before I sell it to them to get more $$. read more

The keyboard was malfunctioning badly on my Macbook, so at the recommendation of a friend, I brought it here to be checked out. I must admit to being a bit leery of computer 'fix it' type places. However, after a fantastic experience at Computer Overhauls, I am a customer for life. They promptly identified the problem with my Macbook, ordered the part directly from Apple, and 2 days later, i returned to pick up my fixed laptop, which now works perfectly. Best of all, they could have easily charged me for labor, and whatever they wanted, but didn't charge a thing since it was a recall of an old part. Super impressed with their service and honesty, and recommend them to anyone having laptop/PC issues. read more

This is a no-frills shop that you'll never happen upon by accident on the street, but once you're there, it's no-nonsense guys who know what they're doing, and - in my experience - deliver what they say they will. We went in to sell an old laptop, having wiped the hard drive and having completed their online questionnaire to get an estimate of what they'd pay. The sales rep inspected the machine, booted it up, checked it to make sure it was in fact in the condition we claimed, then gave us cash from the till in the amount they'd estimated. Done. Very little hemming and hawing, and no haggling at all once he saw that we'd answered the survey accurately. The whole thing took maybe 10 minutes, during which time another sales rep helped two other people, and a tech was in the back working on repairs or reconditioning. There it is. Not a lot more to say, since I haven't needed to go back there yet. But if our experience is an indication, they're 4 solid stars easy. read more

Seamless experience! I emailed here about selling my DSLR camera and they were quick to respond. They offer better prices than most places I tried and the process in person was simple & quick. I highly recommend selling used your equipment at Computer Overhauls! read more

Brought my laptop in without an appointment and they quickly appraised it and I walked out the door with 475 dollars in cash. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Also, they have a vending machine that sells cans soda for fifty cents. Real sodas. I highly recommend this place. read more

terrible service and overcharge. Adam Sanderson is the worst guy to provide customer service. fire him already damn it.

They were professional in every aspect of doing business with me - from the telephone greeting the prompt follow up and the transaction itself. They're a business that does what they say will do - a rarity these days. I'd definitely do business with them again. read more

Excellent customer service and overall experience. Was in and out within 15 minutes with cash in hand. They did a through inspection of our used laptops and quoted a fair deal. Will definitely be using them again and recommending to friend and family! read more

A nice selection of used computers, both Mac and PC. Right next to the train station, they also repair and buy computers of course. Sold a smashed piece of crap to them (they only were interested in the hard drive of course, the rest wasn't salvageable), definitely plan to return here next time I need a used laptop. read more

First off, I have no experience BUYING any refurbished computers here nor do I have any experience having my computer repaired here. I just needed to sell my SONY VAIO that I dropped and subsequently damaged the sound card on. DAMMIT! The computer wasn't even a year old yet. Anyway, you go into this office sort of building, sign in at the front desk and go on up. It's a small little place, not what I expected, but it was Sunday and there were two other people in the store browsing and I got helped right away. He examined my computer, looked up its worth online and then made me an offer. I took it and got cash on the spot. Done! Friendly technician, nononsense transaction. If you want to sell your old computer, check them out, I'd say they will give you a pretty fair and decent offer for it. read more

I am in the market to get a new computer. I have a MacBook I purchased from Computer Overhauls in 2009. That was after the screen on my Dell cracked and I went in hoping they could just replace it. While they were happy to do so at a cost of about $500 bucks (parts & labor) I was told I'd be better off transferring the data to another laptop I could purchase there and for less money. In my head I'm like really? These guys are automatically trying to save ME money. I dig them already!!! So after perusing their refurbished inventory I decided on the MacBook (which of course costs more). But I was always a Mac girl and lost my head for a minute and bought a Dell (never again do I PC). Anyways I quickly decided I'd wait for a MacBook to come available. Took about 10 days but I went back and purchased one (minus the cost of a Lenovo I bought as a temporary access to email). Today my MacBook is still running perfectly. I mean not an issue in sight. I did upgrade the Microsoft Office they downloaded though.... So I suspect when I am working again (the ongoing theme these days) I will certainly head back to them for another computer. I just like these guys!! read more

Brian is an honest salesperson. If he doesn't have a clue, then he will not play make believe. That is refreshing. The Lenovo was a solid buy. read more

Quick and easy. Got a Mac mini that was in the condition described. One weird thing was that the box it came in had a different serial number than the item I bought, and a price tag on it that was significantly less than what I paid. Probably just a spare box they put it in to make it seem more complete. The cord was a little gross, but, again, I bought it used. Just be sure someone's home to sign for the package! They won't leave it on your doorstep, and USPS only delivers while most people are still at work. read more

I bought a 2015 MacBook Pro from these guys via eBay and am leaving an honest review in exchange for a $10 rebate they're offering (full disclosure). It arrived faster than their shipping estimate and was packaged safely and professionally. The condition of the machine was as described - flawless, with the same battery count and specs posted. It's a sweet computer and I feel very satisfied with how they handled the transaction. A+ read more

I'm disappointed in the customer service from these guys. I was excited about using their services because of their high reviews. I called to receive quotes. I was told that they would text me within a few hours to let me know if they could buy my items and for how much. I literally waited all day and no one even attempted to get back to me. I even double checked that they had the right phone number before hanging up so I wouldnt miss their call. read more

I bought my refurbished laptop there and brought it in a year later when it needed some tech work (totally my fault, NOT the.laptop) This place has great prices, everybody is friendly and knowledgeable, and they really know what they're doing. I really love this company. From the time I walked into the building I received great energy from them and I felt a sense of hope. I brought by camera in to sale and I did research prior to coming there. I was able to get a fair price on my camera and the customer service was great as well. Answered all of my questions and didn't make me feel like I was selling a product for less. Thank you X read more

This place is great! Attentive and very helpful. Have bought two computers from them. I highly recommend them!

I thought I would never buy an iPad from EBay, but the price offered by Computer Overhauls was $235 below list. I was still nervous, but decided to go ahead based on their high EBay seller's rating. I'm glad I did. The iPad was as advertised; new, in the original shrink-wrapped box and works flawlessly. In addition, shipping was super-fast, and the packaging was amazing--the box was secure in its own air pocket with an easy open flap. Perhaps the best packaging for electronics I've ever received! I am happy with my purchase and would consider buying from Computer Overhauls again in the future. read more

My computer has been having all kinds of trouble to the point where I could not pull up any of my applications. I bring my laptop to them and after their "diagnostic" I'm told I need a full overhaul of my laptop. I come back after about a month of them having it to pick it up. Since then I have been back and forth at least 5 times with either the same problems or new problems after they claimed they fixed it. I even get argued with and talk down to about a problem with my sound that I did not have when I brought the laptop in the first place. It is still crashing, checking disks, freezing, (all the things I complained about from inception) all of a sudden I need a new hard drive. Their service is AWFUL. I am still dealing with them about this laptop. I'm even writing this from my ITouch because my laptop crashed 3 times today alone. I will NEVER refer this place if it was the last repair place in NYC. I will buy a MAC and lifetime warranty before I ever go back to this place. read more

It is with great pleasure that I write this review for this retailer, as I have been a customer for approximately 4 years. I decided after a few weeks of research to purchase a "pre-owned" laptop, as I was sick of paying full prices and dealing with global retailers with mediocre customer service. Computer Overhauls offers amazing pricing and has a great inventory. I cannot say enough about the staff who are friendly and have a greats sense of humor. They clearly love what they do and are not condescending when asking technical questions. I recently had an issue with my laptop that I purchased and even though I did not purchase the extended warranty they rectified the issue at a very reasonable cost and allowed me to take home a loaner. They also kept me up to date as to what the issues were with my laptop and when and how the problem would be rectified. Excellent company! read more

I really love this place. I have sold and bought with them multiple times and would not go anywhere else. Even though the first refurbished laptop I bought from them died, I brought it up back within their warranty and they gave me an even exchange for another one that works great, and was a great deal. I didn't even need the receipt because they recorded the purchase. I highly recommend this place. read more

It was with great dismay that I realized my time machine/external hard drive was not working. Actually great dismay is putting it mildly as every time I have a computer breakdown I actually come close to a meltdown too. But I have learned over time that the best thing to do in any situation involving computers is to call Computer Overhauls. I like speaking with Yuri as he knows what a computer idiot I am and doesn't seem to hold it against me but really any of these guys are great. When I first called, the tech at Computer Overhauls attempted to fix my computer remotely as I sat there biting my nails. And at first that looked like it might work. Alas, my external hard drive was kaput so I had to take it over to Computer Overhauls and replace it. I could have just bought the hard drive and then took it home to install it on the computer but the likelihood of messing up such a procedure was high. So I humped the entire computer over to Computer Overhauls. Not only did they sort out the drive but they fixed up the time machine and gave me a mini tutorial that I could actually understand. Further, due to my complete insecurity about making the time machine work, they actually kept my computer until the time machine had done its business with the external drive. Oh joy! Quick, easy and working. What more could you ask for? Oh, I know, reasonably priced service. Well, I certainly got that in spades. The diagnostics on the phone and in person were free. Yes, free. And the repair - new drive - was zip too. This is because the drive was relatively new but still, they charged me nothing to install it and back up the time machine. Where else int he world can you get such service? Highly, highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend! read more

This is a great business. There's nothing shady and they don't walk to the back and come back out and tell you something. Everything is done right in front of you. I went in to sell my laptop and they gave me a good deal. They also have me great information on buying a new laptop in the future. I would definitely recommend this business and I would patronize this business again. read more

I am very happy that Computer Overhauls was recommended to me when my computer died. They quickly sent an estimate to repair the computer and made sound recommendations based on its damage. I have now purchased a "preowned" computer and am hoping for the best! read more
