The 5th Avenue location is probably the most beautiful or the second most beautiful Apple store that I have been too. The design and layout are eye-catching. I liked a lot the natural light fixtures on the ceiling, that's a nice and modern touch. What I didn't like from my visit, was the customer service. No one approached me to ask if I needed help. Apple does better at other locations I have been to.

We just showed up and Alexis took good care of us- we were in and out in about 20 min no appointment. Very efficient and of course, everyone LOVES an Apple product. The new iPads are worth upgrading to.

The only Apple Store open 24/7 located on 5th Avenue. The store itself is literally underground; what can be seen above ground is a glass box illuminated with GlowMode that's integrated with Apple's Intelligence system. Upon entering, there's a choice to either take the elevators or the stairs. If you need to stop to take a photo, make it quick because Apple Staff will reprimand whoever that does. Maybe not reprimand.. more, like strongly suggest. The whole floor on either side of the staircase is lined with products. Get to know a product, charge your device or seek assistance. Pick a function!

An art piece masquerading as an Apple store. This flagship location is a testament to the extraordinary lengths Apple goes to create the ultimate premium feel from their products to their stores. Walking down the spiral staircase, you can see the expansive underground vault of tables and displays of the newest Apple product. Amidst all the electronics are nature, plenty of trees and greenery surround the store with a light refreshing ambiance. This greenery looks all well maintained and is calming to see. There is a large seating area to rest and free charging from magsafe pads. Plenty of staff to balance the huge flow of visitors and buyers here getting their new products set up or asking questions about their next purchase.

This store is open 24/7, which is extremely convenient if you need to purchase something or need an urgent repair. The store is brightly lit, a lot of greenery and plenty of seating available. l brought my laptop due to a battery and keyboard issue. I did not have an appointment and the wait was about an hour an a half. All of the staff I interacted with were very friendly and gave me detailed explanation about what the issue was with my laptop. The time they quoted me was 4-6 days but my laptop was ready faster than that. Shortly after I got my laptop there was an issue with the keyboard that was not fixed correctly and they replaced the entire keyboard. I was very happy with the customer service and that they fixed my laptop in a short time.

The Fifth Avenue Apple Store is the flagship retail location for NYC. It's big and it's below street level in the plaza of the GM building, which is located directly across from the Plaza Hotel and Central Park. The retail floor space is very large. The Genius Bar is located on one side and the retail "grab and go" items are along the walls. As expected, the store was bustling. There were a lot of people here but because the space is so large, it didn't feel overwhelmingly crowded. The iconic tempered glass cube that sits over the spiral staircase entry way is a tourist attraction of sorts. There will be people snapping pictures of the glowing Apple logo that is suspended over the center of the entrance. They've added LED lighting to each side since my last visit. A personal admission. I worked a side security gig here in '11 when the cube was being remodeled. It cost a fortune to construct and I heard that each panel was over a million dollars to produce. They built a whole structure around the previous cube which had lattice work and the final product was hidden from public view. When it was unveiled it was quite impressive. The store is open twenty four hours for the City that never sleeps.

-- Theater, not utility. Designed for first-timers, not professionals. Walked in knowing exactly what I needed: * iPad Pro 13" * Cellular * eSIM transfer * Out the door What I got instead was a retail employee trying to choreograph a ritual, complete with box-opening theatrics, cloud setup suggestions, and an unsolicited Apple sermon. I'm not here to be sold on the ecosystem. I'm not here for joy, magic, or curated vibes. I'm here because I need a mission-critical device to work now, not after a full configuration ballet. Told the staff multiple times: I have 2% battery left, I need the Spectrum app to move the eSIM, I'm already on a tight schedule. The first associate was helpful. The second seemed offended that I didn't want the "Apple moment", as if skipping the performance somehow disrespected the altar. I don't need to "own the experience." I need to own the device and deploy it immediately. That's it. If your store can't adapt to a customer who knows what they want and instead tries to reclaim control under the guise of helpfulness, you're not offering service. You're staging a play. I'm not a character in your show.

Bring back the Genius Bar because what you're doing here now is a mess. In other Apple stores you're greeted at the entrance by staff. Here... you wander around looking for an associate not in the middle of helping someone. Then you see in the rear corner 2-3 Geniuses standing checking in people. No sign directing you there, no designated spot. This is a very busy location. What they do in other stores doesn't work here, at least not during the day. The best thing about this location is that it's 24 hours and so is their repair service. Now whether you can just walk in at any time might be a problem but it's easy to book an appointment online or via the Support app. I was a walk-in so I had to wait for about a half-hour for my appointment. This is where the problem comes in. There's lots of seating. So if you're waiting for your appointment you think you can sit anywhere. You think wrong. The majority of the tables with seats are reserved for customers being serviced. I watched as people were repeatedly shooed away from those tables. I ended up sitting on the planter. There was also seating on the plant wall (you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it). My Genius was very thorough. She told me that my battery replacement would also require a speaker to be replaced. I would have never suspected that unless she told me (it's an iPhone XS thing I think). When she wasn't sure of the speaker thing she was quick to confirm it. The whole interaction was quick and pleasant. I was told the repair would take 40 mins. but I gave it 50 just to be sure. It wasn't ready. The Genius doing the check-ins had to go check the status of my repair. I waited maybe 20 mins. to get my phone from the associate assigned to me. It was very busy so I had no problem being patient. I get my phone back and look... 100% battery health! I really should have gotten my battery replaced sooner. With the new battery, the iOS update and a new case, I felt like I got a new phone! This location is busy and a little disorganized but the fact that it's 24 hours makes it my go-to store even though there's one closer to me. I've had multiple issues with the Broadway store so never again. For all its flaws the 5th Ave flagship store is better.

This Apple Store is pretty much like every other Apple Store you've ever been to. I think that's on purpose too, as Apple makes their stores the same lol (like a Footlocker is a Footlocker right?) What is cool about this one? It is right at Central Park! It's on the iconic 5th Ave. It is directly across from the even more iconic Plaza Hotel... oh and it's underground. So, looking to see at least 3 major NYC landmarks all at the same time AND you need a new Apple watch band? This is your spot. The staff was super helpful too. But gooood grief this place gets busy. Oh, which actually leads me to my next bit of info: BUSY? Just come back at 0300am! That's not a typo: this Apple Store is 24/7 (that's kinda cool)

During the conversation, he also provided helpful and professional advice regarding my other tech-related concerns. Overall, I felt that he genuinely cares about both the service he provides and the people he helps. Because of this follow-up and support, I am revising my overall experience to a 4-star review. I also hope the company's culture continues to reflect this level of care and professionalism and continues to support both customers and staff. --------------------------------------- Previous review -I brought my MSI laptop to this shop for a lid repair. At the time, there was a small crack on the left side near the hinge, and I was worried it might get worse , but the screen bezel was intact. I was initially told that once the part arrived, they would notify me to bring in the laptop, and the repair would then take about a full day. The part arrived on December 30, 2025, I dropped off the laptop on January 6, and picked it up on January 9. -After I got home, I turned on the webcam to prepare for a meeting, and noticed that the screen displayed a blue image. I contacted the shop immediately. I was asked to bring the laptop back for further inspection, but no explanation was provided regarding the possible cause of the issue. -Since the shop is about an hour away, I asked whether a remote diagnosis could be done first to better understand the situation. I was informed that there would be a charge for that service. At the same time, I looked into common causes of this issue and found that it can result from a protective film not being removed during repair. However, this possibility was not discussed. -If a likely cause had been communicated, it would have helped me better understand whether an immediate return visit was necessary. Without that information, the situation was unclear and required additional time and travel to resolve. -More recently, about four months after the repair, I noticed that the bezel near the hinge has cracked, even though I have been handling the laptop carefully. This area was not damaged prior to the repair. Given that the hinge area is a high-stress point, I am concerned that the repair or reassembly may have contributed to this issue. Overall, my experience was disappointing. While the initial interaction felt welcoming, it was followed by a noticeably self-protective approach when issues arose. Although the repair was completed, I encountered additional problems afterward that required significant time and effort to resolve. Based on this experience, I strongly recommend that others ask detailed questions about the repair process, confirm what testing will be performed, and ensure the device is thoroughly checked at the shop before taking it home. In general, I believe that clear communication and transparency are important in building trust with customers over the long term.
