The most helpful and instructive person I have spoken to about cracking iphones. He walked me through the process, and explained about the use (and fake versions of) these wondrous Gevey chips that do it all for you. He even gave me discount for Liking him on Facebook. It helps that they are located right next to most of the phone shops on Mission, so you can just head in there when there is a problem that your ordinary shop assitant can't solve. What a find this place is! Its no frills, but these folks know customer service. I called looking to have my Iphone 4 unlocked... I had called a few other places and everyone said it either couldn't be done, or it would cost $200!! Hugo, though he couldn't unlock it, he hooked me up with an even better solution... A Phone/Data/Text package for less than what I was paying on T-mobile!!! Not only did he sell me the service, but he set everything up and promised support should something go wrong. The folks at Compupod are amazing. When my android died, I went to t mobile at 20th st and Mission to sign up for a cheap plan. I had an iPhone someone gave me when they upgraded and had been told I could use it there. T mobile sent me across the street to Compupod to unlock it. I entered a parallel universe where phone plans are cheap ($40/month for unlimited talk, text and Internet) customer service is excellent (I've been back several times for help setting up my new phone) and prices are good (bought an unlocked used iPhone for less than $300.) After trying (and failing) to surface-mount solder a replacement power button on my Nexus 5, I gave up and brought my phone to Compupod. They were responsive when I contacted them on yelp and the dude was able to solder the part in less than 5 minutes. Cost was $35, but worth it IMO since now I have a working phone again. I just called the store to ask if they had screens for motorola phones. The person answering the phone answered in Spanish, which is fine but I responded in English because my spanish is too poor for me to be able to say "the screen on my motorola phone cracked, do you have those on hand"... except that the person responded "one second please" but then hung up on me. sorry, I know this will sound funny to some, I also am proficient enough in my Spanish to converse socially. but when I call a business, I expect whoever answers the phone to be able to respond appropriately. read more

Helpful service, fast and high quality. My cell phone mount holder broke and the same day I got a ticket for texting while driving. I went in to Compupod right before closing and needed a new holder. Hugo's team brought our iPhone 5 back from the dead! So we own a business here in the city, and we rely on our oldie but goodie iPhone (wait, is it old? I suppose in iPhone terms it's like a relic of the Crimean war or something). I did the little quote request thing and in like 10 minutes Hugo responded back saying he'd have a tech out the same day to fix our iPhone. The culprit was a dead battery, but we really needed someone with mobility to come fix it for us. I wrote this review in anger because I had already been treated badly at TechMission when I went in there to have my phone fixed and got ripped off. I had a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with a cracked glass back. Submitted a quote request around 8pm the night before. Extraordinary on every dimension -- friendly, fast, understanding, inexpensive. Checked price with others and Compupod was the most reasonable to fix defunct iPhone_4 power button (half the price of some others), and able to do other repairs/replacements while they had case opened up/dissassembled (new battery, new case back).
