They fixed my iPhone 6 plus back Camera. Their price was the best out of 4 stores I called. The employees were very nice and helpful. I will tell all my friends about them. read more

I needed a battery replacement on my Android cell phone. A friend of mine had sent an initial inquiry via Yelp to find out timing and pricing and I then went to the Mission Street location. Javier had already ordered the battery, on the basis of the Yelp inquiry! When I came back a few days later to have it installed, they did so in no time flat and at a very reasonable price. Everyone was very friendly and efficient and the store simply has a personal feel to it. Definitely recommend it. read more

Great service! Quick and professional. I was able to get my iphone repaired on the same day. I will definitely come here again in the future when I need my phone repaired. read more

Second time I've had to use this place after smashing my phone. When they tell you one hour, they're not lying. Not to mention the prices are competitive. I'll never take my broken screen anywhere else in the city! read more

I had a great experience at Compupod. They were very responsive when asking for a quote through Yelp, and very well priced. When I had a small gap between my frame and the screen, I brought it back in for a check. While they couldn't fix the very small gap (problem with the frame of my phone, not the screen), they gave me a free screen protector. Hugo is awesome and very helpful! Thanks for your help! read more

S8 with cracked screen. Now my phone is like new. No scam. No upselling. Just very fast and friendly low priced service. Great hours too. Close to parking garage. Great food and drinks near by while your waiting. read more

Hugo rocks! Abandoned by Apple, I turned to Compupod, and they magically revived my dead iPhone 5.

Great service. Had to do SIM swap for my Simple Mobile phone and the guy is extremely helpful and patient to get it done.

I live in Berkeley but work in San Francisco. My co-worker recommended me to Hugo and I have been going to Compupod ever since. Good price, quick repair, great customer service all from a nice group of people. I have had my two IPhones repaired, my son's and my daughter's. Repair shops spring up all over the place but I like giving my business to people who are honest and have manners. You won't get a better price anywhere, and you definitely won't get better service than this. read more

I've been getting iPhone screen protectors here for a few years, they've always done a good job. For some reason they've recently decided to standardize on a brand that has a blue tint to it. Because we all want a blue iPhone screen I guess. Anyway, whenever they return to their senses, and start selling clear protectors again, they're a 5* place to go. read more

The workers were really knowledgeable and detected the malfunction of my phone right away. The pricing was reasonable. I even got a discount with Yelp! People were really nice and helpful. My screen broke really bad but they fixed it very fast and it looked like new. I even received a discount a glass screen protector. Awesome! read more

Great work! Fixed my shattered iPhone 6+ screen in 2 hours, looks like a very clean job. Price was high, but that was consistent with other costs I found online. I enjoyed chatting with them, they are friendly and professional. Recommended! read more

Fixed a Blackberry Priv, a relatively rare phone. The price was very cheap, and the phone was fixed within an hour and fifteen minutes. Phone is working great--very happy with the service. read more

Brought in my brand new Google pixel XL to get my cracked screen fixed bc my clumsy fingers decided to drop it. Took pictures of my phone and did a 360 degree video of it just to protect myself if something did happen to my phone while getting fixed. They quoted me $175 to get my photo fixed, knowing the phone was brand new I figured it would cost me around the quote they gave me and agreed to the price. Coming back around 2 hours I noticed a bunch of glue around the new screen and a space between the back cassing. I told them about the issue and was told the technician was out for lunch and won't be back. I told them I would be back on the weekday to get my phone fixed. 2 days later I come back and they started to fix my phone, told me it would take an hour to fix and have the new glue settle till then. Coming back they told the housing was bent and that was the best they can do. Irritated at myself knowing I should have sent the phone to Google to fix instead. Overall the technician and the gentleman with beard gave me a phone case to compensate for the damages that happened. So yes I give them a 3 star on customer service but literally a 1 star for bending the housing of the phone. read more

We brought in our old Droids which needed new batteries. It wasn't suppose to be possible to replace the batteries. Alex replaced them quickly with great customer service and a nice smile. He also answered some general questions for us. We highly recommend him and this location! read more

A recap of my visits to Compupod: Visit 1 (on 06/26/16): I stopped by after work and was given an estimate by a gentleman I'll call Haircut, who spoke with a gentleman I'll call Smiley about it, and I left the iPad with them. He told me it would be ready the next day, and that they'd be open until 8:00pm for me to pick it up. All good. Visit 2: I come by around 7:20pm, and tell them I'm there to pick up the iPad. "It's been ready for hours," Alex tells me, who I hadn't dealt with the previous day, and despite no one calling to tell me that. He mentions that they're closing, but rings me up anyways and sends me away with the iPad. I had given it a quick look and it seemed fine, so I left content, if a little annoyed at the miscommunication on their end about the pickup time/process. Visit 3: After getting home and spending some time with it, I noticed that there were two very visible specks of dust under the screen right in the center. On top of that, the Home button felt uneven and squishy, and didn't work consistently. So I took it back in, showing all of this to Alex, who promised to fix it. Visit 4: I return a couple of days later to pick it up. The dust specks are gone, but the Home button still doesn't feel great. I was about to settle for good enough, but in handing it back to me Alex notices that the top third of the touchscreen isn't working. I appreciated him catching it, and he says he'll have it ready the next day. Visit 5: I come back to pick it up, everything seems okay so I take it home. Upon further use, I realize that the Home button is still borked, so I take it back in. I leave it with Alex again, telling him that I'm going out of town for about 5 days (until the following Tuesday) and I'll have to pick it up when I get back. He says that's fine, and that he'll replace the screen one more time to see if it helps with the Home button. Visit 6: I return from my trip, and I come in on Wednesday and Hugo is the first one to help me (I didn't know he was the manager at this point). There's some confusion and he goes in the back and eventually comes out with Alex, who thought I wasn't coming back until Friday so my iPad isn't ready yet. That's fine though, I'm in the neighborhood, so I tell them I don't mind coming back yet again. Hugo is very apologetic and seems very frustrated by the situation. He even offers to deliver it, but I tell him it's cool, I can come back. I tell them that I just want to be sure that the next time I come in it's 100% good to go. Visit 7: Hugo calls me later that evening to let me know that it's ready to pick up. Cool. I come back two days later, and Smiley gives me the iPad, which has several rubber bands wrapped around it, and tells me to wait a few hours before I use it. The home button also seems more responsive, even if it doesn't feel great (still squishy and not entirely flush with the face of the device). Visit 8: I'm busy so I don't get a chance to try the iPad until the next day. I remove the rubber bands and take the iPad out of its case - the back of it is covered with splotches of half-dried glue, which I clean off with some Goo Gone. Not a huge deal, just a bit unprofessional. More pressingly, every few minutes of use, the bottom lip of the screen starts to rise up from the body, clearly not glued down all the way. I call and ask for Hugo (after seeing here that he runs the show), and tell him of my issues and that I feel pretty frustrated with the whole thing. He apologizes very sincerely and offers to tackle the case himself, including a new Home button, and remembers me from before. It's a good conversation that makes me feel hopeful about the end result. I come to drop it off the next day with a sticky note that says "for Hugo" on it, and I leave it with Alex since he's there (Hugo isn't around), and explain the issues to him. He's very apologetic too. Visit 9: Alex calls me yesterday to tell me it's ready. Though he mentions that it's been done for a couple of days but that he's been busy and hasn't had a chance to call me. I came in today to pick it up, and was helped by Smiley (Alex nor Hugo were there). The Home button feels way better, but there's a very noticeable speck of dust stuck under the bottom right of the screen. Smiley's English is a bit rough, but he basically (very kindly) says it's the best they can do. I finally settle for good enough, and leave. So that brings us to the present, 07/17/16, three weeks of visits, and a result that while mostly decent, is ultimately flawed due to the dust. I haven't seen or heard a check-in from Hugo, and I'm just a bit exhausted at this point. Overall everyone has been mostly very nice, and apologetic about the delays and multiple visits, but I can't honestly say I'm satisfied with the end result. I think a refund would be most appropriate at this point so I can try somewhere else, but I don't know if I can make this 10 visits. I'm sorry Hugo, I really tried to work with you guys. :-/ read more

They have twice fixed my iphone screen. Both times it was quick, inexpensive, and looked perfect. It makes having a cracked screen not so bad. Go to Compupod and get it fixed! read more

Went there to fix my phone - was told what the problem was and charged $100 bucks to fix it (about what the phone was worth). Fine. Got it back and it still didn't work, so returned to the store. They told me a tine on the sim card reader was missing and that was the problem- this was incorrect according to the IT people I took it to afterwards- it was fine. They then offered to fix it again for another $80, and only admitted to me after I pressed them that they didn't know if they could fix it, and they were only charging for the attempt. I found the man I spoke with condescending and rude, and he refused to work with me in any way. This was by far my worst experience with something like this and I would rather travel further for someplace where I don't feel like they are trying to trick me into sinking more money into a dead phone. read more

Update: There's a circular area of my screen that is now lighter than the rest of the screen, like the contact there was not correct. Since the #1 goal of having a screen replaced is having it done right the first time, I'm reducing to 3 stars. In their defense, I didn't bother bringing it back for warranty because it wasn't worth the hassle. In theory, they'd fix it. read more

I shattered my phone and was told by TMobile that my only option was to buy a new one for $600! Having lost all hope, I walked into Compupod (which was conveniently located two doors down from TMO) and was sure there was nothing they could do for me... Until I met Hugo, who w/out any hesitance, informed me they could fix my phone and had it ready for me w/in hours. Not only were they fast, friendly, and efficient; they had a Yelp online coupon that they allowed me to use, which totally sweetened the whole deal. Now my phone is like new and it cost less $ than my insurance deductible would have. Made my day and my week. Thanks Hugo and Compupod! read more

Worst place ever had to take my phone back four times for getting my screen fixed, end up going somewhere else and got it fixed within five mins and was told they gave a cheap screen and my phone was missing bolts don't ever go here, also refused to refund me my money back after trying to return my screen horrible customer service, basically paid a hundred dollars for my phone to work worse then it did before I took it and a huge headache read more

I had a dreadful experience here, I really don't recommend it. They did not communicate with me at all about the status of my phone (multiple times did not communicate at all), charged me for a part that had not yet arrived and was not yet in my phone, and when I went to talk to the manager about the bad service he was not empathetic at all. You would think a good businessman would at least have said, "wow, you had a really bad experience here...let me think about how I can make up for that." instead he was semi-apologetic and even stopped making eye contact with me, deciding to ignore me and just talk to my partner instead. Will not go back. read more

Went in to add a Gorilla Glass type cover for my new iPhone SE. They were very friendly, helpful, and fast. I got in & out in 5 minutes. Customer service sucks. I brought my phone because it had a bad SIM card reader. They did a diagnostic test which cost $25. Then they told me it would cost $130 to replace the motherboard. The phone has a chipped screen and it's value is only @ $100 so I declined. This is a common flagship phone from 2016 and the SIM card reader is part of the motherboard. You're telling me I'm the first person to bring in this flagship phone with a bad SIM card reader? I highly doubt that. I understand charging diagnostic fees but not letting a customer know how much potential costs will be further down the line is shady af. Had they told me that it's probable (from past repairs) that the motherboard needs to be replaced I would not have agreed to the diagnostic test. A more honest and professional way to do business would be to tell customers if problem is A then it will cost $x, if problem is B then it will cost $y, etc. I would not have agreed to do the diagnostic test had I known how much the repairs would have cost. I came there a second time to ask for a diagnostic test on another cheap Motorola phone that is bricked. The guy behind the counter hands me an invoice for $76 (screen replacement). I didn't ask to have it fixed. I asked for a diagnostic test to find out what's wrong with it. They need to stop with the predatory sales tactics or hire people who understand English. I will be doing my own repairs from now on. read more

I dropped my iPhone and cracked the screen. These guys fixed it in about an hour, while I waited, and charged me $65. Five stars! Three workers there in a tiny shop -- two young men and one young woman -- all seem extremely competent and eager to provide top-notch service. Highly recommended! Only negative is some vulgar T-shirts on the wall. I can get over that for this kind of service. read more

Very nice Shop to have here in the Mission! A bit funky & I would suspect maybe a tend flakey on some aspects as not everyone there seems to language &/or technical skills. But a very nice collection of used MAC computers & parts that really help me out. read more

EXCELLENT service, quick turnaround time (less than two hours). They brought my laptop back to life, gave it a good cleaning, and fixed the bent metal piece around the charger port. It was all done easily and quickly. Others on the block said the process would take at least 4-5 hours or a full day, or that the part would definitely need to be replaced. If I'd brought it to a Mac store they would have convinced me to lay down $2k for a new MacBook (mine is 4 years old: ancient). Nelson charged me $45. $45! And just when I thought it was all over. Initially, he gave me two options, and one was that it might actually cost $100 if he had to replace a part. He didn't take advantage of me in my fragile state of near-panic. ;0 Called me within an hour and said it was done. Thank you, Nelson, for making my Monday and month of May! I will always start here with any phone or computer issue. You should too! read more
