The store itself is small, well maintained, and a solid selection of items for any apartment dweller. I've bought keys here, tool boxes, nails, and other small purchases. I find their customer service to be very solid 90% of the time. I never am talked down to, and typically approached kindly. There was once a young employee would pop up every three minutes to ask my friend and I if we needed assistance but I passed it off as him being very bored and hoping that there was something he could do. The store seemed overly staffed that day in December with more employees to customers by 5:1. Everything was immaculately faced on the shelves that day! It is an easy store to navigate with competitive prices. I have always gone to the hardware section so I can't really speak to the plants. The cashiers have been pleasant to funny to me. Once I bought a novelty drink - one that proclaimed it tasted like Thanksgiving - and asked the cashier if she had tried it. By the end of her describing the product I was laughing so hard and opted to take her advice and only buy one bottle fully expecting to hate it. Her description was 100% accurate.

I will often go to the Issaquah Lowe's if I need to do something that requires talking to a person. Their staff is ample and friendly and knowledgeable where here at the landing (which is way closer to me than Issaquah) it is hard to find someone and when you do you need to badger them to help you. Also they require you to BUY WOOD before they will cut it to size for you. What's the deal with that? I have to lug a bunch of plywood to the front of the store for you to then cut it to size for me after I lug it back to the cutting station at the opposite end of the store from where the checkout counter is. That's crazy. Don't do that, I don't do anything lumber related that isn't just buying 2x4's from Renton Lowe's anymore. Any Home Depot & Issaquah Lowe's are getting all of my business that requires more than just my own hands and the self checkout. People that I do interact with when I'm walking in or doing the self checkout are pleasant. And there's a guy there that works behind the paint desk, and he's very nice. Oh and they have good bathrooms. Very convenient because sizzle dog is right there and sometimes during lunch ya gotta run in to make a quick deposit mid hotdog ya know.

When I was struggling to mount a shelf, I got advice from one of the employees who was super friendly and explained to me exactly how to screw in the L brackets I was struggling with. He walked me over to the aisle and showed me exactly which screws would and wouldn't work for my project and explained to me how the screws would interact with different wall materials. Most recently I dropped by just before they closed to pick up drywall paste and a pallette knife. Despite me walking in ten minutes before they were supposed to shut, they didn't make me feel rushed at all and helped me find what I was looking for. I always prefer supporting a local business and I love having a neighbourhood hardware supply store I can count on with employees who feel kinda like family.

They stock an unexpectedly good range of goods considering it is a local store, not very high prices, and even a senior discount. The parking is not that bad, however, the 30-minute load zone in front can help. Any small project or hardware, we are a dependable and community-oriented store.

They have recently renovated this location, I believe, or at least moved things around and refreshed the look a bit. It's a good change. I enjoyed the new feel to it. I was disappointed that the garden center's outside doors were locked. But plants were lined up outside. Don't really get that either. However when I got to the location where the hand truck was in the city, realized the small stretch of hose you need was missing from the side of the bottle and the bottle was unsealed. Someone already tried to use this and also found hose was missing. I had to go back to Tukwila, and the Asian lady at customer service with black and gray hair ARGUED with me and said it doesn't come with a hose. She was extremely rude and combative. I told her the instructions on the bottle explicitly stated that there is a hose and you can clearly see the indent area on the bottle where the hose is supposed to be. She only reluctantly gave me a refund. And I'm sure just put it back on the shelf so someone else can buy it and get screwed. This lady shouldn't ever have a job involving customer service. She acted like it was her job to insult and drive away customers. If that's the case, good job. Even though I live a block from this store, I'll get what I need from Target, Home Depot or Amazon.
