Lovely outside seating covered and dry even in the rain, which happened while we were visiting. Tourist and prime corner pricing to be expected, but large portions as well to compensate. (The ham and cheese croissant spotted at another table was worth two portions anywhere else!) In a sea of pizza shops, it's nice to find a cafe with sweet and savory crepes and various styles of lattes. Service is of the casual, let me know when you need me style. Excellent natural flavors for the crepe and some alternative milk options if you need a non-dairy latte.

It was heat alert when we had our brunch in these restaurant, and happy their patio is covered and surrounded with plants. Friendly staff, delicious food.

This is a lovely spot down near Vieux Montreal and Vieux Port. We had tickets for Cirque du Soleil and it was a perfect location. We started with a lovely red wine for me and a chocolate chaud for my granddaughter. We split the Caprese salad - which was delicious. It had thick slices of mozzarella and fresh tomatoes with arugula and balsamic drizzle. Very classic, and very good. Then we ordered crepes - a mushroom and cheese and a ham and cheese - they were both very tasteful and there wasn't much left on either plate to wash!! Not because they were small, but because they were so good!! Service was very attentive and we weren't rushed at all. Our seating was Al fresco on the raised patio with beautiful hanging baskets of flowers all around. We would definitely recommend this place if you're in Montreal.

We had dinner here on the first night arriving in Montreal. After a 6 hour drive from Toronto, we were tired and just wanted to grab something close to our hotel in Old Montreal. On a Saturday night, their patio was packed with people so we decided to eat here. Being right in the heart of the touristy Old Montreal, I had low expectations as I do with most tourist traps. However, surprisingly, I was impressed with Comptoir 400. Service was excellent and everything came in a timely manner from the refills of our drink to our meal. As an appetizer, we ordered the antipasto platter and arugula salad. Portions were very generous considering the price they were charging. These two items could have made a meal in itself. As our main, we ordered the simple pepperoni pizza. Something about pizza in Quebec tastes different than what we get in Toronto. Anyway, it was very good. A little thanks to our server. When I asked him what size of pizza to get, he was very honest and told us to order the smallest one because it would be more than enough for two people. All in all, a good option if you're in Old Montreal during lunch or dinner time. Good for: pizza, drinks, Italian

Best pizza I've tried in a long time.

Okay. This restaurant is in a tourist area - everything in the vicinity has some inflated prices. Still, when I saw on the menu that we were going to pay $50 for a 12-slice pizza....A part of me began itching to criticize. I was wrong. First of all, it was pretty big. Big enough that, three slices each were enough and we brought the three remaining slices home. We wanted to save room for dessert. But we were full. Salad, bread and an XL pizza could definitely serve 3, maybe a family of 4. The quality of ingredients really stood out. I don't usually eat pepperoni. But if I see it looks fresh I'll try it before proceeding to pick it off. This time I didn't. It was good. And cooked just right. The cheese. Fantastic. Where did this cheese come from. JC, we're in Quebec, I thought to myself. Of course! The sauce was also, simple, but in a good way. It definitely didn't come out of a can or tube. I left thinking...before this experience, my poor son who loves pizza has not tried enough great pizza. If you have a reco for Toronto or Montreal, pls message me!

This is my kind of place! The cute outside seating area caught my eye as I drove by, and I made a point to walk back here for a drink. The Irish Coffee I had was just perfect--strong enough but not too strong, and a little sweet with a lot of great coffee taste that wasn't overwhelmed by the whiskey. My husband had a caramel crepe and said it was incredibly delicious! Our server was friendly and welcoming, as was the busboy. I noticed how all the staff was usually smiling and seemed to be enjoying their work. We loved the sidewalk seating area with its pretty flower planters and open view of the waterfront park across the street. We lingered and conversed, and everyone else seemed to be doing the same. There was no pressure to clear out once we had finished eating.

Thank goodness Comptoir allows ALL forms of credit cards! Credit cards just make life so much easier. There are a couple of other pizza spots in Old Montréal, however, waiting over an hour to eat is not ideal. We stumbled upon Comptoir as we were searching for food. Comptoir isn't clustered together with all the other long wait-listed restaurants of Old Montréal. In fact, it can easily be missed because you'll see several crowds crossing the street next to Comptoir. We were easily able to be seated outside after a 15-minute wait. We ordered Sangria-- which they serve red, white, OR a rosé, and a New Yorkaise (without cheese due to a dairy allergy plus pepporonis), and a Margherita Pizza. I wish the Pizza was more spectacular, but it was just an ordinary, oven roasted pizza. If you like New York slices, this will be up your alley, as the pizza is thin crusted.

Me and my friend took a day trip to Montreal we were absolutely starving and needed some home made food. We decided on this place and absolutely loved the food and our waitress Mariam her customer service is amazing and we will definitely be back!

Underwhelming considering our high expectations of the location. Our server said they were out of croissants. This may have been an innocent joke meant for a quick laugh, but not being local, I couldn't tell. Lo and behold I was to obtain the ham and cheese croissant, because the server double checked just for me.... The shredded cheese did not melt and the ham wasn't warm enough in my opinion. The fried shell on the outside was tough and did not slice well. My wife ordered a mimosa and I just had water. The server very carefully balanced her mimosa and an iced coffee on his platter and as he's approaching our table I think there's her mimosa and someone else must have ordered an iced coffee. Turns out the mimosas was hers and the iced coffee was his. He then enjoyed the his iced coffee and flirted with my wife for the vast majority of our breakfast.

Given that this is a review for a majority French province I will attempt to write two reviews, in the spirit of being elite, one in English for other tourists and one in the beautiful language of French. Étant donné que c'est une critique pour une province majoritairement française, je vais essayer d'écrire deux critiques, dans l'esprit d'élite, une en anglais pour les autres touristes et une dans la belle langue française. First in English, bilingual people please forgive any errors in my French as I'm still learning. This restaurant was not my first choice, in fact I ate here by happenstance, and the Service was not what I expected. Given that I'm not fluent in French. But to my surprise There are English speakers here. For starters the Pizza comes out as pictured on a slab of wood, they place it on a Slab of wood. And I must say the XL gave me and my travel buddy more than enough to eat. The bruschetta is packed so full that we needed to use forks to eat some of the toppings. And the sangria was sweet but had just enough wine that you do not forget you are drinking a wine beverage. But a little stirring sweetens this mason jar filled with red sangria- Et maintenant en français, les français, pardonnent toutes les erreurs de mon français, car j'apprends encore. Tourists this is a definite must. un must pour les touristes

Dessert Crepes and beautiful people watching in the square....

Excellent service and beautiful location to people watch. Enjoyed the pizza and the crepes! Loved this for our family visit to Old Montreal from Texas!

    An undersized very expensive pizza.

We ordered the margarita pizza and were expecting a long pizza that almost covers the board or a thick pizza like we saw in the other yelp photos. When we got it at the table we were saying to the waiter that it was allot smaller than we thought but it was late and we were hungry. As we were eating the pizza another customer who had been there before said that the pizza looked smaller than before. If you are coming to this location with a family of 4 and expecting the XL pizza to fill you for 50$ think again. When we finished the pizza we asked the waiter and even asked him why the pizza was so small and he kept saying that's the same size.It wasn't till I showed him a photo of what another person took showing the sizes of there different pizzas that he came out and said that was our XXL pizza and we said that's what we wanted and he said they no longer sell it. The pizza tasted good but very expensive for the size. Instead of offering a discount or maybe another regular size pizza all he could say was sorry. The ambiance was nice but that still doesn't make up for the food.

No. 900 on the edge of old Montreal (I think it is on McGill St) was such a treat! I got to know, in a very little way mostly, and more extensively in one case, all of the staff that run the front of house. Delightful, all of them! Kind of a graduate student crowd, very efficient, friendly, smart, and pleasant to talk to. I don't drink so I didn't try beverages. I was in town for the week so got to try several pizzas. The one that says it is spicy, is SPICY. I was at my limit but the delicious outweighed the spice and I did end up eating it all (in two sittings, not one!). I especially liked the milder italian sausage pizza and so wanted to try more of them.

It was a little busy and they were short-staffed so they did not come around much and it took a long time to get our food that time. But it was worth it. Pizza is very good. So we're the meatballs.

This is exceptional pizza created by an energetic and passionate staff. I have only been there once, but in that short visit it was obvious that the pizza reflects the people that work there ... creative, fun, unique, and welcoming. They sell several great pies and actually offer both slices and whole pies. I ordered a pepperoni and hot pepper pie but as I sat there I had to get a slice of their upside down pie. While they were both outstanding, I have to say, what I cannot stop thinking about was that upside down slice. That was freaking magical. Upside down pizza (cheese first, sauce on top) or stranger still, a double carb potato pizza. Speaking of, the potato pie is so good.
