We went through every obstacle together and every little milestone together , the program focuses on your child's individual needs and addresses their concerns, there is no judgment in this community on your child's behavior ! I walked in with him having the symptoms of hand flappin, mumbling, banging on toys, anger, kinda off in his own world. We were greeted and offered cookies gold fish crackers and coffee for myself. I started the paperwork while he played it was alot but I was able to take my time and not have to rush. Our 2nd appointment we were offered refreshments again and the test was play based so he didn't even know he was being tested. Dr Amirhoushmand even tested him while he played with bubbles so the hand flapping came out and him making his body rigid. They are so wonderful here and I feel my son is in good hands. The same day we got the diagnosis of level 2 autism.

The counselors at Central Counseling Services really helped me work through my grief and helped me learn how to process it. Without them, I'm not sure if I would have been ok. I might not have processed it or even accepted it as quickly as I did. I owe a great deal to Central Counseling and the counselors there. Some BIs appear to be inexperienced, and we've had difficulty getting timely responses from directors. The process has been more frustrating than helpful, and we feel like we're losing precious time for our son's development.

The focus during the sessions is to work on skills such as impulse control, transitions, and self maintenance (such as dressing himself). I love the transparency - I get to sit in the entire session and there is usually an assistant and a couple observers which is nice. It is nice because my son needs to become more comfortable in situations where more than just one other person is present. Since he started the OT sessions with Misael, my son's impulse control has improved noticeably. I am not sure why this facility overall has a low rank. However, the Autism Clinic has been terrific for my son. Without hesitation, if you are looking for OT to help your kiddo with ASD check out this place and ask for Misael.
