I went in for a DexaScan. The machine worked fine and the space is relatively well kept. I found the results useful, but thought the technician used them as an opportunity to provide borderline dangerous nutritional advice. This included recommending I take a 50,000 iU dose of Vitamin D without reviewing any bloodwork and telling me that I should not eat carbhohydrates because they are "for marathon runners." All that said, I'd probably go back for a check in and just ignore the bro science. read more

Went in to get a DEXA scan, RMR, and VO2max with Melissa. Had a great experience, communication was very clear and timely with what to expect and how to prepare. All tests were performed in a timely, efficient, and comprehensive manner. She coached me on my fitness goals and things to consider based on my data, of which you get a lot. If you love data and tweaking your training to get the best output, this is the place to go. Will definitely be back in 6 months to retest. Btw not really mentioned on the website, but for the VO2max test you can do treadmill or a bike. The bike is older and has pedals with Velcro straps-works fine enough for the test. Scheduled an appointment at 8am, the first of their schedule. Their reviews were very good upon review prior to scheduling. Website easy interface. Received a pre appointment text the night prior, all very good. Arrived 15 minutes early as this was first experience. The first impression was of a small store front business. One treadmill bike, and a dexascan machine. The office itself was well worn and modestly appointed, so reasonable. I was there for a dexasxan and VO2 Max. Tanya the technician arrived at 8:01am. Once she was settled I was shown to the corner area and positioned and a dexascan performed, about 4-6 minutes. Un beknownst to me she had double-booked a dexascan, so the woman with infant was "processed" between my two scheduled tests. Not appreciated and I should have been advised of immediately. The VO2 Max test, fitting and administration was good. I was expecting a more professional and private setting. Overall, this is/was a little underwhelming experience, however, ultimately, I received the data. I will not return and cannot highly recommend this business. read more

I had the Resting Metabolic Rate, VO2 max test, and a DEXA scan. Each of the procedures was explained so well before testing. After each test the results were exhaustively explained with lots of time for questions. Ivana was absolutely amazing! I would STRONGLY recommend her. I decided to try working with Composition ID ever since the Coronavirus lockdown had all gyms close, and being home all day made it hard to stick to a healthy diet. I workout almost everyday and eat healthy, but I've had a few stubborn pounds that wouldn't move so I really liked how the virtual coaching would help me by providing actual professional assistance. I'd heard of DEXA on YouTube and wanted to give it a try and I'm glad I found Composition ID. Mitch was there to greet me and explained what was going to happen and what I needed to do. I love Composition ID because the services that they provide make weight loss and maintenance easier and more efficient because it takes the guesswork/estimating out and tells you exactly where you are and what you need to do to get to where you want to be. How you use that information is completely up to you though. I've been for body composition analysis (DEXA) and for indirect calorimetry. DEXA is the gold standard in body composition analysis. Along with advice from Tiffany, the DEXA allowed me to adjust my nutrition and exercise goals to pretty much perfect accuracy. I believe my first DEXA was in February and the follow-up was 8 weeks later. During the first appointment she suggested that I increase my protein to 1gm per lb body weight and to try to eat cleaner. I did exactly that and when I went back for my follow-up, I had lost six pounds of fat and gained 3 pounds of muscle. I almost skipped the follow-up appointment because the scale only showed a 3 lb weight loss:-(. She's an exercise physiologist by the way. Once I got there and she gave me the results that I lost six pounds of fat, I was so happy!! My body also changed with that small change in body composition. I looked amazing. Unfortunately, I didn't keep up with protein right after exercise or 1 gm PRO/lb BW and I dropped my exercise routine down from 3-4 days per week to 2 (orange theory fitness). So at my next follow-up the DEXA showed that I had lost lean body mass. So the advice that she initially gave me, which was based on the DEXA, was perfect for me. It was individualized based on my DEXA. I've been a RD for ten years and I don't listen to everyone because I've heard things that don't make sense from many people including physicians, personal trainers, etc, but Tiffany is very knowledgeable about nutrition and exercise. From the indirect calorimetry, I learned that I have a pretty high metabolism for my age. That was nice. She also gave great advice for that. Composition ID has great prices compared to another place that I researched. Tiffany, the owner is very good at interpreting the results and providing recommendations. I think everyone with a weight goal should at least have an initial and follow-up DEXA at least once here. read more

The scan was interesting, and I got some important insight into my metabolism. But the "nutritional consultation" was torture. For about 200 bucks, you get to listen to advice you can get on a simple google search - more protein, track your food, intake, etc. I thought that my recommendation would be based more on my body composition, my age, something - but no. When I talked about retaining water, nothing was recommended. When I asked about specific foods to focus on, a general recommendation was given. I was blown away. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves charging people that kind of money and pretending that this constitutes as a consultation. Not knowledgeable at all. When asked about specifics on the report or what averages were, the response was vague, confused and uninformed. The consultants are not verified dietitians, rather have an online certificate to tell you to download an app and track your food. I'm just really disappointed. Nothing against the girl that saw me - she was a great kid, but I was looking for a professional opinion and concrete plan. All I got was percentage of of protein, carbs and fat, an app recommendation and some recipes. All stuff I could have gotten online for free. Could have used this money to pay for a few sessions with a personal trainer. I'd get the scan again to see my progress, but would not ever, and advise you not to, signup for nutritional consultation. Had my scan with Jen. The place was easy to find and the 760 N St NE address is great for GPS/Uber. The Windows have bright colored bubbles so it's easy to spot. I walked in 5 minutes beforehand and Jen greeted me by name. The scan is really quick and Jen was great at going over all the numbers and answering my questions.
