The programs are so much more than just working with a personal trainer- they are a personalized experience that is curated to you and your goals. I've learned so much about nutrition and exercise from my trainer, Kody, that I really would not have gotten any other way. He supported and encouraged me throughout the entire journey. I have been with Ultimate Performance for 13 weeks. I am extremely happy with what we have achieved so far. The approach they took me to get me to my fitness goal in such a short time is nothing short of a miracle! All of my friends are asking how I achieved my transformation in such a short time. I have been working out on my own for a long time. While I did see positive changes when I work out, I knew that getting the help of a personal trainer would be a more efficient use of my time. Ultimate Performance, and my trainer Emily, went above and beyond my expectations. Emily is very knowledgeable, she taught me about nutrition, proper workout form, kept me motivated, and held me accountable to our weekly goals. She went above and beyond, by helping me figure out a workout program that I can do at my home gym and at hotels when I am traveling. She even helped me pick out meals at restaurants are within my nutrition targets. She is also made the sessions fun and enjoyable. I went from considering workout as something I *have* to do, to something I love to do! Things that I really appreciate about the U.P. program that sets them apart: - Flexible with scheduling: They were very flexible with my travel schedule - Regular measurements: They take regular measurements and this helps us ensure that I am on the right track. It was also really nice to see the hard work that I put in, be translated in to numbers and progress pictures that kept improving as weeks went on. - Their app: The app makes it so much easy to track food, workouts, progress, and be in touch with the trainer. One of my concerns was that I would have to compromise a lot and change my lifestyle drastically to reach my goals (which were very ambitious). But Emily made sure that we gradually ramp up my workouts and nutrition targets. This made sure that the goals we set each week was achievable and I still was able to enjoy all the things that I used to do like going out to eat with my friends and travel. I have been a member of Ultimate Performance since November 2022, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Having had personal trainers fairly consistently over the past twenty-five year, i can represent iwth certainty that this one is unique. I am what might be classified as a young senior, and as a result, an increased risk of injury is to be expected. The personal knowledge of my trainer, Owen, is a source of great comfort. The coaching in not limited to weight training, instead during each of my visits, which is now three times per week, Owen reviews, nutrition, activity levels, personal choices, suppliments, just to name a few. In summary, Ultimate Performance and my trainer specifically, employ a holistic approach to wellness, of which weight trainer is a cornerstone. The decision to increase my session from 2 to 3 per week, was driven in large parts due to the results i was experience from our collective efforts, so increasing my workouts by an additional day, made such obvious sense. Owen designed, and continue to refine, my workouts to meet my specific needs and abilities, ensuring that i am always pushing myself, but never overexerting. I was truly impressed recently to learn that all trainers at my gym, were in turn receiving training form a leading member of the UP Training Team, continuing to develop/refine their knowledge base, which in turn benefits me personally. What sets Owen apart is his unwavering support and encouragement. He pushes me, while providing positive reinforcement, and helping me to recognize and celebrate event he smallest millstones. I've been training at UP Metro Center since October. I had 2 back-to-back accidents and spent a majority of last year in recovery. Once my doctor cleared me, he highly recommended that I needed to do weight training to strengthen my bones and muscles to help me maintain my health (I'm also very hypermobile so this would also benefit that). I've treated myself every now and then, but I never truly invested in myself so I looked into finding the best personal trainer I could. I came across UP and did extensive research on them and read as many articles and reviews and decided to visit the gym. Jeff kindly showed me around, patiently listened to my health and injury history. He didn't do some marketing, sales pitch. He actually talked to me like a human being and I appreciated that authenticity. I started my first very first session with Jonathan "Jonny" in October and he's been such a wonderful support system and encouragement. It makes the challenging sessions fun and enjoyable. I don't think I've ever left a session feeling like I got nothing. Also, as an autistic human, change can be very difficult, so if Jonny changed something up, it's done in a way that's not too drastic. He also checks in and ensures I'm eating well. Working with him has been a joy as I found that I never had to give up my safe foods. Actually, I started investing in what I ate and being more conscious about it which opened the doors for me to try new food. This was originally difficult for me being on the spectrum but the results I've been getting motivated me to eat better. What I loved was that I didn't have to give up my safe foods. I highly recommend Ultimate Performance Washington Metro. My trainer Emily has been fantastic in helping me to achieve my fitness goals and getting me back on track with proper nutrition. I'm already down 15 pounds in about 3 months and can see the results. UP is different from most gyms because the trainers really take their time to create customized workouts and help each member to meet their personal goals and nutritional needs. The biggest hurdle for me in my fitness journey has been staying on track with nutrition while traveling frequently for work and Emily has done a great job keeping me on track. I would give UP at Metro Center infinite stars if I could. The gym is impeccably clean and organized, and does not have that gym smell we all know. All their equipment is top of the line. Their location is easily accessible. But the main event, of course, is their bench of trainers. I have been working out with Emily for the last 13 weeks and she has been an outstanding source of support, inspiration, and motivation. I am not someone who likes to work out (at all) and the fact that I am not miserable (and am maybe even happy?) to go in 3x a week at 6:30am might be a miracle - and I have her to thank for it. Here's why: she is not a drill sergeant but pushes me just an inch above the line, every day. She watches my form like a hawk and observes and calls out the smallest correction I need to make to get the most out of a rep. And she has created a workout that has made me lose inches and % body fat week-on-week since I've started. I am getting stronger - I can see it and feel it - and the amount of weights we add every week to my workouts proves it. Emily is my favorite - of course - but here's what's really cool about UP. ALL the trainers there have a similar vibe. You can tell they like what they do, they like each other, and they like their clients... genuinely. They treat everyone like Emily treats me... motivating, pushing, watching, and getting everyone to their own next level. Every once in a while, when you finish a difficult set, you'll get a fist bump or a high-five from another trainer who just caught that you made progress on a specific exercise. Overall, there's just a warm, friendly, non-intimidating vibe from a team that - on face value - could appear intimidating because they are all in such insane shape and clearly know their stuff. They have a unique mix of lowkeyness in their demeanor (nobody is going to yell at you at UP), seriousness in their work, and levity in their delivery. We joke, we chat when we are resting in between sets, and everyone is welcome into the camaraderie they clearly share... Also, I love that it's a gym that is diverse with people of all ages, sizes, shapes, and - I assume - goals, working together to reach their personal best. It's true, UP is not the cheapest in town. But the saying is true: you get what you pay for and working with them has proven to be a phenomenal investment so, in the end, it's the best value I have ever found in any gym. I waited for the Metro Center location to open-- so glad I did, have been training with Jeff Dobos since they opened. It's an extremely personalized regimen of weights/nutrition and Jeff's attention to detail and commitment to excellence (both in running the gym smoothly and my progress) is really remarkable. He accommodates my erratic schedule, truly listens to help me achieve my particular goals, and (safely) pushes me much further than what I could do on my own. I have never made this kind of sustained progress at the usual group/boutique exercise classes. Definitely worth the investment- you get what you pay for! read more

8 weeks in and extremely satisfied with the results so far. Great personalized program with attentive trainers. Taylor keeps after me even on the off days. Clearly expensive but for the level of attention given, worth it so far. There are not many places where you've got the equipment to yourself and the trainer's undivided attention. I'd only recommend this if you're really committed to the transformation program and will stick to it. It's a lifestyle change, but well worth it. My experience at U.P. has been great. My trainer was Ahmari and he's one of the smartest people I've ever met. He's incredibly skilled at creating workout plans and making adjustments when needed. He takes the time to ensure proper form is maintained for each exercise and explains why we do certain certain movements instead of others. He's also very knowledgeable on the nutrition side of things as well and takes the time answer any questions I have. I have been training with Ultimate Performance for the past 18 weeks with Emily as my coach and trainer. Let's say... I'm not the easiest client. . I was completely sedentary, love ( present tense) cocktails and Uber eats , and the gym is usually the last place I want to be.. I have worked with several wonderful trainers in DC over the years, but Emily was having none of my nonsense from the start and determined to not allow me to waste my money. She consistently pushed me and challenged me to prioritize my fitness and weight loss goals , and when in the gym , would always find the opportunities for me to do just a little bit more than I thought I could, and much less, wanted to. The program works, and it really is as simple as " do what Emily says" and your goals would be reached. I put on some white jeans the other day ( one of my goals) and I looked pretty darn good if I say so myself . I'll be ready for my move to Rome next month. I have been a customer for just over a month and I really look forward to the sessions. The time spent here is focused, goal oriented and effective. This has been an amazing experience. Don't get me wrong....it isn't easy. None of it is easy. But it has made a genuine difference in our lives.
