I had a great experience with Derrick. He gave me a lot of tips and helped me reach my fitness goals. Above all else, he was really motivational. read more

I trained with Derrick for nine years. I believe he was starting out training when he was assigned to me at a gym. Over the years, his skill developed so much so that we could go two months without repeating the same exercise. He had a good combination of Isometric, weight, training, cardio, and help with nutrition to ensure that I would reach my goals. I've consistently said that he's the best trainer I ever had. Not to throw shade on the others, but to acknowledge his creativity, patience, and astute observation of my abilities. Somehow he could sense whether, when I said I couldn't do anymore, I was bluffing or I genuinely couldn't. I would recommend Derrick to anyone who is looking for a trainer no matter your level of experience. You won't be sorry you chose him. read more

I came across Derrick's website during a late night scroll one night and reaching out has been the best decision I've made in my fitness journey. I started working with Derrick this October, and have been pretty consistent on coming in 2 days/wk. When I started I was at around 17% body fat, relatively low daily energy and definitely not the best shape of my life. Today, I am down to 7% body fat in less than 2 months of working with Derrick and feeling better than ever. The training is a pretty good mix of traditional exercises and what I would best describe as "Derrick Specials". You will work muscles you've never paid much attention to and will definitely be a bit sore afterwards but it's all worth it. Just from the 2 sessions a week and following the diet plan set out by Derrick, I was able to max out the push-ups/plank in my Navy PRT and decrease my run time by over 1 minute. In these 2 months of working with Derrick, I've seen immense progress and have really never felt better in my own body. If you are struggling to find the right fit in DC, definitely give Derrick a try, I promise you won't regret it. read more

I started working out with Derrick a little over two years ago. The transformation has been remarkable. He was a tremendous encouragement from the very beginning, even if I thought he was maybe a little too ambitious on my behalf. (Turns out he wasn't. He knows how to get results!) I've lost a lot of fat, gained muscle, and feel fantastic. Even my gym bro friends are complimentary! Plus, I've gained so much confidence. I can go into a new gym and feel perfectly at home; I've learned such a variety of exercises that I can work out anywhere. Derrick keeps me motivated and knows how to get the best out of me. I absolutely love training with him! read more

2nd UPDATE: He has just edited his response to say he wants at least 30 minutes notice and I "canceled minutes before"... The time stamp on my screenshots proves my appointment was at 3pm and my text was received at 2:35pm. But even if I had canceled at 3:01pm, his nasty response to me was unwarranted. Further, my last-minute appointment was due to his schedule and not because I specifically requested that date and time for a consultation. I hope this is the last time I ever hear anything from or about this person, because every time he contacts me or amends his response to my review it causes me extreme anxiety. read more

Derrick is a game-changer! I have worked with other trainers in the past and felt like they would give me generic workouts that weren't sustainable and did not help me lose weight or gain the appropriate amount of muscle I wanted to look toned. After trying several trainers with no luck, I found Derrick. Not only is he about getting fit; he wants to make sure you do it safely and effectively so you can actually get results. Derrick tailors every workout to fit me perfectly, making them challenging yet enjoyable. I even saw incredible changes to my body in just a month. Even after reaching my initial goals, I have kept going because of how great I felt, and now I've been working out with Derrick for over a year. I would highly recommend him to anyone, whether you're a beginner or need some guidance. read more

I originally found Derrick via Yelp! and decided to work with him due to his many positive reviews. I'm glad to be able to add another. I have been working with Derrick for almost two years now and I truly can't say enough good things about him. From the very beginning, we mapped out my goals - for both diet and exercise, his holistic approach is key - and he has held me accountable ever since. He varies the workouts every time and keeps me on my toes, and always with a good sense of humor. His workouts are tough, but somehow always fun as well. After my experience training with Derrick these past two years, I honestly can't imagine working with anyone else. Could you find cheaper personal training sessions? Sure. But I see working with Derrick as an investment in my good health, and his services are totally worth the cost. read more

Derrick is the first personal trainer that I have worked with, and I only wish that I had done so sooner. In the past, I always considered working out to be a chore, but Derrick's style of circuit training is both challenging and engaging. The hour that I spend training tends to fly by, which is not something I can say about any other workout I've tried. Not only do I always leave in a good mood, but I can actually see and feel how much stronger I've gotten since I started working with Derrick, which is an awesome feeling. I also really appreciate Derrick's flexibility when it comes to working with his client's schedules. If you have to reschedule a session, Derrick will work to fit you in during a different time slot that week, no questions asked. He'll also train you virtually if you are out of town. I can't recommend Derrick highly enough! read more

Derrick is a top-notch trainer. He's knowledgable, attentive, insists on measurement, is flexible when schedules get complicated, and isn't shy about motivating you when you need a boost. I've made dramatic improvement under his coaching. Derrick gets my highest recommendation. read more

This is an update to my 2019 review, where I said that Derrick was the best trainer I've ever had. Three years--and 100+ sessions--later, I stand by every word. The workouts are hard, the progress is real, and Derrick's support and encouragement keeps me focused and on track. If there's one thing I'd add to my last review, it's this. Beyond the workouts and the nutrition advice and the motivation, Derrick is a genuinely good person. He cares about you. He can tell when you're having a bad day. He listens. And that's what makes him such an effective trainer. When you see somebody every week (give it take) for five years, you get to know them pretty well. And Derrick is a great guy. read more

Derrick and his program are awesome. I started working with Derrick about 7 months ago and have seen an amazing transformation in that time. I was out of shape and hadn't worked out in years when we started working together, yet now I'm in the best shape of my life--and I continue to see improvements in my physique and condition. Derrick's program has also been easy to follow, he's great to work with, and he has somehow managed to keep it varied and interesting as well. Put simply, Derrick is all-around top notch. I highly recommend him. read more

I have been training with Derrick for 6 months, at first twice/week and now once. He combines excellent physical training with dietary advice, in my case to decrease body fat and lose weight. I am currently training with Derrick virtually, which works out fine. Derrick is at the very top of several trainers I've had through the years. His style of circuit training makes it easier to accomplish difficult exercises. And his follow-up and advice on diet and developing my own exercise routines have been effective. I am on the way to achieving my longtime goals. Thanks Derrick! read more

I started working with Derrick at the end of September, eager to address some unhealthy habits that started because of Covid-19 and staying at home. From the first meeting, it felt like Derrick was already in my corner, advocating for me not just to lose weight and be healthy but I still a better approach to both physical and mental health. His flexible diet guidance, engaging exercises and "homework" has helped me lose nearly 5% body fat and really start to feel like I'm living a healthier life, even when I can't be outside all the time. Derrick is always willing to go the extra mile and teach new, challenging exercises, provide additional support and even walked me through installing equipment for my home gym to make sure I'm doing everything properly and safely. He adjusts the program to go at your pace and is super flexible when life events happen. Even with Covid-19 precautions, Derrick has adapted his program to make sure you see results and understand the basics while creating your ideal body. I can't thank Derrick enough and look forward to continuing my work with him (and hopefully get my husband to join when he's ready!) read more

My husband and I have been going to Derrick for a little over 6 months now. He's extremely effective - we have each lost 15-20 lbs and gained significant muscle. Our physiques have changed significantly, and for the better! I always feel great mentally and physically after a session. Derrick's approach is straightforward, so it's not always easy (the diet is the hardest), but the results speak for themselves. He gets things done, but he's also a really nice person and makes the sessions fun. Even when he introduces something new and difficult after 6 months! I know I'd never get the same results on my own, and I know it's absolutely worth his higher price point. Thank you Derrick! read more

I've been working with Derrick for 6 months now and he's everything I could ask for in a personal trainer. He's cheerful, motivational, extremely knowledgeable, patient, and most importantly, I've gotten great results working with him. Over the years, I've had four personal trainers, tried group classes, and tried working out on my own, but was never satisfied with the results. In my first twelve weeks with Derrick we focused on fat loss, and I went from 5'9" 162.4# at 20%bf to 136# at 9%bf. I spent the next twelve weeks working on muscle gain and got up to 160# at 13%bf. That's a total of 11.7 pounds of fat loss and 9.3 pounds of muscle gain in 6 months, and I couldn't be happier. My photo shows day 1, results after 3 months, and results after 6 months. The workouts are intense, but I always look forward to them. A lot of the exercises are probably ones you've never done before (including some that Derrick has patented), and they're generally challenging and fun. I liked learning new exercises because I don't want to pay a trainer to just watch me run on a treadmill or do bench presses. Derrick had me do a range of exercises from TRX to free weights to machines to bodyweight exercises to boxing, with more challenging workouts as I progressed. He seamlessly customized each workout to exactly what you need, making adjustments as things went along based on how I was doing. Diet is a huge part of getting the results you want, and I've always been confused about what I should and should not be eating. Derrick didn't force a meal plan on me, but instead gave me some guidelines and taught me how to plan for myself. Derrick had me log my meals for him to review and make sure I was on track and keep me honest. I'm vegan and was concerned that a trainer might not know how to accommodate that. But the flexible approach Derrick takes to nutrition can be customized to anyone's needs and lifestyle, so that turned out to be a non-issue for me. Derrick lets you go at your own pace, so you can do more frequent sessions and "extra credit" (e.g., further lowering your intake of calories) if you want results faster. I followed Derrick's instructions closely, including all the extra credit, and the results were great without me having to do much thinking about it once I learned the basics. Pros: -Gets results -Fun, varied workouts -Punctual -Cheeful, engaging, and motivational -Knowledgeable Cons: -Not everyone can afford his rates, but he's worth every penny if you can -If you're an early morning person, he doesn't offer workouts at that time Overall: Working with Derrick is one of the best decisions in my life. read more

I have finally found a program that works and that I can stick to. The workouts are challenging and ever-changing so they never get old or boring. The diet is easy to understand and produces results. If you are willing to listen, put in the work at the gym, and follow the diet at home, you will see results FAST! Another great part of training with Derrick is the gym. The gym is private- for clients only- so it's not crowded and there is no pressure or judgement. If you are serious about your health and fitness, I encourage you to visit Derrick and see if his program is right for you. Before finding Derrick I felt that I was at a standstill with my weight, it felt like nothing was working and I didn't have the tools to make the changes that I wanted to see in myself. I felt a bit hopeless- and then Derrick changed everything. From day one he took the time to explain to me my nutrition plan, he taught me about caloric deficits and how to measure measure protein to calorie ratios, in addition to teaching me what foods will help me achieve my weight loss goals. Derrick has given me a toolkit for getting fit that I will carry with me for the rest of my life- this is truly an invaluable lesson. I now look at food differently & am so much more conscious of what I'm putting into my body. I look forward to every session with Derrick. I know that it's going to be very tough and I'll be pushing myself but afterwards I walk out feeling fantastic. The sessions are structured nicely and include a mix of different types of workouts targeting different muscles, including a "push" and "pull" and some cardio that always gets my heart pumping. The exercises are varied, dynamic, creative, & effective. One of my favorites is when he incorporates kickboxing into the exercises. Derrick is a fantastic motivator, he is tough in the sense that he will ensure that you are giving your best effort throughout the exercise and performing them properly- no slacking allowed here. But he is also very encouraging and allows me to take short walk breaks when I really need them, that way I can get back to the exercise ready to give 100% again. I've felt physically strong for the first time in years- my confidence grows with each session with Derrick and with each pound lost. I've not only lost weight, but I've gained muscle, and I can see it on my body and feel it when working out with Derrick. I've seen a dramatic change in my body with my weight loss and my friends & family tell me that I'm "shrinking" each time they see me. If you want results, someone to teach you lifelong lessons of how to get and stay fit, and to start feeling more confident in your body again, Derrick is the trainer for you. Whenever I get comments about my weight loss or how great I'm looking lately, the first thing that I tell them is that I have an awesome personal trainer who has made all the difference. And it's true. I'm really grateful for Derrick because with out him I believe that I would still be stuck in that rut of seeing no results. read more

Bench gym is where it's at! Dominic is an awesome trainer, and Derrick has refined the process for incredible results. I don't like taking before/after pics because it is more about how I feel. I lost around 18lbs in 2 months. I feel great because of my new diet, much less bloated and very motivated. My partner is loving it! I need a new wardrobe. Dominic trains me hard, but is very safe because of his P/T background. He is on top of things at the gym, and always makes training fun and challenging. And he loves soccer even more than I do lol! Piece of advice: if your program does not include nutrition changes, you're wasting your time. Eg, CrossFit was a great community feel but too competitive and didn't get me results. Derrick starts there and then Dominic has made my muscles bulge already. read more

Derrick is an amazing trainer! If you want results, he's the trainer for you. Derrick is awesome, I have been to other trainers before but have never seen the same kind of results. Derrick challenges me while also meeting me where I am. Derrick is awesome. I needed to burn off some holiday weight and get on a maintainable diet. Derrick gave me the structure accountability and coaching I needed. He also had some great natural supplement recommendations that really helped! I wouldn't have known about them otherwise. Now my husband is working with him, I've lost over 20lbs of fat and gained about 15lbs of muscle according to before/after DEXA scans! Treat Yo Self. It's worth it. read more

My wife and I did partner training with Derrick for 24 sessions over 4 months and the results were incredible. First of all, Derrick starts your program with a focus on nutrition and how to be in a caloric deficit while managing your macros to lose fat and gain muscle. He monitors your food consumption through an app and keeps you honest by doing weekly weight and body fat check-ins. There is no way to hide an extra donut or cupcake in your diet - he'll know by the change in your weight and body composition - total accountability. Then he puts you through an amazing workout routine. Plyometrics, TRX, dumbbells, jump rope, machines - you name it. He keeps the workouts fun and engaging and you seldom repeat the same move. The best part was the last class - he took measurements, showed us how much progress we made, and created a short video that compared the change in our bodies during the program. We were shocked by the results - we lost 32 lbs combined and leaned out like crazy! The program changed our entire approach on how to be healthy, so the results are sustainable. My wife and I eat healthier and are more conscious of the calories in certain foods. Four months with Derrick changed our lifestyle, and we will never go back. I know it can sound scary, but don't be too concerned, we still eat most of the things we love, but we just manage our portions better and balance meals over the course of the week. Although Derrick is on the expensive side, you can't beat the results. I did a personal training package at my normal gym, and while the workouts were fun, the trainer was not as vested in my success. Derrick expects you to be fully committed during the program and has a common goal of getting you results you want. While I'm sure he loves long-term clients that want consistent motivation, he was completely comfortable with us finishing the program and moving on, which is not what most personal trainers want. The gym is private and usually has less than 6 people at a time, so we felt pretty comfortable, even during the time of COVID. read more

I can't say enough positive things about training with Derrick. He's obnoxious when he needs to be and is kind when it's helpful. I always felt like he was just as invested in my fitness as I was, and that made me more invested. People say all the time that you can't out train your diet but they don't mention just how much of a challenge that diet can be. Derrick gets it and will push you to progress no matter how hard it may feel that day. He helped me reach my goals and even come up with new ones that I previously thought were impossible. He's the best. read more

I have never been motivated to exercise, so I figured getting a personal trainer was the way to go. I now look forward to my workouts with Derrick! I had envisioned a drill sergeant type bossing me around, but he is not like that at all! He pushes me to work harder, but without surpassing my limits. While I had/have goals for weight loss, it hasn't been so much about what the scale says. I notice that I feel healthier, and have more energy. I am complimented on the work I've done so it's obviously noticeable to others. I have also struggled with back pain for years and despite seeing 3 different physical therapists, this is the first time I've felt relief! My intentions were to see him for three months, then begin exercising on my own, however, he is always teaching me new exercises, so I have continued seeing him on a weekly basis. Lastly, Derrick is simply a good guy. I enjoy our chats and funny banter during my workouts. If anyone is ever looking for a great experience with a personal trainer, I definitely recommend him! read more

I came to Derrick after trying a few other options to knock the weight off. I had signed up for OTF and hired a nutritionist to help me purge the weight gain that had me blossom from my typical 120lbs to 152lbs. I lost some of the weight by getting on a very restrictive diet (too restrictive!!) with a nutritionist and working out an average 8 times a week. Down to 140 and then... nothing... the great "plateau". It didn't matter how much I worked out or that I was essentially eating only grilled chicken and salad every day, the weight loss stopped. Enter Derrick, who told me I can eat what I want (within the parameters of a far easier nutrition plan) and cut back on my number of workouts to 4 times a week. I was skeptical... how could eating what I wanted and working out less get me over the hump?! Well I am now halfway through my 3-month workout plan and I have lost 12lbs and my body fat has dropped from 28% to 21% BREAKING the "great plateau"! So... I get to eat what I want, work out less, and get the results I have been struggling to achieve and feeling way better as a result. Posting pictures because I know that seeing the results others have achieved gave me the motivation to sign up. read more

Derrick was recommended to me by no less than 15 people in personal conversations over the course of 10 years. I can say that they were spot on. I was not able to stick around for very long, as a family emergency happened that torpedoed my ability to continue, but I can say with certainty that Derrick is the best I've ever seen in personal training. First, he takes several sessions to teach you about your body, about how to consume food with some semblance of control and a goal. I really appreciate someone who teaches, not just demonstrates. Second, he was careful to do the whole gamut of exercises, starting with the unconventional (some I had never seen, despite years of trainers), and always kept it interesting and friendly. In just a few sessions with him, I already saw my body contouring, my body fat percentage dropping, and my tone coming back to me. Third, he is a genuinely good person, and you know, if you're going to be spending that amount of money on something, it helps to know it's going to someone you genuinely respect and see as a good person underneath it all. I'll warn you: He isn't overly friendly beyond demeanor -- he's not going to become your friend outside of class, and in unspoken ways, he makes it clear that it is a purely professional relationship and that you and he are there for one purpose: work out. He isn't going to give you more than the time you've allotted, and he will be very busy. He's all business. He's also kind of a hard ass: but I think that's probably intentional. Don't walk in expecting him to trust you. He probably wouldn't be a good trainer if he did. If you're looking for results -- and you can afford him -- then you should absolutely use Derrick's training services. He's truly the best trainer I've ever found. read more

Derrick is amazing! His knowledge of nutrition and physical training makes for a great combination. He is really focused on your goals and will achieve them in a way that works with your life and work situation. He understands that you cannot out train a bad diet and helps you keep a focus on lifestyle and habits which is super helpful. He has also been very flexible and understanding of scheduling changes and personal emergencies making him stand apart from other cookie cutter Physical trainers. He also has a wicked sense of humor. Thanks Derrick! read more

I cannot recommend Derrick highly enough. Over the past three years, I've tried all sorts of diets and fitness programs to try to lose weight. I even signed up with another highly reputable trainer in DC. I trained with him for 6 months and got more fit, but my weight stayed about the same. I started to think I was just going to have to live with the extra 15-20 pounds. As a last-ditch effort, I signed up with Derrick. In only 3 months, I've lost more than 15 pounds and 7% body fat. Derrick's program focuses both on nutrition and exercise. The first session, he gives you the minimum requirements to lose the weight and tone up, and then tells you what you can do for "extra credit" to make the process go faster. The weekly weigh-ins/body fat measurements keep you accountable, and he also checks up on your diet throughout the week with an app. I followed his program really carefully and am seriously amazed at how well it works and how sustainable it is. I'm not spending hours and hours in the gym, and I'm not giving up foods I love. Derrick is also just a super fun and entertaining person. I look forward to the training sessions and I always leave in a good mood. The new facilities where he's training are great and easily accessible. Honestly, I could go on and on. Signing up with Derrick was the best decision I've ever made for my health. I only wish I'd done it sooner. read more

First I'll say that Derrick is hands down the best personal trainer I've ever had. The training is worth every penny and I've seen amazing results in my first three months with him. With most personal trainers, the basic thing you get is motivation to go to the gym. If that's your primary issue, it might make sense to start with a cheap trainer at your local gym first to start getting into the habit. But beyond that very basic motivation, training with Derrick has had a few key advantages for me: 1. Professional knowledge and advising 2. Regular measurement to track goals On my first point: usually with trainers you just go to the gym and cycle through whatever machines they have on the floor and just do exercises at whatever weight and then you're done. Derrick, on the other hand, is a professional bodybuilder and ex-military. He knows EXACTLY what you need to do and how hard you need to do it to see results. In the gym, we rarely do standard exercises, unless they have been proven to be very effective at accomplishing whatever our goal is for that day. Along with the in the gym experience, Derrick builds you a full diet plan and gives you quick and easy tips to manage it so it becomes almost effortless. You will get NOWHERE without a proper diet and very very few people know what that means. It's not eating kale and "superfoods" or any of that stuff. He has very simple rules to follow to get results. The second difference, measurement, is what keeps me motivated and coming back for more. Each week I weigh in and he measures my body fat. He keeps records of my progress week to week and this lets me see how and where I am improving. Since improvements with workouts are incremental, it can be hard to realize how much progress you are actually making unless you measure. I would rather let a professional do the body fat measurement so that I know that it will be accurate. The ONLY downside with Derrick's current setup is golds gym. It's definitely not as nice as you would hope it would be for what you pay. This is the reason I am rating four stars instead of five. Derrick says he is currently planning on opening up his own studio in the next couple years and I look forward to that. Aesthetics aside, I would 100% recommend Derrick to anyone who wants to get serious results but doesn't have the time to become their own professional. read more

Derrick really got me together. I had been pretty fit through my 20s and then work, life, and a surgery that sidelined me for months caught up with me. I was out of shape and didn't feel like myself. After 3 months with Derrick, I saw a major difference. We met twice a week and I'm not going to front, it was hard as hell at first. Derrick helped me figure out what I should be eating and coached me through workouts to help me get the body I wanted. It's a simple formula really. Now we meet once a week and it's been 5-6 months. I'm down 15-20 pounds (depends on the day and how responsible I'm being) and 3 dress sizes and I feel strong. I can't even remember life before being Instagram-ready. And I'm not trying to go back, so my prime time slot will never become available--sorry! read more

I usually don't leave reviews but this one is totally a must. I have been training with Derrick since 2011 and I would like to say that I have had other trainers before but nothing is comparable to Derrick's work out (I mean it). Derrick is a very motivated and fun person to train with. He is always pushing you to do your best, he is very resourceful and he always provides you with the best information that is out there regarding fitness and nutrition. I would really like to mention that I have never feel or seen this good shape of my body as when I'm training with Derrick. It is incredible how he plans these amazing workouts which will help you achieve whatever your goal may be. He know exactly how to turn your body into the best way possible, making you feel better, healthy and motivated constantly. Thanks to Derrick I'm now very into having a better health, exercise more and sports. Thank you for your hard work :) read more

Typical personal trainer: repetitive, boring, flaky, lots of yelling and giving up inside of 4 weeks because you are not seeing or feeling results. Derrick is none of these things. Each workout is unique. You FEEL the workouts - and the results of the workouts - and you enjoy them. You'll also get taught what you should and should not eat, and yes there is room for a beer or glass of wine every so often. Also - my schedule is all over the place and Derrick is more than willing to accommodate inconsistent weekly timings. It's an education and one you'll want to stick with. Do it! read more

I've hired a few personal trainers throughout the years, but I've never had the success I've had with Derrick Inglut. In the first two months, I lost over 10 pounds and, most importantly, changed the way I eat. I've always thought I could eat what I want as long as I work out, but he's definitely making me smarter about the importance of a good diet. He is always available to provide advice on healthy food choices and seems to have an alternate low calorie option for just about everything. Derrick's workouts are always different and fun (as fun as a hard workout can be!) and I look forward to a new challenging workout every session. Hiring Derrick Inglut has been one of the best self-improvement decisions I've ever made... Thank you, Derrick! read more

I've been working with Derrick for about a year now and over the course of that time, he has helped change my life. I've always been overweight, as long as I can remember. Never a big fan of exercising or "eating right," I just assumed my lot in life was to be that way. Derrick has completely changed my view. I've worked with several other trainers over the years and ended up leaving them mainly for one reason, I got bored. It's the same thing session after session with no results. I have yet to be bored in a single workout with Derrick. Each one is unique, interesting, tough, and results oriented. He consistently pushes you to your limits and then makes you realize you have more to give. Over the course of the year, I have lost over 60 lbs and more than 15% body fat. I continue to be amazed at what I've been able to accomplish and am encouraged to keep going knowing that I can achieve my goals - something that Derrick reinforces every time I workout. Derrick's guidance has helped me change my eating habits and lifestyle in general. He's taught me a different way to think about food and which decisions are better than others. I eat for fuel now and (as best possible) avoid empty calories and sugar that used to be my go to. I run 15-20 miles a week and spin 2-3 class a week. I now thoroughly enjoy being active and healthy. It's not possible to say enough good things about Derrick - his professionalism, knowledge, and encouragement show in every positive improvement he helps me make in my fitness. read more

This is what you need. Was a fat tub of goo with a torn tendon wanting to lose 30 pounds for a major life and career event five months away. Completely changed my nutritional outlook with a workable and effective diet plan, provided intense workouts emphasizing lots of different muscle groups simultaneously, and I lost over 40 pounds, and can envision losing even more. I especially appreciate the flexibility that accommodates the last minute changes in schedule busy DC people have. Worth the extra price for that alone. read more

I LOVE training with Derrick and totally look forward to my sessions. He's inventive and challenging. Not only does he work on sculpting your body, but he looks at your diet and calorie intake. The results with him are amazing. In three weeks I've dropped over 4 lbs and all of my clothes fit better. I've had other trainers before and Derrick is the best I've had. He's focused, his exercises are creative, he pays attention to my diet, cheers me on.... During our workouts, he's 100% focused on me and my goals. If you are ready for a change in your body, he is the guy to see for help! read more

Can't say enough good things about the personal training sessions with Derrick! I am always a little nervous at the beginning of our session because I'm never really sure what he's going to have me do. In the end he makes me work harder than I've ever worked and each session gets more and more challenging based on my ability level. I love that every single workout has been completely different. I feel myself getting stronger every week. When you first meet with Derrick he customizes a diet and workout plan for you. He has a lot of tips and tricks on how to maintain the diet and also still have a social life. To date I have lost 14 pounds (over about 7 weeks) and about 4% in body fat. The best part is that his approach is designed for you to maintain these results vs. rebound like other programs. Derrick is optimistic, creative and always looking for new ways to help you improve. I would recommend his services to anyone who is serious about making a positive change in their lives. read more

I have been training with Derrick for 4 months now. I am down 35lbs, down from 40-30% body fat, following a well-designed but simple diet, and losing inches. I am someone who has never trained or stuck to a gym regime - i hate working out. But i have done well and worked well with Derrick. He is friendly but firm. He listens and tailors the program to who you are and what you want to accomplish. He pushes for sure and I'm doing more than ever. Whatever your fitness level do not be afraid to try his program. It works. read more
