About a year and half ago my blood pressure was 160/80 (VERY HIGH FOR MY AGE). I was actually…read morerushed to a hospital because they thought I was having a heart attack, given the pains I was feeling in my chest. The hospital ran its own tests and, luckily, it was not a heart attack. In that moment, I knew I needed to make changes in my life. During the time I had experienced the chest pains, I was studying for the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exams and working at an accounting firm. My work days ran really late, which is probably similar to many people in the CD Fit class. I also maintained a horrible diet, consisting of fast food and greasy Haitian food, and did minimal exercise. The amount of mental and physical exhaustion that I was experiencing at this time greatly contributed to my blood pressure being high. I then decided that my health had to be priority if I wanted to get the fullness of life, so I decided to leave that firm and continue my life in the DMV. A friend told me of the CD Fit class since they had been doing CD Fit for a while, and they shared with me the class link and told me about their experience with it so I tried out the free period membership pass. I literally almost passed out my first day in CD Fit. In fact, I was told to lay down and put my legs up to get blood to my upper body. Nevertheless, I didn't give up. Clarance, who is the owner and trainer of CD Fit really pushed the class members to fight for their health. Certain exercises seemed unusual but were doable. The women in the class out did me most of the time but as I got stronger I noticed that I did better. I continued to come after the first day and gave it my all again, although I felt like passing out. I didn't want to be embarrassed again so I kept the passing out part to myself and recovered in my car. My endurance was at an all-time high and my body striations were more visible than anytime before. I had lost 30 pounds - from 189lbs to 159lbs and my blood pressure was much better at 128/73. These results are due to the CD Fit training which helps with the physical build and informing participants about eating better through healthy, lean meals. Its an all in one fitness strategy that has gotten me closer to my health goals.

I hadn't worked out in a long time and this was REALLY tough, but I felt like it was okay to start where I started. Updated review - the guy who runs runs CD Fit (Clarence, not the Silver Spring trainer) was completely obnoxious to me by phone. I told him and he never apologized. Too bad. Changed my review from five to two stars. Poor customer service for something you liked is the worst. But, the money goes to the obnoxious guy ... so I can't recommend that.

I've been working out with Jeff twice a week for 2 1/2 years. He is fantastic. He works me hard,…read morepushes me beyond what I thought I was capable of, and has helped make my whole body work better. As important, I like spending time with him. He is friendly, smart, interesting and has a big heart. I'm a man in his early 50s who had never done any systematic strength work. While I was reasonably fit from weekend bike rides and bike commuting, my knees and back were often achy. On weekend hikes (another favored activity), my knees always hurt on the way down. I had two goals when I started working with Jeff: to strengthen my legs so my knees would hurt less and to strengthen my core and upper body to combat the ravages of middle age. While it took almost two years of systematic work, my knees (which had hurt for almost 40 years) don't hurt anymore. Jeff figured out ways for me to strengthen my legs that worked around my achy knees until they stopped aching. He is very attentive to the way my body responds to each exercise and knows the difference between good pain and stop-now pain. Here's a before and after picture: When I started working out with Jeff, I could only do a few squats with an unweighted bar on my shoulders before my knees would seize up. No wonder they hurt when I hiked (or went down stairs or bent down to pick things up)! Today, I can squat almost 200 lbs. That wasn't really a goal, just something that happened along the way. Jeff helped me blow away my first goal: my knees don't just hurt less, they don't hurt at all. I also wanted to fight the weakness and balance issues that accompany aging. Through my work with Jeff, I am stronger and have better balance than at any time in my life. My posture has improved (a side effect of a stronger core) and my wife doesn't tease me anymore about my belly sticking out. When I began with Jeff, a set of simple 10 or 15 second planks left me breathless. Today, I don't think I'd even break a sweat. I feel very lucky to have found Jeff. I encourage you to give him a try.

I have been a client of his for 1 year and train with him several times a week. He has kept each of my sessions interesting and very challenging and has catered them to meet my goals. Prior to working with Jeff, I had a hard time getting motivated and would get bored with exercising in general, but this has yet to happen in Jeff's sessions. Jeff keeps me motivated with challenging and different sessions each time we meet. Jeff is really on point at measuring how hard to push me, advising me on my form and is incredibly receptive to any feedback I may have. Jeff also provides me with helpful advice on the type of exercise I need to do on my own when we do not meet. Training with Jeff is one of the best decisions I've made for myself in general. He's an incredibly balanced person and an excellent trainer. I always get a workout that I would not get in a group setting or on my own. If you're looking for a genuinely good person, an excellent trainer who will inspire you, and results, I recommend that you try training with Jeff!

I went to his indoor and outdoor classes and I saw how serious he was about a good 10-minute warm-up, then the workout, and a 10-minute cool down. In my running clubs, I get my cardio in. With his workouts, I get everything from agility, speed, strength, functional workouts, etc. I always leave his class feeling challenged but accomplished. Pete is professional and also very approachable. He connects with everyone in his classes by being encouraging, checking on your form, pushing you but also providing alternatives when necessary. He keeps it going so that nobody is left behind. When I was injured he checked in to make sure I was ok and he has also kept me accountable when I accidentally missed classes which is great because it shows you are not just a number but that he wants to see you succeed. He also offers track workouts and does trail runs so looking forward to 2024 with ASC!

SweatBox is intense, well-structured, and thoughtfully run. The music and variety keep me coming back. Providing ear plugs and cold eucalyptus towels are the many small touches that go a long way during this high-energy HIIT workout. Coach Gwen and Coach Mike are excellent instructors -- clear, motivating, and attentive to form. There are 3 other class studios and dozens of more fitness classes. I have enjoyed the yoga classes, especially Restorative and Deep Stretch. Chris also runs a great BodyPump class -- strong pacing and consistent energy. I still wish reformer and sweatbox were included since the price for the gym isn't cheap! The facility is always well maintained and clean. i love the saunas, though those have broken a few times the management is always quick to repair the wait is usually part related. They have a wide variety of gym equipment and weight, squat racks, etc. they also offer personal training, which I have met a few of the trainers who are super nice and welcoming. It's great to workout at a gym where you are welcomed and get to know the front desk and staff. Overall, would highly recommend.
