I have tried many sources of PT and they are the best. Their new office is beautiful and Dr. Lauren Collins is highly skilled.

But to start: He genuinely cares about his patients. Not just the one on one care for PT, but as you as a person! I get to spend an hour with him and have really good conversation along with getting excellent care. He is very "hands on" which I appreciate. He listens to your concerns. And he goes hands-on whether it be massage or be cupping. And then gives you exercises and make sure you don't leave until you understand what you have to do. I even convinced my own wife to give Jordan a try as her PT and she truly understood what I was talking about. The front office staff is always helpful and polite Every time I call she picks up immediately and it's very helpful. They take my type of insurance which would be a dealbreaker if they did not accept Blue Cross Blue Shield. Every appointment with Dr Jordan, I leave feeling heard, encouraged, and like real progress is being made. If you're looking for a PT who will treat you like a whole person and not just a case file, look no further. Highest possible recommendation! It'll be a sad day when I no longer have any PT issues. Because I won't have an excuse To come here.

It was a cold Saturday morning in February and I was cutting it close to get to spin class. I…read moreparked and sprinted the two blocks to the studio and the frigid air hit my exposed calves below my 3/4 length workout pants like a brick. Didn't think anything about it until I felt a tug in my right calf within the first two minutes of spin class. I let it heal for several weeks but it never quite felt right. For months, I had a nagging tightness. Not pain, but lingering soreness. Stay with me here. I re-tore my ACL on my left knee a few years ago and opted not to have surgery again. For the most part, It's fine because I "retired" from the sport that caused the injury, but it's occasionally wobbly and my knee randomly pops out of place. So I decided to do what I should have done years ago and go to physical therapy to work on strengthening the muscles around the knee. Hope you're still with me, just trying to set the stage for why Rose Physical Therapy is amazing. I'd met the husband of the owner at a Yelp event and he mentioned that his wife has a physical therapy business. Looked up the business later and saw that it had solid positive reviews. Also saw their business cards at Pacers Running and the employee also had good feedback. I made an appointment at Rose and was assigned to Laura based on my symptoms and her specialties. The DuPont office is bright, clean and modern. It sounds weird to comment about the aesthetics, but it really contributes to the experience and my comfort level. Laura is amazing--she takes the time to listen to where I'm having issues, especially during our initial session. Highly recommend! While I thought only my knee needed work, I mentioned where I continued to have calf tightness and she took a look. She explained where the muscles around an injury can lock up and if not loosened up, stay tight even when the original strain heals. During sessions, she works on those tightened muscles with some kind of sculpting tool, does dry needling to release some of the knotted, triggered areas, and then we do a series of exercises to build up strength and stability. I need to be better about doing the exercises at home to help speed along my recovery, but from the office visits alone, my problem areas are improving and I'm so glad I finally made that first appointment to get started. If you've got a nagging issue that you've been putting off addressing, go to Rose and get yourself right!

I didn't think I'd be walking again and I am now able to do everything I was before. I was amazed; she is a miracle worker! Very attentive, very responsive, patient, kind. I have a terrible memory so Kat would give me detailed emails as to what to do for my weekly and daily exercises and stretches at home. Wonderful PT, wonderful place. Space has a good vibe, clean but not clinical, professional but warm, friendly and responsive staff, easy to get to by bus or metro. Above and beyond the treatment you will find at most physical therapy places (believe me I know from experience). Cannot recommend enough.

Similar to another poster, I spent around 15 minutes with Chris per session and even less when he was late (often 10-15 min after my appt time) getting me from the waiting room. He'd juggle 3 patients at once (nobody else at the clinic did this) and even when he didn't have this many patients I was alone while he was on the other side of the clinic or he just disappeared completely. When I brought up concerns about pain (not muscle pain or soreness), he'd just brush off my concerns and rush through my questions. Older reviews mentioned how friendly the pts are but this was not my experience. Chris was nice at first but then was checked out. Most of the time he was either glued to his computer looking at restaurant menus or chatting with his friends who came to see him. The final straw was hearing him make completely inappropriate comments.

So read that stance again- this practice TAKES INSURANCE. For most people that means nothing- there's an assumption of we have insurance so a practices should take it. As an insurance accepting practice myself- that is NOT how it works. Small medical practice's (solo woman owned / mom and pop establishments etc like this one)- take a HUGE hit when accepting insurance contracts for their reimbursement. At this point many small business are getting paid HALF of what their cash only / self pay only counterparts are getting paid. Also- keep in mind, an insurance contract doesn't increase with inflation, cost of living, rising employer salaries etc.... I give the business lesson because it's only fair for people to be informed as to why a business structure is what it is for the sake of survival... Now on to the actual PRACTITIONERS- this staff is honestly saving people from surgeries, worsening conditions, and maladaptive body patterns... I've been working with them for 8-9 years and my mom now drives from VA to go to them as well. They're priceless in their cleanliness, knowledge, anatomy and functionality awareness plus FULL body attention. I cannot express how many times a DOCTOR or SURGEON has sent me in for an issue- and they've figured out it's stemming from somewhere totally different ! They also are certified to do dry needling and that's PRICELESS !!

Turning 96 in June 2024, I have had excellent health but experienced a number of minor injuries…read moreconducive to using physical therapy. So I had had previous experience with this kind of treatment. The time I spent at Star was the best. To begin with, the facility is pleasant, with large windows, and very well laid out so that three or four therapists can work freely with patients with different levels of need. The atmosphere is welcoming and exudes a sense of community, working together to produce comfort and high performance. Sam Dozier, receptionist and Therapist Aide, greets people warmly, tirelessly arranges schedules to suit your convenience, and throughout your time there offers compassionate support. I worked alternately with Kyra Corradin and Aysha Ehsan. To sum up, I found them to be kind, caring, and focused. They are professionals with a special understanding of the power of movement to refresh and restore. Although work in the sessions is directed to particular areas of the body, the target is the whole person, not just a sore neck or knee. Kyra and Aysha began each session by asking how I was feeling that day with an interest not only in physical issues, but also in my spirits and general outlook. Their goal was to make me feel better through movement specifically directed to areas needing attention. If I indicated pain in a particular area, they would begin by massaging that spot, literally demonstrating the common expression, "I can feel your pain." I always did feel better after my sessions. However, both therapists strongly emphasized the importance of taking personal responsibility for learning and doing prescribed exercises at home. I thought they were great teachers, very good practitioners of their trade, and good at motivating me to carry on the lessons ourselves.

I went to STAR to get help with stretching, to be able to do the splits for competition dance…read morepurposes. Stretching on my own was losing its effectiveness and I wanted to see if there was a deeper problem that needed professional help. I had appointments with both Kathy and Annie. Unfortunately my first few experiences weren't that positive as far as the therapists being on time (for one appointment I had to wait 30 mins, due to traffic. But imagine if it was the reverse, I'm sure I would have been charged as a no show or wouldn't have been able to still have my appointment that day). It was a bit odd working with 2 therapists, as it seemed they both had their own approach to PT that didn't always line up with the other's instruction. Annie was nice and pleasant to work with. However, after about a month of going twice a week every week, I asked if she thought the sessions were what I needed (because they aren't cheap!) She recommended yoga. My last comment is regarding their billing practices. I paid the first bill in the office, and received the second bill in the mail. However the bill stated it was already past due. I called the office to pay and asked why the bill was past due. I was given some excuse about the way the insurance payments hit. That's unacceptable to me and has never happened in all of my adult life. Overall the experience going to STAR was one I didn't feel I benefited from, and could have saved a lot of time and money.

I wish I could give negative stars…read more This place is a classic example of the exploitative nature of our country's healthcare system, which is an issue bigger than myself and Yelp reviews, so, with that in mind, I will boil it down to: If you don't have a copay or have a high deductible plan, expect to pay DOUBLE what they quote you per visit. Their practices are misleading, opaque, and intentionally exploit (and perpetuate) the consumer's ignorance about the services they receive... but this is something you only get to experience when you actually have to look at your medical bills, and they know you probably won't. Before I even realized any of this, I found another PT (Washington Wellness) that quoted me the exact same fee per visit and, crazy enough(!), that was how much I was charged. Shocking, I know. On top of that, the services they offered were far superior. Is it just ironic that they both quoted me the exact same price yet Physiotherapy Associates charged me twice that amount while providing me with fewer services than WW? Yeah, probably. In sum... if you have a high deductible plan (or worse, no insurance), do NOT go here. I would also recommend not going here if you don't feel like supporting a business that perpetuates the corrupt and exploitative nature of our current healthcare system. There are many places that can offer you the same/ better treatment who deserve your money far more.

This place is excellent!…read more I came here after starting off with a horrible PT and about 6 months after my injury, so I was in pretty poor condition. I started off with Stephanie who was great, she worked miracles on my injury and gave me great exercises to do at home. I have a really demanding schedule and could not always see her my minimal available time slots, so I started seeing Chris too. Chris was excellent too and identified the cause of a strange pain I could not resolve. The admin staff is great here too. They are very organized and always answer the phone on the first call. The best thing I've found about Physiotherapy Associates is they spend a solid 30 minutes doing manual manipulation where as other places just give you 5 minutes and the rest is spent on exercises. I would totally recommend this place!!
