After my one star review, the owner immediately reached and we exchanged a few emails. His follow-through, his commitment to customer service, supporting his team and his game plan for resolution took my breath away. Like I told him, always a fan! Highly impressed!

One Sweet Latte & one Latte w/ Stevia. This place roasts, bags, brews, & sells its own coffee. Perfect date place

Great service. Very friendly. Love this local down to earth vibe. The coffee taste so smooth. The foam is creamy. The taste is right on. Lightly sweet & the coffee doesn't taste burnt or bitter. It's perfect ph. I can tell they take care of their equipment with proper cleaning & descaling. The roast & brew is not too acidic. Again perfect. Thank you Component & the barista who made my cup. Five stars all the way. See you some more on Yelp 2026

The plants were amazing touch the coffee was okay the seating was pretty comfortable and it was pretty quiet and great place for studying or remote work or just to read a great book. Service was amazing they had my coffee made before I even paid for it. As soon as I received my receipt I received my coffee, fast service.

Boo on the customer service here it's basically non existent The two times my husband and I have ordered ahead and paid for "side of crema" for the breakfast burritos they haven't given it to us. In fact the second time I went to pick them up and saw there was no side of crema I had to flag down a BOH member since the baristas just looked at me instead of offering help. I asked for the side of crema and was told "it's a 1.10" and he walked away. After getting his attention again I told him I know it's 1.10 I paid for it. He gave me one. I asked for another since I paid for TWO burritos with TWO sides of crema and he reluctantly gave them to me. Just rude all around honestly. I would be more understanding except for the fact that it says ON the receipt that's on the bag "SIDE OF CREMA" Just some very frustrating experiences for 32$ (2) burritos.

Serving up attitude and overpriced subpar coffees. Sadly wont be coming back. Customer service should be your priority. Photo attached shows the size difference compared to a regular water bottle. Crazy thing it was half full in this tiny cup!

The food is amazing, I liked my chai latte and husband liked his drip coffee. The ambiance is great, they have indoor and outdoor seating. Only wish they had cushions on the chairs. The service was okay, the beverages and butter croissant were serviced right away and my avocado toast was served too late for me to enjoy with my chai. They might want to work on the timing of the beverages and food. My avocado toast was amazing, loved the crunchy toast and seasoned poached egg. Overall, great place and will returned. Loved seating outside.

So hard to find good coffee - most shops focus more on the pastries and sugar drinks. Component Coffee makes a really good Cappuccino!

Came to this coffee shop while visiting Visalia and am so happy I did! Our favorite was their breakfast burrito which was so tasty!! The place is very cute and a great spot if you want to complete any remote work/studying.

    matcha latte

Despite being a coffee lab, I find Component's food to be the star aspect over their drinks. Regardless of the time of day, Component always appears full. There were outlets indoors and free wifi for guests. The service is limited but friendly. There was a self serve station for take out boxes and condiments near the register. *Matcha Latte: I've tried it both hot and cold, and both skewed milky. The matcha was very weak and clumpy, especially iced. The only tolerable form was when they had a seasonal strawberry matcha latte. *Chai Latte: similar issue with it skewing milky. The chai wasn't fragrant and it was missing the spiced aspects. One of my least favorite executions of chai. *Breakfast Burrito: top tier burrito. This was stuffed with egg, potato, bacon and onion and smothered in their chipotle sauce. The ratio of egg to potato was ideal and the chipotle sauce should be bottled. Everything was wrapped in a warm tortilla and it had some heftiness. *Potatoes: the side was tasty, especially with the chipotle sauce but it's a bit dry on its own. Still seasoned well though. This was a good study spot as most patrons are quiet and respectful. I would visit prior to noon in order to enjoy their food menu. Otherwise I wouldn't stop by for any of the beverages.

    Strawberry matcha (seasonal)

The best place for drinks I've tried in Visalia so far! I only got them strawberry matcha which was seasonal but I enjoyed it! It kind of tasted like strawberry milk. I came here around a 9 AM on a Sunday and has no issues getting a seat! It started getting packed though in a couple hours. They have food here too but I didn't get a chance to try it. I was able to work at one of the tables and they had plenty of outlets! Parking will be found in the back (not the Main Street) if there is any. Otherwise there should be street parking!

This coffee shop is great! I liked my drip coffee. They have vegetarian options which is always appreciated. Their staff is friendly and helpful with giving recommendations if needed. Whoever did the design and decor deserves a high five-- it's definitely a vibe. Would def come back next time in I'm visiting!

Very cute private spot in Visalia, away from all the downtown crowds. It's a great place to sit, relax, and enjoy tea or coffee. I tried the ham and cheese croissant with a green tea, and it was delicious. Definitely a nice little hidden gem!

The indoor seating place is well placed and doesn't feel too crowded. Being from out of town, been fortunate to have their breakfast and lunch. Breakfast: had the chicken fried steak, egg and hashbrown. Big portion enough to take some home. The breakfast was good but nothing flavorful to brag about but what you would expect for a good chicken fried steak. Cooked perfect. Lunch: had the fried burger and regular fries. The burger was a good size, seasoned well and cooked (medium) as requested. The fries were plain and i would recommend the curly fries. I also had the sampler plate. Onion rings: cut and cooked good. Fried pickles: tasted as they should. Cheese curds: batter well but needed and little longer to cook. The cheese had that laffy taffy stretch. Chicken wings: buffalo. The flavor and cook was tasteful but just too small. About the size of a fun size snicker. Overall: the service and food is still great. I recommend this place for sure. FYI, they do have pastries that looked good but I didn't get any.

I've been coming to Valhalla since I was a kid, back when they were located on Main Street. Now…read morethat I am an adult with my own family, we don't often dine out for breakfast, but when we do, Valhalla is my favorite spot. Lots of great places with great food, and friendly staff. But what makes Valhalla really stand out from the rest, is their in Äbelskivers (common spelling). They're basically little pancake balls, which you can get with a variety of jellies and powdered sugar. I like all the jellies and apple butter, with powdered sugar on top of the jellies. They're really outstanding. My two favorite dishes that I tend to switch between each time I visit are their Chicken Fried Steak and eggs, which is always delicious, and the Rande Omelette, named for the founding owner's husband. My family all have their favorites, like The Danish Breakfast, whilst some just simply order the (5) Äbelskivers, by themselves. The staff is always friendly, the restaurant and bathrooms are always clean, and the service is always fast. Valhalla also has a gift shop with lots of great items to peruse whilst you wait for a table (which usually doesn't take long), or after you've enjoyed your meal. They have a couple of different rooms for dining. One where you can have the room all to yourself if you have a large party, and another that used to be the (kids) "Train room". This room had a little Thomas the train and little toys and activities like felt boards and whatnot to keep kiddos entertained. My kiddos are grown, so I don't know if they still have that room set up for families with small kids or not, but it is a separate room off from the main dining area. There are two 1-seater bathrooms, off of the main dining area, and another bathroom closer to the entry/gift shop area. There is a small parking lot, but if that is full, you can usually find parking on the street out front, or there are a couple of free parking lots nearby. If you've never been to Valhalla Restaurant, in Visalia, you should absolutely check it out, for a unique and delicious breakfast experience. Oh, and they close at 2 PM, so breakfast and lunch only.

Instead, you walk in and immediately wonder if you've stepped into the wrong business. Shelves of trinkets, cards, and knick‑knacks greet you first, a full gift shop, and for a moment you're standing there, confused, scanning for a hostess who never appears. Then you notice the sign‑in sheet. Write your name, your party size, and wait. It feels old‑school, almost nostalgic, like something from a diner that's been around long enough to earn the right to do things its own way. When they call your name, you're led through what feels like a maze, rooms inside rooms, hallways that twist, tables tucked into corners, and finally a dining room decorated with a Viking boat and family portraits that look like they date back to the mid‑20th century. It's quirky, unexpected, and strangely charming in a way only small‑town institutions can pull off. The staff is kind, the sort of people who've probably worked here long enough to know half the regulars by name. The placemats are printed with ads for local businesses, a reminder that this place is stitched into the fabric of Visalia. The menu is a long laminated sheet, the kind you flip over once or twice just to make sure you didn't miss anything. I ordered the keto plate, bacon, sausage, three eggs, and a small bowl of cottage cheese topped with avocado slices. Simple, straightforward, exactly what it says it is. The eggs were room temperature, which took a little of the comfort out of the dish, but everything else was fine. Not great, not bad, just breakfast. Valhalla is interesting. The name promises Vikings, but what you get is an American diner wrapped inside a gift shop, wrapped inside a labyrinth of rooms. It's the kind of place you try once because curiosity brought you there. Whether you come back depends on what you're looking for. For me, this was a last‑minute solo brunch, a little adventure, a new spot to check off the list. And in that sense, it delivered, an experience, a story, something worth writing about.

The pasta wasn't just one-dimensional. Everything was perfectly seasoned, tasted fresh, and the quality really stood out. The pistachio cake was the perfect ending to the meal. It had just the right amount of sweetness, allowing the distinct pistachio flavor to shine through, complemented by a subtle hint of coconut that made it even more delicious. So having a massive jar of soda already right in front of me? Huge win. Now, moving on to the slightly traumatizing part: they did not bring out bread to the table. Excuse me? I'm sorry, but if I am sitting down for Italian, table bread is not an optional courtesy--it is a fundamental human right. And it became an even bigger issue when my fettuccine arrived, because the portion size was... let's just say aggressively small for a dinner entree. I was expecting a meal, not a decorative sample. However... it was infuriatingly good. They make their own pasta fresh in-house, and the texture was honestly undeniable. My husband ordered the Margherita pizza, and he literally declared--with complete, uncharacteristic enthusiasm--that it was hands-down the best Margherita pizza he has ever gotten. So, massive points there. What was not a massive point, however, was the subterranean seating situation. We were escorted downstairs into the basement, which was pitch black. But more importantly: the stairs are completely unlit. I'm sorry, but they are actively asking to get sued. It is a litigious nightmare waiting to happen. Someone is going to take one wrong step in the dark, tumble down that staircase, and own the entire restaurant by next Tuesday. They are practically begging for a lawsuit. That being said... despite the pitch-black staircase of death and the tragic lack of dinner rolls, overall? I really liked it. The food completely won me over, and I would definitely go back. I will just be bringing a flashlight and my own emergency focaccia next time.

Our server came over a couple of minutes later and apologized, but she seemed overwhelmed. We received our coffee and later our food, but I asked for milk for my coffee on three occasions before any was brought to me.
