Highly recommend. Excellent work a third time by Matt and his team shaping and taking weight off our tall redwood, pittisporum, ginkgo, and other trees. Again we found the crew to be professional, quick, and thorough. They took care to protect nearby shrubs, arrived on time, and left the property in excellent condition. The trees look better than ever. Fees are very fair. read more

I cannot speak highly enough about Matt and his crew. These guys are real pros, not only for removing trees but for general arborist expertise. They removed two very large douglass fir trees and one maple, plus trimming and maintenance on other trees. Matt communicated well throughout the process, and always showed up when expected. They made a real effort to protect other plants in our garden and elsewhere that were in the path where they were carrying out the cut trees. They are professional and reliable, and on top of all that they were among the best prices we were quoted. We already have future work in mind and will definitely use Complete Tree Care. read more

I find it super unprofessional when people don't show up for a confirmed (!) appointment, they don't call and when you finally get a hold of them to ask what happened, they don't know who you are or even worse, they say that they really don't have time for you. Matt, I suggest that if you feel overwhelmed and you have no intention to show up for a job, at least have the courtesy to let people know. AND, don't tell people that asked what happened and why you didn't call them to "relax". Rude! read more

I would like to highly recommend Matt Bowman of Complete Tree Care (510)883-1748. Our landscape company, Tamar Carson Landscaping, has been referring our clients to him for years with consistently positive results. He has a fantastic, skilled crew who do a beautiful job and are lovely to have around. We have always found that their work --from tree removal and stump grinding to aesthetic pruning-- is always done with care. Matt is knowledgeable, a good communicator, is fully licensed and bonded, and has very competitive rates. read more

Matt is great! He and his crew have done a ton of work on our backyard, including removing two huge trees (that were dying) and a large, overgrown hedge. Every year he now comes and trims our trees before winter and does a great job. He is honest, reliable and just really nice and easy to work with. At the last tree trimming, one of the branches went through a window as it was being cut (it was growing very close to the window) and he immediately called me, showed me the damage, cleaned it up and put in some temporary board, and then had it replaced asap. I can't recommend him highly enough. read more

Same experience as last time, this time removing a mostly dead avocado tree (including stump), cutting back overhanging branches from neighbor's massive poplar, trimming back a large maple, and grinding out another stump. This time it was a crew of 6. They are so incredibly careful and safe while working, scrupulously clean, and are still doing excellent work. Plus Matt is very responsive for estimates and shows up exactly when he's says he will. Hannah in the office is easy to communicate with. Such a pleasure to do business with these folks! read more

I would totally recommend Matt Bowman and his crew. They are fast, efficient, and reasonable. They got rid of an old dead yew tree in front of my house and also removed an old stump. I've used him in the past and will continue to do so. They leave the yard in good shape when they leave. read more

So happy to have found Matt on yelp and ask him to tree that had fallen in my yard due to storm. Matt responded to my phone message very timely, he went to see the place and gave me an estimate that was much cheaper than the others. He cut the tree, cleaned up and left the place very organized. Matt is reliable, professional and affordable. Highly recommend him read more

Matt and his team did an A+ job removing our 80-foot-tall Deodar Cedar. His team of five workers removed the entire thing in a day. They showed up on time, removed the tree without damaging any of the property, cut and split the wood so that we could save some of it as firewood, and cleaned the neighbors' yards of all the saw dust. I was very impressed, and recommend him highly! read more

If you want to have excellent tree work done at a very fair price, this company is for you. Sadly, we had to remove a coastal oak from our property. Matt's team came and did a masterful job. We were in awe of their skill (took videos) and their ability to remove the tree with no damage to the surrounding area and great clean up. At the same time we had a smaller tree trimmed with many "instructions" to-- clear the area in front of solar panels, leave enough canopy to serve as the umbrella for our table on the balcony, increase the view from the bedroom, etc. A great job. Highly recommend. read more

So, we have a bunch of ginormous eucalyptus trees in our yard. Someday, the eucalyptus tree may be useful...perhaps a cure for cancer will be found in its leaves or perhaps Oakland will set up a koala bear sanctuary. However, for now....no such luck for us. This is where Complete Tree Care comes in. Over the past 10 years they have safely removed a bunch of tall eucalyptus trees from our yard with some hanging over our house or the power lines. Always safely. Always on time. They are the only tree company we trust to remove the aforementioned useless ginormous trees. Matt is very knowlegable about all sorts of trees and we always trust his opinion about which trees are safe/heatlhy and which trees are not. read more

Another wonderful job trimming our massive cypress tree and removing three pine trees. Eight guys, one day, and they left the backyard neater than when they arrived. Matt is also a very knowledgeable arborist who is accommodating and flexible. I'd recommend these guys to anybody. read more

I had Matt come over to check out several trees on my property. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable, straightforward, honest and reasonably priced. He didn't suggest unnecessary work, and actually let me know what he thought our top priorities are, and wasn't trying to "Sell us" in any way. I was very impressed when he remembered that he had come to look at one of our trees about 7 years ago (I didn't remember- but he remembered the tree!) read more

Matt's crew just removed a very big dead redwood tree from my yard . I was amazed by their speed and professionalism! They took down the tree, sawed up all the wood in chunks, removed same from my backyard, and cleaned up all the chips and sawdust in less than five hours. No plants growing near the tree were damaged, and they even made a nice rustic table with seats using pieces of the trunk! I highly recommend Complete Tree Care. Matt and his crew have done tree removals for me in the past, and the work has always been more than excellent, and prices are fair. Matt knows about trees and can answer your questions about tree care and maintenance. I had two other estimates and was not impressed! Prices were sky high, and they could not complete the job in less than two days time. If you need tree work, don't bother with estimates, just call Matt - you won't regret it. read more

Thank you all for your guidance in choosing Complete Tree Care. Did I say Thank You!!! ?? We've used Matthew to maintain (and sometimes remove) a number of trees on our property. His crew is fabulous. We will be forever grateful for their attending to us in our time of need during the recent storms. We had two Bay Laurel's fall in the recent storms, one threatening our living room. Matthew and his crew came to us in an emergency, working in a horrendous storm to keep us safe. We will be forever grateful. read more

Matt and his team are awesome! I have many large beautiful trees on my property that are well over 50 years old that need work every 4 years or so. We live in a condo with a challenging HOA that's hard to please and sometimes unpleasant. Matthew took a cool, calm approach that settled down everyone's nerves right off the bat. His team did a first-class, professional job that left everyone feeling good about the work. And the price was very reasonable relative to other estimates we had received. Bravo, Matt! read more

Matt did an amazing job taking down my four huge black acacia trees! My backyard was like a forest before (the previous owner didn't take care of the house AT ALL) - the black acacia trees were threatening to fall onto my roof, my neighbor's roof, and my poor little suffocating Oak tree. We got six quotes since this is a big job, and Matt came in with a very reasonable one provided all the tasks he proposed to do. Matt even agreed to remove the black acacia tree stump on our sloped yard, which some arborists said that they can only poison the stump (I am assuming it's difficult to get the stump remover on the slope). Matt and his crew are honest, professional, and knowledgable, and I would recommend them to anyone! read more

Matt and Complete Tree Care is a top notch service that everyone should be using. After contacting many different businesses Matt was the only one to return my call and we arranged a date where he could come out and inspect and quote the services I needed done. Two complete tree removals, two 12ft. bushes and an addition stump removal that was sending out roots that sprouted an upended my brick path. After discussion about the pros and cons of trimming and removal I decided to just level the back yard and be done with it. That afternoon a crew of five came out and five hours later the job was done. All debris was removed the the back yard and the cleanup was unbelievable! Even with a busy schedule I was squeezed in and now no more worry about branches and limbs coming down in high winds. No more calls from the neighbors about pine needles falling down on their roof and no more spring and fall cleanup of pine cones, needles or silver dollar eucalyptus branches. I will miss the foliage but welcome more sunlight to a now usable backyard. I have no problem with the quote Matt provided to us. I have used other companies who did less work than Matt and his crew did today and charged nearly as much. A++++ service from start to finish. read more

Matt and his crew do excellent work, are easy to work with and have reasonable fees. He really knows and understands a tree and how it should be pruned. He has done a great job on my very old but beloved apple tree which still rewards me with delicious apples. And he keeps the big trees in our yards manageable. Matt also had to cut down my 35 year old, 72' feet tall Redwood tree, which was a traumatic event for me. He was very considerate and listened to my wishes about saving some wood, while other estimators told me flat out that the wood was too young and not good enough to do anything with. Well, I have three stunning desk tops and several more projects in the works. Thank you,Matt. Working at my desk top has helped in the healing over the loss of our beautiful tree. read more

Matt was very knowledgeable about trees and diagnosed our Monterrey Pine as being very sick with a moth invasion. His quote for removing the tree and pruning others on our property was reasonable. His crew showed up on time, was very polite and kept me informed on the process, did a difficult job without damaging property and did a great job cleaning up afterwards. They cleaned our neighbor's yard as well. Overall a good experience for despite having to remove our very large tree, which was very sad. I would highly recommend Matt and his team. read more
