I cannot say enough about Dr. Sara, she made the most difficult day of my life peaceful and loving. When we knew our beloved cocker spaniel of 15 years life was coming to an end that we wanted her to be at home surrounded by love when it was her time go. Our dog on her last day was covered in sores due to her cutaneous lymphoma and yet when our dog went to Sara (she was a good judge of character) she immediately petted and soothed her and I knew we made the right choice. She gave us all the time we needed and my husband, my ex-husband (he loved the dog too), and I all agreed that we are handling the death of the dog much better based on our experience with Dr. Sara. If you are in the unfortunate situation of looking for someone to euthanize your pet in a loving, peaceful, and compassionate way, then Dr. Sara is who you want. read more

Dr. Sara is really wonderful. We met her when our golden Hunter got very sick over the summer. His health worsened but his life force was strong and he would get better then worse. Dr. Sara provided support and palliative care during this time. Hunter was always so happy to see her because she was so gentle and kind to him. I would note she was also gentle and kind to us. We were so worried about Hunter and she was very genuine, supportive and caring. Unfortunately he worsened and we called Sara to let him go. The experience was so sad but so gentle and sweet. We couldn't ask for more. Thank you to a kind, knowledgeable, and caring professional. read more

Pet end of life services are extremely difficult to "shop" for. After researching a number of different offices and services, I chose Dr. Sara and we are so glad that we did. We started with a hospice evaluation for our 16 year old St. Bernard Mix. While he has been under excellent care with our regular vet for a number of years, his mobility was such that he couldn't do car rides anymore. Dr. Sara examined Charger and despite his many ailments thought he was still in ok shape for his age. She offered some additional medications to make his last weeks more comfortable. She counseled us on how to know when it is time. Letting us know that most owners regret waiting too long and that his life has already been so fulfilling that anytime would be an ok time. His decline suddenly sped up, so we made the appointment for his euthanasia the very next week. Her expertise and compassion for the procedure was perfect. It was exactly the right time, place and person to handle this delicate situation. While it breaks my heart to lose my fur-child of 11 years, I can think of no better way to have it happen. She was very nice and professional as she explained the details of the process. She gave us a little privacy after the sedative. And She even teared up a little too, as we broke down saying goodbye. I know we will come back to her as we have needs for future old dogs. read more

Dr. Nicole was compassionate and caring with our cat. I have nothing but good words to say. Highly recommended.

Today my family said goodbye to our 18 year old miniature dachshund. Dr Audrey was absolutely phenomenal. I truly don't feel like I can adequately describe how perfect the service she provided was for my family. She entered our home in a way that made her feel like family, she was gentle and compassionate in her approach, and she balanced the process of informing us about the process without it being overwhelming or too much. I am truly touched by the work that she did. My family was able to grieve and say our goodbyes without feeling rushed and it was the complete opposite of a clinical type experience. I can honestly say, I didn't know what to expect from this experience, but I was given peace and so was our beautiful Ginger. Thank you for all that you do. It is such a gift. read more

In late March, it was time to say goodbye to old buddy Burt. Having rescued senior dogs for decades, I knew the signs he was giving me, even though it was still very difficult. He was ready to go. For the first time, I decided to try in-home euthanasia and found Compassion 4 Paws. It was still a very sad experience, however, Dr. Tracy helped to make it gentle, compassionate, and easy for Burt to make his transition in his own bed with his special blanket. I cannot say enough great things about Compassion 4 Paws and will use in-home services in the future. Thank you so much to this team of angels!!! read more

Compassion 4 Paws gave Squid & me a true gift. In March 2017, Dr. Sara came over for a consultation regarding Squid, my beloved 15-year-old border collie / chocolate lab. From the moment she entered the house, Dr. Sara was present & in-touch. Squid, being an outstanding judge of character, of course immediately loved her. Dr. Sara answered all of our questions and left us in a very good place. I asked her toward the end of that visit, "So, this would be the beginning of hospice then, huh?" She smiled and then said, "Yup!". That was the beginning. Over what turned out to be the next nine months, each month, I would call Compassion 4 Paws to give them a Squid Status. Every time I talked to Shawnee or Tasha or anyone else there, they were great. We all got to know each other over those eight or nine calls and my respect, admiration, and gratefulness for them only grew. When the day finally came, this past January 2nd, Dr. Sara arrived and agreed it was time. The final specific events of Squid's passing I shan't recall here, but know that there is literally nothing I would change about how it all transpired. It was beautiful, it was peaceful -- so very peaceful -- and it was perfect. We needed Squid's life to end well, and it ended perfectly. It was a gift and I'll never forget it. Thank you, Compassion 4 Paws. Seth read more

This organization is amazing. So compassionate and understanding. Despite the restrictions of physical distancing, they made the passing of my dog so peaceful for my dog and myself. Thank you. I highly recommend them. read more

The very best possible experience for such a sad day. This was the kindest, quietest, most compassionate way we could have had to said goodbye to the best dog ever. The intake coordinator was kind and helpful on the phone each time we spoke. The doctor was so understanding and compassionate, even though we were her last appointment on what was likely a very long day filled with equally sad people. She was very respectful, soothing, efficient without being hurried, and had thought of everything. She had a very soothing presence and kind, gentle, loving way with us and our dog. To be able to spend that last time with our pet in the quiet and warmth of our own familiar kitchen without the stress of shifting his pained, tired body in and out of the car and into a vet's office is beyond value. I'm so grateful for this service and their exceptional professionalism. read more

Dr. Allison Edwards was absolutely amazing. It's pretty impossible to make this kind of experience any better but she was compassionate, caring, and patient. She explained the process and what it would entail carefully and made sure our pup didn't experience any pain or anxiety. read more

This review is long over due....I still cry every time I think about it and think about our dog Copper. These doctors are beyond amazing. Are dog had cancer and after countless vet appointments and emergency hospital stays he was so afraid of going to the vets office.... so when it was time to say goodbye to our fur baby we didn't want his final moments to be in a place he hated and feared so much. We live deep in Snohomish and finding someone to come to us was looking impossible until we found compassion 4 paws. Even though we fell outside their boundaries they made an exception for us. It was 2 weeks before Christmas and we had to say goodbye to our baby. The doctor was so understanding, compassionate, amazing, and I can never begin to give her justice on describing just how wonderful she was with us and our fur baby. It was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do and we couldn't imagine it going any better then it did. We will always have so much appreciation and love for this practice. Our friends and family know how highly we think of Compassion 4 Paws that all that find themselves in that situation have all reached out to us for their contact information because we highly recommend them. They even sent us a Christmas card telling us they could tell how special copper was to us and how moved they were by our love for our fur baby and how awful they felt for us that we had to lose him right before the holidays and wanted to send us a card with their condolences and wished us a happier year for the year to come. So, If you find you need a regular vet or a vet to come to you to help with your fur babies last day like us We couldn't recommend them more highly. If I could give them more stars I would. read more

Dr. Sara came yesterday to do a quality of life assessment for our cat Willow and education for us. She spent time with us answering questions, giving us tips on how to make Willow most comfortable, and coaching us on what to watch for to avoid Willow getting to the point of respiratory distress. She also coached us on questions to talk about together to help us prepare for deciding when it's time to euthanize Willow - helpful since neither of us have done this before. She has the animal skills and those people skills that make all the difference at a time like this. read more

What a wonderful pet service. My poor cat was so sick and he didn't have to suffer through a trip to the vet. I can't thank you enough!

This is the hardest review I've ever had to write. Seven months after being diagnosed with inoperable and aggressive mast cell cancer, my husband and I made the agonizing decision to let our beloved Labrador Pippa go in peace. We'd tried everything for her, including four kinds of chemo, and after making her go to countless doctor appointments and clinics the last thing we wanted was to make her last moments fraught with anxiety in another strange place she didn't want to be. She was old and sore, and her body was covered in tumors and lesions. The best and only place for her was at home. Dr Allison and Compassion 4 Paws provided her with a mercy, allowing her to pass in our arms in the spot of her choosing- outside in the warm grass, which was always her favorite place to relax on a spring morning. She died to the sounds of me telling her I loved her and to the chirping birds. It was as peaceful a passing as any could be. I was relieved to see that all the vets at C4P are women; Pippa was sometimes anxious around strange men, but never with women. So seeing this immediately put my mind at ease about how Pippa would feel on the day about another doctor showing up. Dr Allison arrived right on time- not a minute early, not a minute late- and with one day's notice. Pippa's suffering was not prolonged, and we were able to enjoy our last morning with her the best we could without worrying where the doctor was or having to say goodbye before we were ready. Allison showed up and explained the process to us and had us sign a couple forms (very short). We sprang a change on her last minute and requested Pip's ashes be delivered to her oncologist instead of her vet clinic (we were afraid the larger clinic would lose them). She was more than willing to honor the request. She gave us as much time as we wanted with Pippa to say goodbye and explained the process to us as we went along. I loved Pippa like she was my own flesh and blood, so none of this was easy. But Dr Allison made it the best she could, and I couldn't thank her enough for allowing us the ability to say goodbye to Pippa in our home, in our own way, and in our own time. Once Pippa passed, Dr Allison offered to do a paw print for us. Then, when we were ready, she and my husband carried Pippa to the doctor's car. She gave us as much time as we wanted to kiss Pippa and say goodbye. And then she hugged me, which I desperately needed. She saw how much we loved Pippa and respected and honored that love. She gave our little family the chance to love each other one last time and say goodbye with dignity and peace. Within a week Pip's ashes were delivered to her oncologist and are now back home with us. Thank you, C4P, for the service you provide to people and their animal companions in their hardest hour. read more

I am so grateful to Dr. Danielle Hagen and Compassion 4 Paws for the calm, gentle death she provided for my beloved cat Pixie. It was far more relaxed and painless than any prior euthanasia I have been able to give my companion animals when the need has arisen. Dr. Hagen is so kind and understanding of the stress and grief that pet parents feel when an animal they love is suffering, and death is the only release possible. She was able to schedule an appointment within 48 hours of my call, and the entire procedure was handled with the utmost care and professionalism. read more

Just read all the other reviews, they sum it all up. We had to let our 18 year old cat go and while it was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do, Dr. Allison was kind, caring, and helped all of us through this painful experience. My dog just had his first visit with Dr. Sara and I cannot express how grateful I am for this experience. His health has been declining the past few months and I have been having a hard time figuring out when is the right time to let him pass. The consult allotted a good amount of time to be able to discuss all of the issues (not just his health but also his and my quality of life). Dr. Sara pointed out that caregiver fatigue is a real thing even with pets and that was a real "Aha!" moment. Knowing that is something I am experiencing gives me the power to be able to address it so I can be more present for my dog. After talking things through, Dr. Sara was able to offer me some options and we were able to come up with a hospice care plan. I now feel confident I have a plan in place to try and make my dog comfortable in his remaining days, weeks or whatever he has in him. With Dr. Sara's help I know I am providing the best care to make him comfortable and when he is no longer benefiting from medications I know Compassion 4 Paws will be there to help him pass as comfortably as possible. read more

Dr.Sara worked compassionately and professionally today to help us put our nearly 16 year old Bichon Frise, Alicia, to sleep. With soothing music, candles, soft lighting on our cozy couch, Alicia was wrapped in a blanket as we held her, stroked her and spoke to her as we said goodbye. Dr. Sara was deeply kind, patient, respectful, unhurried and competent. The whole process was incredibly heart wrenching, sad, painful...and also beautiful and freeing. As she was sedated and passed, Alicia experienced being loved and held in her own home by us, with our other dogs present, respectful and loving. My husband and I will never forget the bittersweet beauty of this day. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Sara and Compassion 4 Paws. read more

Just another great review for this very professional and competent veterinary group. Dr Lindsay took great care of our elderly lab was not able to comfortably able to leave our home to go to our regular vet. She helped us understand how to recognize our lab's pain and to determine when his quality of life was no longer acceptable. He would have gone on forever if he could but his body gave out. Dr Lindsay took great care at the end with him and he was not anxious or in any additional pain at all. It was best the solution for our pet and our family. I would recommend their services without hesitation to all. read more

Early February our beloved cat who was diagnosed with terminal cancer and we were told he had 1-4 weeks to live. A big concern for us was knowing when "the time" had come. We wanted to hold on to him as long as possible, yet we didn't want him to suffer in any way. We contacted Dr. Sara in order to get in-home hospice care. Dr. Sara guided us through this most difficult time with great patience, compassion and understanding. She visited several times weekly to assess his condition and provide counsel on what to look for as his condition deteriorated. She also explained how to analyze his quality-of-life. This was an incredibly valuable service to us as his condition progressed. We ended up having over four more weeks with our cherished cat. When the time eventually came to let him go, Dr. Sara came to our home on short notice and gently guided us through every step of the way. We were able to express our last act of love by allowing Thomas to pass in familiar surroundings surrounded by those who loved him. We can't express enough gratitude to Dr. Sara for the exceptional care she provided. She is one of a kind for sure. read more

Dr. Lindsay made paw prints for the kids and wrapped Chase in a cozy blanket when she took him. I even received a condolence card in the mail--something most people wouldn't think to do. My dog got diagnosed with breast cancer and then her tissues got inflamed and infected. Dr.sara helped me sort thru the various vets' recommendations and prices. For days I went back and forth weighing the options of conservative and aggressive approach and Dr.sara held my hand thru the decision making process. My dog underwent surgery and Dr.sara was very sensitive to what the unique needs and priorities are of my pup and my family. Her phone consult was like a god send, her prompt follow up home vet care was angelic when my dog dealt with some ups and downs of post operative care. Dr. Sara was upfront with her reasonable fees and how she is able to equip us in the home setting, especially with symptom management.
