    The menagerie!

We have five dogs and one cat. To say it's difficult to get them to the vet to keep up on their check-ups and vaccines is an understatement! I found Wags and Purrs here on Yelp and reached out for information. Carol was so easy to communicate with and when she came to our house to check out the pups, it was fabulous! She is very kind and took good care of our doggies in the relaxation and familiarity of their home. I am so grateful for her excellent care and I look forward to seeing her again when we are due for another appointment!

Carol had lots of helpful information for my newly adopted girl, Seiji. Carol did an exam, gave her an inoculation for lepto. Seiji was an abandoned pup, who lived on the streets of Humboldt Bay, who experienced much abuse. Her gentle touch is just what my Seiji needed. XOXO

I have an elderly golden retriever. Carol came to our house to give an assessment on our buddy. He wasn't doing so good. She was wonderful. As I write this our Jones is doing ok. Things will change because of reality. We will be happy to have her support at the end of his life.

Good morning! I have a Dutch Shepherd who's not super fond of a brick and mortar vet office so mobile sounds much better! Do you have experience with weary dogs?

Of course! Dogs who have trouble at the Vet office do so much better at home. Happy to help if you are in my service area. Best, Carol Earls, DVM

Do you offer pet overnight stays for a couple of days? What are the services if a small dog stays overnight? How much is the cost?

Unfortunately, as a mobile vet I dont have a brick and mortar building, so I cant offer boarding stays. So sorry I cant help you. Best, Carol Earls, DVM

Are you taking new "senior" patients in good health? Do you take Pet Insurance?

Sure, happy to, as long as you are in my service area. Most pet insurance works by reimbursing you after you have paid the bill. If you would like to continue, could you send me an email to a private address: carol@wagspurrsvet.com and send me your…

Hi, just wondering if you come to the Arlington area?? My Australian Shepherd hasn’t been doing so well and he is older..

Hi, Unfortunately, I rarely come to Arlington- it is just so far for me to go. You could always call me "day of" and see if there is any possibility.…

Do you serve out in Harstine Island (Shelton) I have a two year old Himalayan male who has spent his life in a cage, breeder cat. He is extremely anxious and needs to be neutered. Is that something youdo? What would be the cost roughly?

Hi Linda, Thanks for reaching out. So sad for these breeding kitties. Ugh. Unfortunately, I do not serve there, and sadly dont know anyone to refer you to.…

Do they offer free pet care for the homeless?

Unfortunately, we do not offer free care for homeless. As a housecall business, our mission is stress free care for pets in their home. You might try Seattle Veterinary Outreach.…

Hello, I am looking to transfer care for my doggo. I was wondering what you charge for vaccines? I am coming from VCA meadowdale. They have a care plan to help pay for vaccines but it was still a bit expensive, so I am looking at my options.

Hi Makena, THanks for reaching out! If you are coming from VCA Meadowdale, you likely live within a non-compete zone that I have to honor until January. If you send me…

I am looking to transfer the care of my 2 small dogs for dental care. One is a yorkie mix (10 yo) and a chihuahua mix (7yo). Both are healthy and are showing no signs of having dental issues (except on visual). Ballpark estimate?

Hi Judi, I dont do dental cleanings on a mobile basis. The anesthetic risk is, in my opinion, too high without the backup of a brick and mortar facility. I can certainly…

I would like to transfer my puppy's care under your establishment. How much is your vaccination costs in total? He's 16weeks now and had 2 vaccinations and 3 dewormer from Petco.

Hi MP, I would be happy to help you and your pup, but first need to make sure you live outside of a non-compete zone that I have with the clinic a left a year ago. Then I can…

I especially want to recognize the incredible care our kitty received over the years. Dr. Murayama provided amazing treatment when she helped save Autumn's tail three years ago, and she continued to compassionately care for our elderly kitty through hyperthyroidism, a heart murmur, and kidney disease. Dr. Anderson also stepped in whenever Dr. Murayama was unavailable and was equally caring, thoughtful, and helpful. Yesterday, we sadly had to help our almost 17-year-old kitty cross the Rainbow Bridge. Unfortunately, I have been through this experience before, but the compassion and kindness we received yesterday made this the most comforting experience possible during such a heartbreaking time. I called Wednesday night just before closing and spoke with Liz, who was incredibly kind and attentive while listening to all of my concerns. She explained that Dr. Murayama would not be in the next day, Dr. Anderson was fully booked, and Dr. Chatterson had a full surgery schedule, but she promised to see what could be done. Thursday morning, just 10 minutes before they opened, Liz called to let us know that Dr. Chatterson would fit us into his schedule. When I called back, I spoke with Jenni, who already knew exactly what was happening because she had been with Liz when she called. She confirmed the appointment time we requested and reassured us that if Autumn's condition worsened before then, we could come in sooner and they would absolutely work with us. She also thoughtfully suggested that we call when we arrived so she could bring us through a side entrance, allowing us privacy instead of having to sit in the lobby while emotional. When we arrived, Jenni met us at the side door just as promised. Dr. Chatterson explained every step of the process with kindness and compassion. He even sat on the floor in front of us so I could continue holding my baby while he administered the medication as she peacefully made her journey to the Rainbow Bridge. I could go on with even more details, but I have already written so much. I simply cannot thank this hospital, the doctors, and the entire staff enough for the extraordinary compassion, care, and support they have shown our family over the years and especially during one of the hardest moments we've faced. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

They prescribed me some cough pills that helped. I ran out of medicine and went to get more. The vet told me no, I could not have anymore. I said the poor dog is suffering from the cough and the cough medicine helps. She would not prescribe another bottle of cough pills. I went on line and purchased the same cough pills medicine, 250 pills. Now my dog is not coughing as before. I understand he has lung cancer and may not live long. I just want him to be comfortable during his last few months. My other pets will no longer go to this Vet.

We have nothing but glowing praise and gratitude for every single person at Diamond! Our dog, Remy, has been a frequent flyer here for the last four years, since we brought him home at 10 weeks old. Remy has multiple chronic illnesses, with new issues coming up almost weekly. It's sad, frustrating, stressful...and we sometimes feel embarrassed about how often we have to lean on the team at Diamond. But we are ALWAYS met with compassion, patience, and understanding. Everyone treats Remy like a celebrity instead of a burden. He actually *likes* going to the vet, which says everything. Dr. Longoni is Remy's primary vet, and he's an absolute gem; he's so knowledgeable, dedicated, and empathetic. He frequently coordinates with specialists on updated treatment plans, weighs in on urgent issues on his days off, and always offers different approaches/options with pros and cons for each. Whenever he retires, those shoes will be very hard to fill. Our problem child has seen every vet and vet tech at Diamond at some point or another, and we can vouch that they're all fantastic--everyone is aware of Remy's sensitivities, and is friendly, gentle, and kind. The front of house crew are the centerpiece of compassion, going above and beyond to accommodate last-minute appointments, get us records for insurance, relay info between vets, and more. (Thank you Tracie, Berlin, Trudy, Jessica, Angie, and everyone whose name I'm blanking on, we appreciate you too!) We genuinely don't know how we'd navigate his health without you all. Thank you for taking such incredible care of Remy, and of us.

My daughter and I brought in our boy Stellar to say goodbye. It was his time. He is reactionary to other dogs so it can be difficult to deal with public situations in general. They welcomed us in and allowed us to walk right to the room we were to be in for the procedure. We got to hug and be with Stellar until the end. They did not rush us in any way and wanted us to take our time. A few days later we received a card from them with their condolences. They were so kind as to include nose and paw prints for our boy. It will go perfect with the photo we are doing for our boy. I honestly don't know how to say thank you enough for their kindness, and graciousness, in this time.

Or rather, sub par. And for my precious pups, sub par just isn't good enough. He may be a fine vet, he seems knowledgible and relatively friendly himself, but the trouble is his support staff. Goodness gracious! So cold and abrasive and definitely seem bored and disinterested. From the moment I walked in with our pups, I was met with this kind of cloud of "what do you want?" I felt like a bother. It was bizarre. And it threw me off because I was feeling friendly, and there wasn't a smile to be seen in response. I figured maybe it was just a bad day for the front desk gal and the vet tech, so when I went back another day for a follow up consultation with Dr Kevin I hoped things would be better... nope. These are not happy workers. And that tells me a lot about a place. Also, the merchandise/food/etc shelves are barren - it looks like it's going out of business. The vibe was not conducive to my trust in my pups being in good hands - especially when one of them was being scheduled for a dental procedure under anesthesia. I did some research and we switched to a different veterinary practice in December, my pup just had her dental procedure today, and I couldn't be happier with the level of skill, interest, kindness, and concern we received from the entire staff at this new place! THIS is the way it should be! What a difference! I would suggest Dr Kevin really look at his support staff and make much-needed improvements if he hopes to retain clients and build his business. I wish him the best.

The rest of the team seemed pleasant. after they took my dog back the first visit the vet came back pretty passive aggressive and upset that her and her team could not handle a 85 pound husky. he needed water after returning back to the room with me and i was told three times by a vet assistant that it doesn't seem like he does. i asked once again and they brought it in placed it down while saying "i don't even think he's gonna drink it" and my dog drank the whole bowl. he was stressed, panting, this was his first ever vet visit and i reiterated that a number of times. he wasn't aggressive he is just jerky when inexperienced vet techs try to touch him with no warning. the second visit was much smoother. he had to just get shots and the lady on the counter was someone with more comprehension. They were much more kind and understanding of a big dog and how they can act. they took him back for two minutes and he came back smiling. the vet this time did make it clear he didn't like the needle but everything went smoothly. i return a third time and its a automatic request my dog wears a mussel because he bit someone. wouldn't specify who, and the reason "the who" was asked because no biting was ever mentioned and the dog just doesn't bite. so just to make it clear theres people there with different levels of experience and understanding than others maybe they can only handle dogs under 40 pounds. The ironic part is i don't think they wanted me to return because i've had the right phone number and email on file since the initial intake, and never once received reminder for any appointments. each time i asked they said they definitely called, but they didn't. i rechecked the number on file twice. they just don't notify. definitely get a new front desk person, she has no conversation skills!
