    Following is correspondence I sent to the regional and corporate offices of compass. To date, no…read moreresponse from either regional manager or corporate. I moved my 5th wheel August 5th... I rented a covered parking space from you for my 40 ft 5th wheel RV last year from May- October paying $235.96 per month and planned to again this year from paying $257.91 per month May-October. I rent from you at this high rate because you have covered parking and electricity to allow the fans to circulate air in my RV. Approximately two weeks after renting and storing my RV I found the GFCI breaker was tripped and there was no power for the fans I have running to move the air. This helps to prevent mold. The outlets for my space has 3 RVs plugged in and there is not sufficient power to run these units. The reason is you have two RVs plugged into one GFCI outlet that most likely only allows only 15 amps to be pulled. In addition a 3rd RV plugged into the next GFCI which could possibly be on the same circuit. I don't know what the other RVs are running in there units, but I only have two fans running which do not pull much power at all, but important nonetheless to me. I spoke in person with Steve Beaman, the manager for this location when I first found the problem in May. He told me he would look into the situation and try to find a solution, so I assumed he would take care of the issue. That was on or around May 20th. On July 9th we again checked on our unit and found the same situation as in May. I sent a email on the 9th attached below to express my concern and ask for a resolution and a refund due to the lack of services. I did not hear back so I called and left a message on July 11 requesting Rose Haney the Region Manager to call me. On Friday July 12th, I received a response from Steve indicating the electrician said the outlet is working properly and the power is supplied only as a convenience to our customer and not associated with the lease or price. I again requested by email for Rose to call me. I believe Steve's response is unacceptable to not attempt to solve a simple problem. For an electrician not to understand the issue and provide a solution is ridiculous. impacting at least 3 tenants paying a high rent for a service we expect, but are not getting. As I mentioned, the reason I am in your facility is because of the services I was told you provide.

    On the upside the storage is clean. The down side is a big one though. I relocated out of town…read more Stored my stuff there while I got on my feet. I'm a disabled vet and I mail all my bills out on the on or before the first. I get a letter from best Self Storage storage with my check returned to me. They stated that my bill was 1 day late and they don't accept partial payments. ( the only reason it was not the full amount was they attached late fees) the check should have arrived days before the bill was do. I was told they could not accept my checks anymore. I asked if there was a way to pay online which they denied there was. So I sent the amount they asked me to in a money order. They send it back saying now I owed more because of additional fees they added on and could not accept a partial payment. This happened again and again. They cut my lock off and videoed the contents advertising it for action. I ended up paying over 600$ because they claimed my payment was late and kept sending be back my money after sending what they said to the same day. Then when I owe nothing on the storage and I'm letting it go they give me a hard time because I could not grab everything and I told them I was willing to relinquish ownership so they could auction it off without going through all the legal crap. I didn't owe any money and I was payed up for another week. I could have been a jerk and just left it there. Another thing after the incident with them claiming I was one day late and it ended up costing me 600$ I paid extra to have money on my account just in case. They kept getting after me for having extra on my account to prevent them from screwing me again. I would avoid these guys especially if your moving out of town and won't be able to pay in person. If you do go with them and your local keep your receipt. The storage unit itself I had no issue with.

    If you are going to charge more than other storage facilities you can at least offer online payment…read moreoptions, especially since you refuse to let anyone in your building! Very difficult to deal with!
