Compass Rose is awesome! They have beautiful gifts, jewelry and candles. Their customer service is wonderful too. I love that they feature local PNW artists alongside bigger luxury brands. They are worth the stop!

This store is just what the doctor ordered for little knick knacks and a large array of various items for the kitchen, for the home, for the kids, and maybe even a hobby you may have. I recently started a hobby of collecting and sending postcards and one would think that postcards would be easy to find. Most of my friends suggested I check Archibald Sisters just two or three doors down. After the rather small selection of cards at Archibald Sisters, I went to the second place my friends mentioned, Compass Rose. There are just so many cute things in here. French presses for coffee, lots of cool stationary & cards, kitchen supplies, baby clothes and toys, random novelties and Olympia merchandise, and of course a huge selection of postcards. There were at least 3-4 racks of postcards. They were $1 each which wasn't too bad for the quality of cards. I've scene postcards for cheaper but not the same quality. I'll definitely be back to get more to continue my hobby. Oh and it's well lit and the gals that work there are really nice.

I love this store! There's always something new here. It's like Crate and Barrel, Williams Sonoma, Papyrus and a hip city jewelry store all rolled into one fun, local Olympia gem. They have cool cards and t-shirts, candles, chocolate, doo dads and what nots. My hubby bought my beautiful engagement ring from Compass Rose, and I love it! The jewelry is gorgeous and fun. I always find something I love there. If you're visiting Olympia, definitely stop into Compass Rose. You'll be glad you did.

This is a lovely boutique, with such a wide variety of fun items! But, really, it's the staff that make it the best!

There are an inordinate number of shops downtown Olympia that sell a mish-mash of stuff no one needs but would kind of like to have.

One trip we sat by the window and we were all boiling!!! On their Facebook/IG it always says come in and enjoy A/C but the employee told us it's always super hot by the windows, so no hope of a cool environment if you're in a big party. On another visit (with my 5yr old) it took them almost 50min to bring out her Italian soda. We basically took it to go at that point. I also feel like prices have gone up a lot. The average piece is around $50 or you can paint a ceramic animal for closer to $20. Overall I know I'll be back because the employees are great and getting to paint your own pottery is fun, but I wish the building/food experience was better! Still 4 stars, and watch their social media for deals!

When it's busy, the place can get awfully squishy so I'd recommend making a reservation during weekends and holiday seasons. They also have coffee and ice cream. Regardless of the season, they still push out the finished projects in the same time so we were there on a Sunday, our items were ready for pick up the next Monday. Once your seat is reserved, you walk in and pick your items to paint and a helper will bring it to your table. The paints are on the table and you need to find the number that matches the sample pallet, which is very helpful because it shows you what the paint will look like afterwards. You can write the numbers on the paper on your table to help remember what colors you're using as a helpful tip. There's many sizes of brushes and paint pens. Afterwards add your name on the bottom and take a picture of your work, that's how you claim it.

As with all craft stores such as Michael's, the pricing on most every product is very reasonably priced which makes it a whole lot easier to want to do crafting. Selection wise they do pretty good to be honest. The only real difficult thing to find is allot of items for Cricut machines as well as others that are past of a niche market. Not to mention products like this are expensive anyhow. All said and done, this is probably my favorite store (Wether it is the wife going on or myself).

I went in last night 7/19/25 around 7:50pm to return it. The man behind the counter did not appear to want to help anyone. I asked to do a return and he asked what was wrong. I told him what happened and he said he needed to call a manager. She said because I had used it I could not return it. I said their policy states if I am unhappy with my purchase I can return it within 60 days with the receipt. I only attempted to use it. Obviously I was not happy with my purchase since it didn't work for what I needed it for. She still declined my return so I left and called the Lakewood store. I asked about the return policy and told them what happened and they said they didn't understand why Lacey would not allow me to do a return. I had to drive 40 min to return my item. From now on I'll drive 40 min to spend my money. Lacey customer service is trash and they will not be receiving my business anymore.

My wife, Peggy, and I started this farm back in 2009 after our 1st visit to Sequim in 2008. Well looking over the bright purple fields and seeing all the happy bees and happy people surrounding lavender, we thought maybe we could bring this same feeling to Olympia. Since we had a 4 acre piece of property, and I didn't want to mow it all the time, we were looking for something unique for people to come and enjoy. Peggy did a lot of research and tried to find a grower that had plants that would survive in this area. We settled on Lavender at Stonegate from Silverton, Oregon. Sarah, was amazing and she turned us on to 12 beautiful varieties of lavender. We mostly grow True English lavenders but we also have hybrids, that are known for their size, scent and oil content. Our English variety, Royal Velvet, is extremely popular with cooks, distillers, bakers and chocolatiers. Our hybrid lavender's, or lavandins, are used for large bouquets and for their aromatic essential oil. We steam-distill many of our plants here on the property. They have been acclaimed to be some of the very best essential oils that people have ever used. Peggy fills our gift shoppe with body soothing products and lovely sachets, eye pillows and warmable neck wraps. We think the best thing about coming to our farm, is that people can escape the rigors of city life and sit back and just relax.
