    Warm croissant

Popped in to try the Cherry Blossom Specials. The shop was giving samples of their Cherry cold brew with foam and it was delicious. We preferred a Cherry Blossom latte and a Cherry blended drink sans the coffee in that one. Both drinks were delicious! The latte was smoothie and had the perfect ratio of coffee to milk. The blended drink was also delicious even without the coffee. It was thick and milky, almost like a cherry shake. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was cute and was decked out in Cherry decor because of the blossoms.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store was clean and the staff was super friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service was quick and there was plenty of space to sit and enjoy our beverages.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The shop also sells specialty coffees including the cherry blossom special edition coffees. Enjoy!

The strawberry machan is one of my favorites, aside from the usual capuchino that I order more frequently. Their coconut iced latte is also a good drink from here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This store is usually pretty busy and most of the people in here are ordering to-go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's very little seating, and the chairs are cramped together and solid wood which is not the most comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]So if you're a digital nomad looking for a place to work, this probably isn't the best place for that.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The people working here are cool, and they've always gotten my drink order right.

Compass Coffee was fine. Service was ok. The two employees seemed more interested in talking to each other than interacting with me. Once I ordered, this changed. The man making my drink began talking to me a bit about my drink choice. The Maple Cold Brew I ordered was, again, just ok. I was expecting more as the drink ingredients were similar to one of my favorite coffee drinks I've ever had. This one wasn't that. I took a mocha to go for my wife. She enjoyed it a lot. She said "it was one of the better ones I've had in DC". Price wise Compass was comparable to other coffee shops I've visited in DC.

Good coffee that is inching that green giant. Serves baked goods, teas, the usual fare. Service is good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Verdict - sure, I'd return here for some coffee.

Saw the sign that they have really good coffee, so I had to try. I got a caramel iced latte and I actually really liked it. I would get a coffee from there again. Would choose them any day over Dunkin

This is one of my favorite locations! It's spacious, clean, and well maintained. The crew members are always friendly. They have an array of pastries. Their rewards program is superb. If you don't go there for a few weeks, they pop a $5 reward on your account (free to join and easy to collect points) as a comeback offer. There is a handicap ramp at the entrance. The center of the coffees hop has condiments and trash bins, and there is seating along the window. My favorite spot is the corner nook or the space at the far back, but the area in the rear is next to the bathroom. The bathroom has a coded lock that you have to ask the barista for. They're currently running a cherry blossom beverage that I plan to try on my next visit! If you sign up for their loyalty account, you get the equivalent of five $5 pastries, which is incredibly generous!

I tried their chai tea, latte, and liked it. The coffee smelled really really good so I'm sure that would also be nice.

Had to find a good coffee place while visiting, and Compass Coffee hit the spot! Convenient locations and local to D.C., this coffee shop has something for everyone - your simple black coffee and espresso to bright and colorful creamy, seasonal drinks (e.g., a cherry blossom latte). Service was quick and easy - order at the counter and pay, and your baristas will carefully craft your drinks. It's a cute coffee shop with seating spaces and bright lighting. Lots of items for sale, and a small breakfast menu (sandwiches) along with pastries are available as well. The almond butter latte was creamy and smooth. Had the perfect flavor and was well balanced without being too milky or too sweet!

I've already raved about Compass Coffee in a review for a different location but I can't help but spread the love here as well. I am not in DC often but I love knowing where to find a GREAT cup of coffee in this city! And they were literally everywhere. I walked around on my one morning off for a few hours and saw them every few blocks. I barely had to map directions to them I was so sure I would come across one. Quick highlight reel: good coffee bright and clean shop fast little plants in their coffee cans all over! I am definitely not a chain gal, but I am pretty sold on Compass. ~End of rave~

    Cappuccino & Vanilla Latte

Fantastic coffee! An iced Vanilla Latte was our favorite! Cappuccino was delicious as well! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small interior with very few food choices, but a hit just the same.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Love that this spot is just off the blue line metro! Service was fast, and they got the order just as I requested -- a decaf lavender iced latte. For $7 it was a little high end, but the quality was there. There's a good amount of seating inside, and natural lighting. My meet up was in a corner of the store, and I truly enjoyed the convenience. Food wise, there wasn't too much to offer, so I went there hungry and came home hungry.

This is a cute, trendy place where I mostly female customers. Lol. Most all the baristas were women in there too! There's two different ordering counters, but only one was being used when I came in the morning. There were lots of people sitting in here chatting. A good number waiting for drinks, but not much of a line. I got the lavender latte with oat milk. It was a little over $5 for a medium. These are flat white type lattes, so they give you an extra shot of espresso which I like. It's got a lot of natural light coming in from all these windows and a neutral color palette. They've got matcha and tumeric lattes. Their menu is pretty small though, but I'm sure people like the simplicity. My latte was pretty good. The lavender has a nice flavor.

My fave coffee place in DC. Great cold brew, friendly staff and a good espresso - everyone in here seems to be ordering iced drinks today & there's some pretty new fruity ones but I'm sticking w their fab cappuccino

My favorite coffee shop in DC so far, by far…read more Dua DC is an Indonesian-coffee shop serving delicious coffee and amazing vibes -- the kind that remind you life is beautiful. They were playing bossa and jazz. I opted for the Aren latte and Indonesian beef rissole. Aren latte: 5/5 Latte with an in-house made Aren (palm sugar from West Java) for that hint of molasses and dark brown sugar This was one of my favorite coffees I've had in a while. There was a delicious coffee taste not overshadowed but rather enhanced by the smoky sweet taste of the Aren. I'll be thinking about this latte for a while. Indonesian beef rissole: 3/5 Batter-like skin rolled in breadcrumbs filled with savory ground halal beef & sautéed vegetables While I've never had this dish before, I googled pictures of what it should look like, and mine seemed to have significantly less meat than it should've. The taste was still delicious and seasoned and hearty, but it was mostly mush with some veggies and hardly any beef. While I thought the rissole was disappointing, I love the aren latte so much I'll still keep the 5 star review.

I tend to like sugar (too much) but try to drink black sometimes to try to appreciate the actual coffee flavor and for health reasons. Nice way to hydrate in a fancy way. Art work doesn't typically grab me but this art work did. If I had money, time, and comfortable accessibility to purchase, I would. I am sure I could order online and have shipped but I like to avoid shipping costs if I can. The realism and detail grab me in a way I like. The DC tunnel views that continue to beautify DC's respectable metro system show you that Jimmy is truly a local DC artist. It is reminiscent for me of Juniper Lane's music album cover Tightrope. I didn't notice this until after the fact but apparently when you buy art directly from here you get 15% of your purchase for more coffee here too. Wow. Why the missing star? This is kinda picky but if I wasn't looking or a foreigner, I could've accidentally added hand sanitizer to my coffee and well that's a big no no. Granted the bottle is labeled but I am not a fan of this being in the same area as the coffee add-ons. I know spacing is tight and maybe someone moved this bottle in this area but I don't get that sense and just think it's not a good setup. If this place wanted to expand , I think finding good NYC locations would be optimal as well. I am unsure if Philly would be good or not as an additional location as a coffee culture crowd. Of course I would still come back. It was worth the 15 min walk from the convention center in this hot August weather.

We were lucky enough to snag some goodies and got a bit of everything, we just weren't patient enough to wait to photograph everything. We did the Za'atar Gruyère Croissant, chocolate croissant, the cheese biscuit item they had (don't remember exact name) and the sfogliatelle. I'm in search of the best croissant in DC, so I regret not getting the regular croissant on this visit, but the chocolate croissant gave me an idea of what to expect. Buttery, flaky, crispy, with just the perfect amount of sweetness. The typical chocolate croissant was my personal favorite. When we asked what the most popular items were, we were surprised it wasn't the more classic bakery items, but we enjoyed what we tried. We want to go back soon to try some other items as well. My friend got a coffee and also enjoyed that! This is the perfect place to stop by for a treat if you make it in time!

Most recently went as a party of 4 and got the crab beignets, beef arepa, masa gnocci, and parillada for two. Crab beignets were our favorite - perfectly crispy and great flavor. Parillada was a hearty entree and probably best for 2-3 people. This amount of food altogether was just nice. We probably could have ordered one more thing to be extra full.
