The pandan and coconut were both equally strong flavors- I liked it better than my husband did. The Thai tea cake in a cup was also excellent, but outshone by the cruffin. They were out of a few other things we wanted to try by 11am on a Saturday, so get there early if you want something specific. The gentleman running the counter was very friendly and efficient, even when they were busy. Seriously, get the crème brûlée cruffin. I know I will be back for it.

There is a traditional Vietnamese version (ha, you Latin purists!) that uses the flavors of Vietnamese iced coffee, but ube is a new approach. The number of different cultures involved here is making my head spin, but the result was delightful, of course. A mini cake in a paper ice cream cup is also a great idea. More substantial and easier to eat than a cupcake, but still a good snack for one person. Service was prompt, friendly, and helpful. The business faces Colfax Avenue. There's street parking plus a large, free parking lot behind the building. There are a number of tables if you can't wait to get your purchases home and a variety of drinks including Vietnamese coffee, a full espresso bar, tea, and lemonade. Bánh mi and other breakfast and lunch sandwiches are available plus rice bowls. I really enjoyed my purchases. I didn't realize until I'd already taken a few sips. The staff were kind and quickly remade the drink, which I appreciated, but I did end up feeling unwell for a few hours afterwards. It's frustrating to pay an upcharge for non-dairy milk and then not receive it, so I hope more care can be taken with orders like this. I also think it's about time that the upcharge for non-dairy milk is reconsidered, even Starbucks is doing it!

I had my ear buds in and it didn't block out any of the music at all. Coffee was decent but I don't like when shops only have sugar or sugar in the raw. He then showed me the cup with the logo like I was stupid explaining the same thing and then angrily told me, "how do you want me to order this?" I told him, "I just want a double shot of espresso." I explained that I originally wanted a cup of ice to add it to my own drink. So instead of giving me a cup of ice, he took my cup and filled it with ice. Coming from someone who does work at a real Starbucks, we're not allowed to take half drank personal cups to fill with ice because it's considered unsanitary. We give away cups of ice for free all the time with the logo, so either this cafe has ridiculous rules, he didn't want to waste a cup, and/or this guy just hates his job. The strawberry banana smoothie was the perfect cold beverage on a hot day. The size was great too, just enough to sip on and chat with a friend and a little extra for the drive home.
