Food is delicious and prices are reasonable! I ordered the Camarones Italianos (which have lots of cheese!) with an Horchata on the side and everything was so flavorful. My parents got a Molcajete Super and Camarones en Bacon and they loved their dishes too! Staff is very nice and welcoming and had no problem explaining dishes on the menu. Best local eats. First time at this restaurant. We came to Compa Franks about 30 minutes before they closed and to the 16 of us, they were so accommodating. Homemade tortillas, salsa, fajitas and enchiladas everything was fresh and the staff was very hospitable. We were so happy the other local restaurants said they couldn't sit our group. Called ahead ordered tacos today was the grand opening and at pickup noticed some inside seating and person bringing food out to table, restaurant was clean and nice menu board of all the food and drinks to order, did not notice beer menu. Family owned Frank is a great cook and host he actually comes out from the kitchen multiple times to check on you to make sure your alright and so does his son. Not sure if the gentleman who came out of the kitchen to recommend some thing for my lunch was the owner, but if so, he's doing an amazing job! He is so warm and kind and inviting. They have a loyal customer from now on. My food was delicious- so good. In fact, I stopped in the middle of eating to write this review. The young girls who were cashiers were super sweet and patient, I have never been here before, so it took me a minute to know what I wanted! It took them less than 10 minutes to get my food to me, made perfectly, super hot and with my sides of salsa and crema I asked for. Lovely customer service. I got the Asada quesadilla and he told me if I wanted everything in it it will come with a chipotle sauce and I was like ok I'll take the works and it tastes just like I got it made in queretaro by my tia Anita. Pleasantly surprised! Dropped I for lunch had shrimp ceviche and shrimp fajitas, split meal 3 people, plenty of food!! Servers were helpful and knowledgeable. Frank came out we spoke for a few minutes he wanted to be sure we were satisfied with our meal. Benny is extremely attentive also. First time was a take out, tacos and burritos taste very good but I was curious about the molcajetes so I came back with my wife to try it and DAMN if was good. We showed up at 8:05 pm and we're told that they longer were taking dinning, even though they close at 9 pm. Another family had walked in 2 minutes before us and they were seated. After being told they couldn't take us they offered to do take out which doesn't make sense. I understand if you're kitchen is closing you can't take customers, but if your kitchen is closing why offer take out? If you're already going to make the food regardless (for take out or dinning) why tell us you can't us but take another family 2 minutes before. It's just rude. read more

I've been here many times now, and to sum this review up I'll say you really should go here ASAP as I feel it's the best Mexican food in Madera. So I have gone probably 10 times or so at this point and I absolutely love it here! The carne Asada is high quality and loaded with flavor. The chili verde is also quite fantastic and I highly recommend it. The chicken ish favorite chicken from a Mexican food place I've ever had!! The real winner, though, is the Al Pastor. Al Pastor has grown to be my favorite meat and this is by far the best I've ever had. No matter what I get I have to at least get an Al pastor taco as well because I'd hate to miss out on this absolute treat. The prices here are very reasonable and the staff have been nothing short of fantastic to interact with without exception. I have since moved to Fresno but whenever I find myself back in Madera I make it a point to stop here! read more

I have not had the food yet I just wanted to post a review on their service. The young lady at the register was very knowledgeable of the menu. She answered all my questions. When she had to ask a gentleman about the coyote fries he explained it with such passion I knew I had to get them. I will post a food review once I get the food. I have eaten the food and have to say it was very very good. The coyote fries were so good. I recommend eating them there so the fires don't get soggy. I had the frank sushi roll I think that's the name with the Serrano chilis on it. It was so good. Thank you to the staff we will be back soon. read more

My only recommendation is that if you order anything with shrimp, you ask that they devein the shrimp. All restaurants that offer shrimp should always devein their shrimp, but it is considered a special request at this restaurant. Otherwise, you will be eating grainy, sandy shrimp. This place used to be so good about six months ago, but things have changed. I used to recommend my clients and friends to this place but not anymore. Before, this place was fresh, quick, consistent and had great energy and environment with a line that would stretch out the door. But lately, they have not produced fresh food and get the orders wrong. They say they will honor your order next time but they don't. The cooks are different and they don't show as much care, same for the servers. I have gotten sick two times so I took a long break. The food is now bland and I'm not impressed. Too bad because there is only one good place for tacos/burritos in this area, and it's not this place. Hope things change for the better. Wish them luck in the future. read more
