I found this company when my Macbook Pro for work decided to stop working. I live and work nearby and I have passed their place a few times so their name was familiar when I was looking for computer repair without having to wait in line forever at Apple. They were very nice over the phone and told me to come in for a free diagnosis. I thought it was pretty cool that they offer that for free. I went in and Julie was really nice and explained how their process works. They took some information from me and said they'd call when they have more information, she called me like a few hours later with an update. I didn't expect for her to get back to me so fast, but was happy they were on top of it. She let me know my hard drive failed and needed a hard drive replacement. Luckily, they had the part in stock and told me they would do it right away, and asked me if my files were important. This is where I got worried. My files are VERY important so I made a big deal of this, but again within an hour they called me and assured me they got my files backed up! Super easy from my end! I'm really not tech savvy, so it's no wonder that my computer crashes (right before my finals!!!). I know.. Talk about luck! So I take my broke and sick computer to Computer Professionals. They're so great and efficient. I literally came in, filled out a form about what was wrong with my computer, talked with a staff member, left and came back the SAME DAY to pick up my computer. It was great. They thoroughly explained what they did and what was wrong. It was like going to the doctor's for my computer. I found out that my hard drive is dying. I couldn't afford a new hard drive or a external. But they can completely clone your hard drive or you can buy an external to transfer all your files. Their prices are totally fair and reasonable. I seriously thought my MacBook Pro was done for. I kept getting the start up chime, but no display or lights. I took it in to Comp Pros at 9 AM, and it was ready to be picked up by 1:00! When I took it home, there were a few light problems. I called back, and was told to bring it in two days later so that the same guy could work on it because he was now familiar with my laptop (he had the next day off). No problem at all, so I took it in when they asked me to, and by 4:45, I was told I would need a new screen. I really needed my laptop, and so I wouldn't have to go 5 business days without it until the screen came in, the technician put my laptop back together so I could take it home until the part came in--knowing he would have to completely disassemble and reassemble it AGAIN when the part did get there. When he did this, the lighting problems were fixed. They called me again at 6:00 saying I could come pick it up, and they did not charge me additional fees! It was an extremely reasonable price. I found these guys when I was looking to repair my macbook pro. I spilled water on it and it just stopped turning on. I was pretty worried because a few of my friends told me that water damage on a Macbook Pro is a death sentence, plus I had everything on that lap top. including all my music, my pictures, my videos, and everything else you can imagine. Biggest problem is I hadn't backed my stuff up either, but Computer Pros told me not to worry, and a few days later they called me with the good news... I've worked with Comp Pros a couple of times now and I have to say they have never let me down. My laptop completely shut down on me once and I was a nervous wreck thinking I lost all my files, pictures, etc. The technician that assisted me was so helpful and reassuring, promising that he would retrieve everything and make it like new - and he did. I literally would have lost all my family pics! He also helped back up my files so I would have the assurance of knowing I won't ever lose them in the future. ONLY people in LA who know what to do with a Lenovo Yoga I bought a Lenovo Yoga at Best Buy 7 months ago. Paid extra for the geek squad full service protection plan. When my laptop totally died (it is apparently a common problem with the yoga that requires a completely new motherboard) I was advised by the Geek Squad to back up my hard drive before it was sent off. Only problem : Geek squad tried and failed - said they didn't have a part they needed! I then went to 2 other computer "experts" around Westwood and they said the same thing. Computer Professionals figured out what they needed, ordered the part from Hong Kong and did the job. DOn't waste your time or money on the Geek Squad. Just go to Computer Professionals. read more

This was my experience: Had a looming deadline and a dead computer. Took it to Comp-Pros and was first told it was a faulty power supply. I rushed around town to get one, as it would have otherwise taken 5 days for Comp-Pros to procure one, and I did not have 5 days to spare. Turns out it wasn't the power supply. The end result was: Comp-Pros can't fix your computer. It could be the logic board, the processors, it could be anything. I rushed out and bought an $1,800 refurbished computer, as I had to get my work done in time. A little later, I gave my broken, supposedly unfixable computer, in for repair at another repair place. Just got a call that it was all set to go. The problem? A $3 battery that runs the Cmos needed replacing. In my case, a "$1,803 + the $65 Comp-Pros charged me" battery :( The sole star is for them actually being very nice and sweet people. I'll stop by agin for a chat but not for computer repair. read more

i will never recommend anyone to come here. The actual work they did was fine, but the service was not. My computer was ready a whole week after it was promised to be ready. and the price was outrageous. I was charged fifty dollars for a part that i found for twelve dollars online. the total cost of repair (cooling fan replacement) was 1/3 the price of my entire computer. and at one point no one answered the phone for two days. i found this place because of the 5 stars on yelp, what a disappointment. read more

I took my HP all in one computer for repairs about a year ago to Comp-Pros because it got the blue screen of death. Comp-Pros ordered a new motherboard and fixed the problem. The computer has worked flawlessly since then. The only issue when I picked up my computer was that they had lost my power adapter. They gave me a spare one to use, which I had been using up until recently when it stopped working. When I researched replacement power adapters, I realized Comp-Pros gave me one that was 120V--the computer requires a 180V power adapter. I contacted the store and told them what had happened. The person I spoke with said he couldn't reimburse me for buying a new one. So, I spent $40 on Amazon to get a replacement and posted a negative review about my experience. A couple days later, the owner of the store called me to apologize and offered to reimburse me for the cost of the adapter. Got the money right away. Businesses will undoubtedly make a mistake at some point. How they treat the customer and their follow up after a problem reveals their true nature. In this instance, the owner offered me fair compensation for my experience and even offered to throw in free antivirus software. I was impressed that the owner was so responsive and seemed genuinely interested in my receiving good service. After an initial negative experience, they've won me over and I would recommend them wholeheartedly. read more

There's been less than a one-day turnaround and I've always gotten a call from Alex letting me know when the job is completed. That's what customer service is all about. On both occasions, they have never charged me the full rate, instead giving me a break, and the job was always done right. To spend less than expected is always a good thing. My Dell XPS would not start up and gave me messages I didn't understand....so I looked on Yelp for a recommendation. They were near my home and had all five star ratings...and I see why. Allen and Alex were fabulous. They are true professionals, they know what they are doing, they gave me a reasonable/affordable quote and fixed my computer when they said they would. They saved all my data - pictures of my son, my work docs and school stuff. Important stuff to me. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
