I've been working with Computer Professionals for about 2.5 years now. It started when they developed and designed our company's website. I knew right off the bat that these people were gonna help us. We had worked with 3 different companies before them, and were not impressed with the professionalism we saw. After about 1.5 months, we had a new website that completely exceeded our expectations. Allen and his team kept telling us that we should run an SEO campaign, and that it will really help our online presence and amount of business we get. I was always on board, but my boss wasn't in love with the idea at first. My gut told me to push it, and after a few months we started getting phone calls. A few more weeks and we were getting a ton of phone calls. Its been 2.5 years now. We have 3 different SEO campaigns with the pros and we're flourishing. They were really cool about letting us upgrade our packages throughout the relationship, and I still take full credit to this day for all the work they did lol. I just have to write a review for these guys - well is actually Brian who I dealt with directly and so the review is about this place and Brian. Awesome and honest guy. My daughter was on X-mass break from college and accidentally one of us (won't give names out who), spilled wine on her MacBook Pro while she was using it on our kitchen counter top. The computer shut off instantly on the spot. I somehow was able to open the laptop right away and clean up the board. Long story - short - the laptop started working back the next day, however, we were having issues charging it. We found this place on Yelp and wanted to give it a shot. Brian was amazing. I told him that my daughter was going back to college in few days and he was able to help us troubleshoot and diagnose the laptop on our laptop same day. Brian spent some good time with me discussing our option as to fixing what's damaged, vs buying used vs buying new etc. We really appreciate Brian to take his time and diagnose the problem right away. We certainly will go back to Comp-Pros if any issue come up with our computers. read more

I recently got my computer screen replaced here and I'm very pleased with the service I received. If anyone needs a screen replacement on a MacBook, this is the perfect place for you. They are one of the only repair centers in the nation who are able to replace the just the display as opposed to the entire top half of the computer (making the procedure much less expensive). Overall, I'm very happy with comp pros and I will definitely be coming back for all my future computer issues. I spilled water on my computer and saw some awesome 5 star reviews, brought my Mac book pro over to these guys...2 failed logic boards and 2 weeks later, I get the computer back and it's still not working. They told me they put new parts into my computer but later I found out they were refurbished. They claimed Apple didn't make the parts for my computer any longer. Took it to Apple and what would've cost $1300 at Comp Pros was $575, including a one year Apple care warranty. Apple got it done 3 days, they had my computer for 2 weeks. Not impressed by their customer service. On the upside, their techs actually seem very knowledgable. Comp pros seems like a great place for simple repairs, but not the best for Apple computers, in my experience, and not the most professional if you're looking for quick and efficient service. read more

A BREATH OF FRESH AIR! Having a home based business, we are shut down without our computers. After years of working with misc companies and dealing with day upon day of trying to get someone out to fix the issues, we were so relived to have a company so efficient and eager to resolve our issues. I only wish I knew about Comp-Pros sooner! My laptop needed a new motherboard. I called Dell and they wanted to charge me through the roof. A friend of mine recommended this place to me and I ended up taking his advice....and boy am I glad I did. Comp-Pros charged me a fraction of the price Dell was quoting me and my computer is now working like it's brand new! And getting to walk into a storefront, with a friendly staff that you can talk to and ask questions in person, as opposed to being pushed from person to person over the phone......and that is something you can not put a price on. Unfortunately I have to edit my previous comment. This isn't concerning Andrey who helped me before, this was someone new. I came back because my computer wasn't restarting or shutting down. They told me it was overheating and that it was about to die. And that they might have to replace the logic board. It didn't feel right so I took it to another place that was recommended to me by a friend. Turns out it was a plugin that wasn't happy with the update of my OS that was causing this problem. It's fixed now, but these guys lost my trust. Feels like they just made up a cause to charge me for work I didn't need. Not cool. ----- Great customer service and a team of professionals! 5 stars for a 5 star company! Allen and his diligent team did a great job building the website for the medical practice / surgery center I work at and it is nicer than we could have ever imagined. They built us a custom design Wordpress website with a meet-the-team function, a Google map that gives our patients directions, and a form that people can fill out online even before coming into our office so we have their info before they get here. This helped us get to all our appts on time and made it much easier on our patience. We've been doing SEO with them for over two years now too, starting with the old site. I was called back within 48 hours as promised for a breakdown of repairs and costs (after they had waived the diagnosis fee) and I agreed. The party took a few days to come in (keyboard and mouse pad) and along with a full refresh I had the laptop back within a week working as good as new. Professional Indeed! I've had this iMac since 2008 that's been giving me trouble for the past year. My face tends to glaze over when I see a blinking question mark on my screen, though I'm fairly certain it can't be a good thing. Out of STRONG recommendations, I lugged my 5 year old baby to westside (keep your box, you guys, iMacs are the most awkward thing to transport). As I made my way to the third floor, I was warmly welcomed by Flo, who took care of me throughout the entire process. And she. is. thorough! I didn't really have to think about anything. I dropped off my machine, days later she called me and told me my options. I chose one and picked it up a now FLAWLESS 5 year old baby. So much cheaper than I would have anticipated (I was on the verge of selling for parts) And since then, Flo has contacted me several times just for a follow up! Really love these guys! I went to this place because they were close to me and had amazing reviews but my experience makes me wonder why: The lady at the entrance was barely polite and completely clueless. She kept showing me USB cables even though I kept repeting I needed a SATA cable. I even showed her a picture of the item (that costs $3 on Amazon). After a moment she admitted that she didn't know what it was. She said the technician "might" know but he wasn't coming until after noon. She asked a young salesman in the back who, better informed than her, managed to find a used SATA cable. He dropped it on the table and asked for $20. Not only the price was insulting for a used and such common thing, but after examining the cable I realized it wasn't the right one. I told them it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I was about to leave the store when the salesman insisted that I should buy it, because it was "their last one", it was "very rare", and that if I waited a few hours for the technician, they would probably have sold it by then. By the way: I found my cable across the street for $3 Their lack of knowledge, greed and amateur amateur salesmanship are just disrespectful towards custommers. I don't like giving negative reviews but after reading the other comments, it seems like many people don't realize they are being ripped-off and I wished to make this Yelp profile more accurate. read more

I actually joined Yelp just to write a review for this company. My computer was shut down by the FBI Virus in June. I contacted Computer Pros based on the previous Yelp reviews and handed over my laptop. For starters, their diagnostic testing is free! Other places such as the Geek Squad charge a fee to run a diagnostic test. Already off to a good start! The front desk person informed me that they would notify me once the test had been run and anything over a certain dollar amount would have to be consented by me. They called within a few hours as they were about to close for the day to let me know that they needed more time and would call me the next day with an update. The end result was that I had over 200 viruses on my laptop. After a few short days, my computer was returned clean as a whistle and my pocketbook did NOT take a beating. I had expected to have to decide between disinfecting my computer or buying a new one thinking the costs would be pretty much the same. I'm so glad that wasn't the case as the total cost ended up being a very reasonable $100. What really gives this company a million plus stars is its customer service. It's astounding! I would get daily phone calls with updates on my computer. Once I picked up my computer I received a follow up email asking if everything was working smoothly on my laptop. A follow up email!! Seriously, if this isn't optimal customer service then I don't know what is. I am so impressed with this company, their staff, and their professionalism. read more

Need an HONEST computer tech? Comppros is the place. I had taken my Sony Viao to another shop that had good Yelp, but their prices were too high to invest in my 4 year old Sony Viao. It needed a power port part which had to be soldered. I also had a corrupt password issue and I could only log on in Safe Mode and could not use my laptop. Sony suggested I do a "reset to factory settings". This shop said not to do that even though I had backed up to an external hard drive. Between the power port and whatever soft wear repair they suggested, it did not make sense to invest that much in my 4 year old laptop. He had plugged the power cord in and nothing turned on. So, he told me he could not even tell what the softwear repair would be but gave me a quote anyay. I plugged it in at home, and it did turn on. It had not been used in a year and only needed to charge up a bit. I went to Allen at Comppros, which is nearby to me. Alex was so honest, and suggested since it needed a part for the power port, it might be best to put the money towards a new laptop. I could still charge up my laptop but had to be careful the cord did not fall out. Besides being honest, they were far more reasonable than the other shops for that repair. Alex agreed I could do a "restore to factory settings" myself since I had backed up. They even checked what I had backed up and it seemed I did have all. (Staples, had lost 4 months of files when they had tried to repair my laptop. Do NOT go to Staples for any computer repair!). Comppros said they could not guarantee I could get that back. They would try. It was lost well over a year ago and I figured if I did not miss the files, it was okay. Their price to repair both the power port and if I had them reset to factory settings was below the other shop, Staples, and Best Buy's Geek Squad. Comppros wanted $40 to do the back up which also was more reasonable than Staples and Best Buy. Comppros has the BESTprices! Best Buy's Geek Squad told me I needed to buy a "restore disk" and Sony wanted $35 plus shipping. My ASUS Netbook had a "partition" and no "restore disk" was needed. My Sony Viao not only had the "partition" it also had an "Assist" tab which did the full "reset to factory" but also had an "automatic back up" as part of that feature. I was able to do the "reset to factory condition" and got everything back that had been on my laptop when I bought it. I am able to charge it and just have to be careful if the power cord falls out. I am using my Sony Viao right now. So, thanks to Comppros, I have a working laptop I did not junk. Had I listened to Staples, Geek Squad or the other computer shop, I would either have had to spend a lot of money with no guarantee I would get the missing 4 months and would have had to buy the "restore disk" from Sony or junk my Sony Viao and buy a new laptop. ] Comppros is honest, has the best prices, and also sells new and refurbished computers. And, they give a year's warranty on the computers they sell you. I was very impressed. For those who don't like windows 8, Comppros has laptops with Windows 7. I have already referred Comppros to friends and colleagues. I highly recommend them. They are conveniently located on the West side on the South side of Santa Monica Bl. You can park on Colby. They are upstairs. You take the elevator in the lobby and then walk up one short flight. Tech stuff is scary and we have to trust when we do not know. To find someone who is honest means a lot!
