I told him that due to some scheduling conflicts, I had no choice but to reschedule the appointment at around 6 pm, but the pharmacist told me that I can come in at any time today to get the vaccine. I thanked him for the reassurance and I went here to get Meningitis ACWY and B versions. I wanted to take these two vaccines again because of the recent Meningitis B outbreak in England, and I didn't want to get Meningitis from someone who was recently in the UK. I don't want to sound rude or insensitive in any way, but I would rather be vaccinated than getting Meningitis. The pharmacist Jason was really gentle with me and he was really good at talking to me and calming me down. He didn't take too long to prepare the vaccines. I also told him about my COVID vaccine nightmare that happened to me over the weekend. I was bedridden and nauseous AF. I threw up several times at home. Jason asked me if the illness went away the next day and I told him that I fully recovered. He was really glad. I also told Jason that I read that people with a history of headache disorders are more likely to get the rare side-effects of the COVID vaccine. He told me that's likely possible. I told him that when I was 18, I was sexually exploited and the trauma of it has caused me to develop tension headaches. He told me that he was really sorry to hear what happened to me. He pinched my shoulder and then shook it to lessen the pain from the vaccines. It was worth it. He also used a single band-aid and put it vertically.

We've used the drive thru for all of our visits, and we're especially grateful for how responsive they are and how fast they fill prescriptions when our kids need it most. Last night, after my son's urgent care visit, I stopped by CVS and had his prescriptions filled instantly. Then he was referred to CHOC hospital because urgent care was close to closing and their X-ray tech had already left for the day. We went to the hospital, got the X-ray, confirmed bacterial pneumonia, and of course he needed antibiotics. I went back to CVS again, they filled it right away, and we headed home feeling extremely grateful. I knew that there was a Walgreen's on Chapman. The CVS on East Chapman was closed right now. I went in, and found what I was looking for. Sticker patches to deal with the bites and cover them up. I also found the Benadryl spray version that can heal the bites. I got both because I needed something that is strong enough to handle the bug bites. I f'ing hate mosquitoes with a deep passion!

Not many are open until 9 pm and 6 pm on weekends. Because of their great hours, they can get busy, even at 8 pm, so expect to wait. At the same time, I've walked in and found no wait, so it's hit-or-miss. Most of the pharm techs are super friendly. The pharmacists always seem rushed during consults, but I get that they are busy. I've also received a couple of flu shots here. It's not as convenient as the one in Target up the street, but they do have a small private room, which is nice. The rest of the store is relatively clean. They do lock up some merchandise due to theft, which is annoying if you're in a hurry. I would only buy things here for convenience's sake, since there are better prices elsewhere.

Now that the one at the Village of Orange is closed, this is the closest CVS to me, although CVS originally transferred all my prescriptions to the CVS on Katella. For the most part, this CVS is fine. It can get busy, but then all of them can. What's challenging about this one is the hours are shortened compared to most stand-alone CVS's. This isn't good for people who work and might not be able to pick up prescriptions during the day. The other thing about this location is they often run our of over-the-counter medication, especially around cold and flu time. On the plus side, I've received my last couple of flu/covid shots here and found them to be very friendly and helpful. I always make an appointment which helps, but if a walk-up comes before you check in via the app, you might still be waiting 10-15 minutes. However, I appreciate the fact that they take their time with people and don't rush into just jabbing them with a vaccine and kicking them to the door.

A couple minutes later went by and still waiting. I was the only one in this small drive thru shop. I asked again and the lady asked if I had an appt. I said yes and that it was at 2:30. She said she doesn't see anyone in the system. I said to check again. She saw my name and I advised that I had been waiting since 2:15. I was finally called at 3:05pm. The pharmacy technician was having trouble checking me in. I finally saw their two interns who were practicing how to vaccinate me as they had never used the specific needle. I finally got out the pharmacy at 3:15pm. The facility needs to be better at honoring appointments on time when you only have one patient/customer in the building!

The employee assisting me explained that even though I had 10+ forms of identification with me she needed to scan the back of my drivers license to give me my meds. Another employee working in close proximity to her came over and asked if I know my drivers license number. I do and I gave it to her. I was able to pick up my prescriptions at that time. The employee's name is Noah. I so appreciated his help in saving me a trip of leaving and returning when there was another solution. My medical insurance recently changed from Walgreens to CVS. Shout out to Noah offering his unsolicited help. CVS you have an exemplary employee to be proud of representing your company. He deserves recognition. She reminds me of a woman I saw on tv years ago, but I don't know who it could be? She asked me if I was ok after going to the restroom before getting the vaccine shots.
