I have been going to Community Honda here in Lafayette for years. I love the team at Community and I love Honda. The service department is always thorough and never balks when I ask for more details. They always take time to find the root of the problem and try to minimize the expense. Last year, my old Civic needed more and more repairs. I started to consider buying a new one. I had to basically prove that my vehicle (which was under warranty) was making a noise. I was told by one service writer there that it was the brakes and it was perfectly normal. The manager said since my car had 31,000 the noise I was hearing was normal. I just wonder how many women have been told things like this and believe them. One thing I know is that I did not buy a Honda and expect it to make noises at 31,000 miles and for that said noise to be normal. Turns out it was not a normal sound and they did fix the problem. I am very disappointed in this dealership based on how this situation was handled and how I had to stand my ground till my 2021 Honda CRV was fixed. read more

I've read most all the reviews here and I was hoping to be able to give some praise and redeem this place with a 5 star rating, but they simply wouldn't let me. My story is almost that of a saga, but I'll try to make it shorter than reading the Harry Potter series. Lol. I have several cars of my own in addition to my wife's car and my 5 kids autos. Additionally, I buy and trade cars in almost annually so in my old age, I've been to a lot of dealers. Locally, we frequent the AUDI, BMW, VW, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Mazda and Ford dealers on a regular basis. So. My story. I have a 2006 S2000 and it needed a new top. I stopped in here and was quoted $1800 for the top and $1800 for labor. Wow. Big ticket item. So I decided to try and find a factory top online for less since they said they would install a factory top if I got one elsewhere. I found one and saved $700 on it. 3 months later I took it to get installed (arranged the drop off with service). 17 days later and a dozen phone calls and the car was ready. Kind of. It turned out that the mechanic who could do convertible tops was no longer employed so they called me 3 days later and told me they couldn't do it. After several calls and discussions, Community offered to coordinate the install with another shop for a reasonable fee. The top was installed and looks good. However, during the transport of the vehicle from one shop to the other, the car had an electrical issue. This was also repaired but when I picked up the car the service engine light was on. It turns out they missed (or fell off?) a vacuum hose. Aside from that the car was filthy as I picked out two handful of leaves and acorns out of every crevice of the car including the floors being a mess. Had there been no engine light on and was provided a clean car, I would have given 4 or 5 stars. I do thank Matthew and he really went the extra mile to try and make good on everything including asking me to come back another day so they could clean the car but this whole ordeal has me asking what kind of leadership the service department is under and the talent of the mechanics there. After 17 days this car shouldn't have been delivered with the engine light still on and the car filthy. (There was even sticky spots like soda on the inside dash and outside which I assume was from the guys putting in the top). Overall, a decent outcome but certainly not on par with other dealers in Lafayette. Maybe in time they will get better. I do enjoy the popcorn they offer in the waiting room and the showroom is new and modern so they have the proper facilities, it's just working to be perfect in service. Enjoy! read more

Absolutely horrible. I bought a 2nd hand truck from them, damn good price. Test drove it, all is good. Sit down to do the paperwork and signing the final paper which showed all of the numbers. Noticed there was an additional 2000.00 dollars added to the numbers. I asked what that was for, they said it was to prepare the truck for resale. What a bunch of bullshit. it was a 2019 Silverado with 5000 miles. What the hell do you have to prepare on a brand new truck with not a scratch on it. WATCH OUT FOR HIDDEN PRICING. Purchased the truck and they said they would call me when the plate came in. Bullshit, today is January 6th its been in there possession since Dec 5th. I wouldn't recommend this place nor will I EVER purchase from them again. HORRIBLE SERVICE...... read more

Not at all the Honda dealer folks here in Lafayette have come to expect, the new people in the service department obviously can not tell time, their website says service is open Monday through Saturday at 7:30 this is simply not the case. The one and only time I've taken my car to them for service at 7:50 myself and half a dozen other customers were still waiting for the service department to open. Once they finally opened at took my information I decided to walk around the lot rather than sit in the waiting are, after all they have my phone number the service wrighter said she would call when it was ready. The sales staff obviously do not want to earn a commission as I walked from one end of the lot to the other checking out the window stickers on the small inventory they had it probably took me 20 to 30 minutes to look at each one, during this time not a single employee came out to ask me if I was shopping for anything in particular or even say hello. I walked next door to the BMW dealership and it was just like how Moss Honda used to be a sales person immediately came outside to greet me shake my hand and chat with me no pressure just a warm friendly hello and a "let me know if I can answer any questions or offer a test drive". After killing an hour and a half walking around the BMW lot I walk back next door to Community Honda and just amble around the lot a little to see if a salesperson would come outside this time. After spending another 20 minutes in their lot still no a soul has approached me. I head inside to check on my car since its now been 2 hours and 20 minutes since the service brighter told me it would be an hour and a half for a simple oil change, I enter through the front of the dealership the receptionist is staring at her computer screen and never looks up or acknowledges me, I walk past three employees standing by the coffee machine in the hallway heading back towards service and nothing from them even when I say good morning, at this point I am beginning to think I'm invisible. I get back to the service department only to find my car still isn't ready, so i sit in the rather dirty waiting area and end up waiting another 35 minutes till my car is finally ready so it takes their service department 2 and three quarters hours just to do an oil change, man am I glad i didn't ask for the tires to be balanced or god forbid new brake pads I would still be there a week later. read more
