I always bring my 2021 truck here to get my oil changes. I asked if they could fix my door handle. The little plastic piece popped off. They said the bracket inside the door was broken and that part was $50 to replace, $20 for garage fee, and $350 for labor. There was no way I was going to pay that! Went home and ripped off my inside door panel, got to the bracket and it was NOT broken! I was able to fix my door handle in a couple of hours, and saved myself $450. I bought a brand new wheel for my car and they put a crappy wheel on the back door, passenger side. They charged $2500 for regular maintenance! I brought our car in a third time for a massive oil leak. They kept the car for two days and then they said there was no oil leak. That was a tremendous lie. Then they made me pay the diagnostic fee! Took my truck to Commonwealth for an oil change, tire sensor issue, got a phone call, a/c belt needs to be replaced gave the ok to replace. Got another call, I got another oil leak, told them not to fix. -- Problems with Service-- 1) they reset the monitor instead of replacing bad sensor. (Day later came on ) 2) I was charged $135, tech is not sure it's coming from. Told them not to fix, I'll consider it after the holiday season. 3) few years ago dropped off same vehicle for idling issue code, was charged $400+ dollars, said it was not fixed. I had to bring to a local mechanic. You may ask why did I go back - convenience. They have a shuttle for my wife to get back home. Purchased a used Pontiac from Commonwelth Motors on 8/13/18, on 9/24/18 got a check engine light brought it in on 9/25/18. Turns out the car needs a new catalytic converter and possibly a torque converter. (They reset the light and said if it comes back on I would need a torque)The car being 10 days over the 30 day warranty neither repair is covered. Extremely disappointed in the way this has been handled, from the sales person to service department to manager all have been less then helpful. We were told yesterday that if we didn't want to pay for the repairs, we could always turn in the car and purchase new, absolutely unacceptable. Also said that legally they are under no obligation to help us, while that is true you would think that morally and for the happiness of the customer they would make an offer to help. As a second time purchaser from Commonwelth Motors, I will say this will be my last. I would never recommend this establishment to anyone as they don't stand behind the used vehicles that they sell. HORRIBLE! I tried to buy a Chevy truck for my son in the Air Force. First they would not take a any money off the internet price...ok I asked if they would do a deal on a bed cover & installation, after 45 minutes and the the two "Managers" yelling & screaming at the salesman for even asking they agreed to take of $15.00 off a $500. option, I passed on the cover and told them I just would order it online. So I agreed to the full price and then I was told I needed to leave a $5000.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit. I told them that my son has the financing set up, we just needed 4 days to get them paid. During this 2 hour pain fest I asked the manager to please turn down the music in the showroom, he laughed and made a very nasty remark. So I tore up the check and vowed never to return to this hell hole. I purchased a new vehicle at Commonwealth Chevy last week. The sales associate, Lexi, was extremely responsive and did not waste my time. I was up front and told her what I wanted and that I didn't want to keep going back and forth. She communicated my requests and within a short time I was handed off to Mike in the business office to review my financing. Even though it was a busy night he took the time to explain everything to me, was friendly and did not force me into any add ons that I wasn't comfortable with. I have had many vehicles over the years and have also had my share of service. Today I called commonwealth service and asked if they were open on Saturday and was told yes. I then asked if I left my Avalanche early in am if they could check codes that were causing it to fail inspection, the girl on the phone said if I leave it for the day they will try to get to it. What kind of answer is that? This company has gone way down hill in my opinion, I'm not a fan. After reconsideration, I feel that I may have had unreasonable expectations of Commonwealth motors. I think my greatest frustration was that I would have left my vehicle an entire day without it being seen. Less than a week prior they serviced my wife's suburban which I purchased new from the dealership and they did the repairs the same day. Although the repairs were over the estimate by a few hundred dollars, the vehicle was repaired and done within a reasonable timeframe and done properly. Social media should not be taken on face value because a disgruntled individual can freely discredit a business impulsively and out of frustration. The services department only know how to replaced part not for repair, they charged me$40 just to replaced a brake lightbulb. If you wants to spend a lot of money for very little works. This is the place. I spend $5000 to repair my 2009 truck, 3 months later engine light came on, they told me I need to replaced more parts another$1200. Slow Service & Poor Communication I had purchased my Silverado 1500 and several years ago and used to get the car service there until they starting telling me things needed to be fixed and when brought to a different service garage they did not find any problems. I needed new tires and they had good pricing and a rebate for Goodyear Tires. So I thought I would give them a shot. How could they screw up mounting four tires. I made a 07:00 AM appointment but was able to drop it off the afternoon before. They told me it would take about two hours. I called at 09:00 AM and it was not done. They did not complete the service until 12:30 PM. When I picked up the truck I found they put on the wrong tires. When I brought this to their attention they told me the tires I wanted were not in stock even though they confirmed they were when I called in. They just decided to put on different tires without even calling me. Although they did call me to tell me the sway bar linkage was loose. I told them I would wait on replacing them. I read through the invoice I discovered one sway bar linkage was loose the other side was broken. Not what they told me on the phone. Now I have to have mount the correct tires and I not sure I can trust them to fix the sway bar linkage. read more

Silverado truck broke down just outside of the dealership, so I brought it over to them. Service department got me in very quickly, but ouch! Double the part cost and double the labor cost. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate a mechanic near by, but this place is raking it in on the poor and downhearted. Then I get taxed on top of the labor cost! Every complaint about taking your vehicle to the dealer to be serviced is true at Commonwealth Chevrolet. It's basically a 'CYA' approach to get the most $ from the customer with no regard to clear communication from the whole service team. The service underwriters said 1 thing to me, the technician tells me the decision was made using his 'discretion' and the service manager claimed not to know anything using his own story to validate their oversight in a state inspection issue. We went looking for a Chevy truck to lease for my son. He had called earlier and spoke to a Hector. My son specifically mentioned to Hector that he wanted to be in the $400/month range for his payment. Hector said..."Sure...no problem...we should be able to do that. Come on down!" We went down that evening...and after 2 hours at the dealership with Raul, who was very nice to us, they told us their computer system was down and could not give us a payment schedule for the vehicle we incurred about. They told us to go home and that they would call my son the next day. He waited and waited for Raul to call...nothing! He called the dealership himself when he had time at work...and they said the computer system was still down. They had finally called my son later in the day and told him the monthly payment would be ~ $630/month. My son said....really! Hector told him they would be around the $400/month range. How did they come up with $630? To begin with...the truck was a bare- bones 2018 2500HD....with a sale price of ~$38K. He was putting $6K down... We find it very hard to believe that a payment of $630/Month for a lease was accurate. Isn't that what they call "bait and switch" in this industry?? Needless to say, my son was very heartbroken and did not feel like much effort went into getting his sale and working around earning his business. He told Raul to forget the deal...and that Commonwealth Chevy had wasted his time and mine. He did however, find a nicely loaded 2019 GMC Sierra 2500HD at another dealership with his payment around the $400/month range that he was looking for.....and is very happy! Our experience at this dealership did not impress us at all. So...our moral of the story......Shop Commonwealth first....because you will end up shopping elsewhere later! read more

This was as pleasant a car buying experience as I've ever had. The price was fair and the process efficient. Paul Kazalski was great. He went far above what was expected. He even used his personal time to run my DMV-1 form to the registry so that my daughter could get her car that day as the 'runner' had already departed for the day's run. Never gets back to me as promised- I leased my chevy back in oct 2013 and had no complaints, even wrote a positive review. Now fast forward to my lease end deals- sales person reached out to me in June when my least wasn't up until January to try to get me to trade in early. (I am sure for his benefit not mine) When I explained my situation how I went over mileage and needed to know what options I had; he still had me come in to test drive a car but he wasn't available for the appointment he made with me and had one of the other sale guys show me cars and was basically a waste of my time because he didn't know I was over mileage and wasn't able to give me any options I might have. Suddenly after that, he wasn't at all helpful. Kept putting me off saying he had to check with a guy who might have coupons for me. Never got a call back again. Its now a few months later and my least is ending this month. I have not heard from them again so I called to find out what I needed to do on their end to buy out my least. Sure enough-he claims he doesn't know and needs to talk to his guy and he would call me RIGHT back. Never did. How you call car sales your profession and you don't know how to educate your customers is beyond me. Moving on, I am able to deal with my buy out through GM Financial and will not have to call back there again to get now here. Lesson learned, if it helps his paycheck he will help you. Brought my car in for a service because I was getting a warning about my engine overheating, despite the fact that the engine was not in fact overheating. They tried to tell me that the cylinder head on my engine had melted and it would cost nearly 5k to replace. Skeptical, I had the car looked at by three other mechanics who told me the same thing, the cylinder head was fine and the fan needed to be replaced. The other mechanics were in shock that I was given such a blatantly wrong diagnostic. This isn't the first time I've brought my car here for a service and they failed to diagnose the issue properly. Shame on me for not going somewhere else sooner but it's painfully clear that this place doesn't care about service and is only concerned with how much money it can extort from its customers. Not surprisingly, the dealership refused to refund the diagnostic fee even though it was clearly wrong. I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you want to be extorted for every last dollar they can squeeze out of you while receiving substandard service. This place is a joke. read more

I visited the dealership with my parents who were looking for a used second car for themselves. After a day of countless dealerships that were looking more for a commission on a sale as opposed to what my parents needed in a car for what they could afford. We decided to visit Commonwealth to see if they could live up to their slogan. Well, they didn't live up to it...they exceeded it. My reason for writing this review? I, who was not in the market for a car at the time, fell in love with a car my parents test drove but weren't sure about. Needless to say, Jim's understanding and laid back, non pushy approach made it so that not only did my parents find a vehicle that day, but I ended up signing papers for the car I fell in love with, but feared I could not afford. I won't shop anywhere else for my vehicle needs as long as Mr. Kowalik is selling vehicles. I recommend his service to everyone who compliments my choice of vehicle! Bought a jeep used. They just put an inspection sticker on it even though it had numerous safety issues. Complained about the crack in windshield and tail light out and the manager said light bulbs are a dollar and your insurance will fix the glass. Had to go to the dealership 3 times with issues. On the upside the finance manager was awesome. Explained everything and did his best to get me the best rate. Will not be back. I usually don't write reviews, but I thought this deserved one. I bought a used car from Commonwealth Chevrolet. First day, driving it home, it starts to over heat. I pulled over and waited for it to cool down. Did this all the way home. I believe there was an air bubble in the in the system that caused it to over heat, because I brought it back to them the next day and all they did was add coolant. Then I drive home, about 2 weeks later I start getting a code for P0344, Cam shaft intermittent signal. Bring it back to them. Pay for a rental car for two days, all they do is clear the code, charge me $120.00 and say there's nothing wrong. I proceeded to say that it will come back on in a day or two, which it does. The CEL comes on and off constantly. Now its on constantly with a P0016 code and wont rev past 4000 RPM. I am bringing it to another dealer to get looked at. Point of this review, never buy a used car from Commonwealth Chevy, They sell crap that come into the shop with many issues, as I was notified, the car came in with the P0344 code when it was traded in. I currently have a $18,000.00 car loan, for a car that is pretty much inoperable in its current state. read more

I came in to buy a new car a couple weeks ago. We sat down with Raul. Complete tool. He was the slowest thing I've ever encountered. He didn't seem like he had much knowledge. I came in looking for a Chevy Tahoe. I knew exactly what I wanted. First they told me that they didn't have black but they can easily order one. By the end they told me that the pricing they offered me is going to change if I don't take the pepperdust color they had because it was the end of the month and they needed to sell it. Anyhow , they offered me $15k for my car as a trade. They were going to buy my lease out but told me I was significantly upside down on it and my payment would be $697!! They made a sale off me already (car for my brother) that same day I was there so I feel like they didn't care if I got this second car. The sales manager came over and handed me a post card saying " shop around, you'll find out we are the best deal and you'll be back". WRONGO! I went down to quirk Chevrolet! These guys were the BEST! I'm disappointed because I have purchased quite a few cars from commonwealth before and always thought I got the best deal. They did the whole "upside down" thing on my last car I traded in and I believed them and got stuck with a $500 car payment. Knowing what I know now, I could have gotten what I owed and not of been upside down. Any who; I called down to quirk Chevy and spoke with someone who told me they can keep me around $500 per month including my trade. They really didn't have to see it to offer me what they were going to give me. My car was almost new with 13k miles on , no scratches dings dents... nothing! I went down there... they gave me exactly what I owed for it and we started with a clean slate. I wasn't upside down at all. They showed me that when they buy out a lease , they get special pricing. I owed $23,500 and they pay $17k or somewhere around there for the vehicle. He passed the savings onto me! Commonwealth was trying to make money on both ends! It was very shady. Go to quirk Chevy! They're pricing is incredible. They are the largest Chevy dealer in New England and now I can see why. They're pricing is the best. The ride to braintree sucks but it's worth it!! I have to say, I very rarely write reviews. I hate complaining. But I spent 2.5 hours at Commonwealth Motors on Saturday. My husband and I are expecting our second child, and we needed a bigger car. We were looking at the Chevy traverse. My husband had spoken to someone over the phone, who was very nice and guided us in the direction we needed to be in. However, my experiance with our sales man was very different. At first, I liked him. He shook both of our hands and was very nice. When we started to talk business things changed. He never ran mine or my husbands credit before he started talking numbers. When he gave us a quote it was far more than we wanted to spend. Commonwealth has 5 dealerships, so when the numbers did not work for the car we wanted, we wanted to check out Kia. Well, lets just say our sales guy now wanted to sabbotage our sale. We test drove 2 different KIA's, and we would have be sold on them. However, John our sales guy went up to the manager, and they talked for a while. Probably how the Red Sox played the night before, because he came back and said that if we wanted to lease a KIA we could not have a co signer unless they lived with us, and the monthly bill would be $590 to lease. Well JOhn, you lost our business. I called the same KIA later that day. I told them I had very bad credit and would need a co signer. I let them know our co signer resided in a different address and they assured me that would not be a problem. Needless to say we eneded up with a different CHEVY dealership. Got the exact car we wanted, at the price we wanted, with no co signer. Do NOT SHOP THEM LAST, YOU WILL NOT LOVE THEM. They did not want to work with us at all. read more

I drove over an hour to get there to have him tell me that the price he gave me on the phone was to get me to the show room so we could haggle a price with them. "they call this lowballing" The price was all most $2,000.00 more then the price he gave me on the phone,a good dealership will tell you the price they are asking for and then you can try to get a better price from them when you look at the car. Then the sales manager comes over to me and try's to tell me that he never gave me that price. Keep in mind the only person I talked with was Tyler. Maybe the managers should teach there sales people how to treat there customers stop wringing that bell we hear on there commercials. I had a great experience this week buying a Chevy Silverado 1500 pickup. I've owned different types of pickup trucks over the years but never a Chevy. I decided to check them out, looked at dealerships in the area, and discovered that Commonwealth had twice as many 1500s available for me to look at than anyone else. Entering the dealership I was greeted by Chris Drew who asked what I was looking for and next asked what I needed and wanted in a truck. This helped us focus on what engine/tow options and accessories were needed. I was impressed Chris wasn't giving the "hard sell" and that he only showed me what I wanted. After we agreed on a truck, the trade-in value on my current truck (I was happy with the amount, no need for haggling), Chris handed me off the the financing folks who were very efficient and helpful in getting a great rate. I love both the truck and the dealership and look forward to dealing with them, both for service and new vehicles in the future. read more
