Although the staff was really polite and accommodating, we couldn't help but feel like we got 'taken' on the price. The price on our new Honda Pilot online was a discounted $50k. We got to the dealership and the sticker price was $54k, but when we received the 'offer' from the Finance Manager, it was $58k!!! The salesman said it was because of 'the market fluctuations'. Additionally, the vehicle we went there to test-drive was mysteriously not there when we arrived. I was forced to pay Commonwealth Honda $175.00 dollars to diagnose my car even though they had no solution. There technical team was not able to clearly make a recommendation on a fix. What they wanted me to do was to pay for a service that they were guessing on to see if that would fix the problem. If it didn't, then they wanted me to proceed forward AGAIN and pay another fee for parts and labor to see if that would fix the problem. But when I was transferred to a manager there were suddenly numerous added costs, expired rebates, changed terms which added over $100 to the monthly lease. Needed to help my elderly parents buy a car. Called and texted with them to get exactly what they need so they don't have to wait around forever. Every answer I got through the chat was a lie. Including features on specific cars at specific prices. As soon as we set foot in the dealership everything changed. First they were all very nice. I explained that I cheated with Chelsea online etc. None of the information they told me online was true. They said the online people just get people in. Although they blamed it on the people I spoke to they then wanted nothing to do with us. Attitude completely changed. Manager was eating his lunch at the desk and was rude once we were asking about the lies we were told. Left and went to Canobie Lake Honda. Better pricing better customer service. No lies. They made over $500 damage to my car when I brought it there for regular maintenance. Although it was all documented, the parts they placed were wrong and caused a lasting problem I had to spend regularly hundreds of $$ to fix, they refused to acknowledge or take responsibility for it. Even if they had documents that clearly showed they placed the wrong catalog number on my car that caused the damage. I had to pay for the damage. If you really want to bring your car there please do this: keep all documentation, do not lose sight of what they do on your car and pray that they do not make any mistake, because if they do, you have to pay for it. After we were sold the car and ready to take home we were told that the Title was missing. They were unable to get us a rental in the mean time due to inventory so we were given the managers vehicle for the first 2 days. It took 7 days to receive a title. After we finally picked up our vehicle the (Anthony) in finance screwed up the registration and didn't transfer the plates but instead ordered new plates. We had a car with incorrect plates and illegal. After getting down their throats they were still Negligent and suggested we come and get the plates. Anthony was extremely unprofessional. We're were highly disappointed and disgusted with commonwealths services. They force the idea of financing (we did not and told them in the beginning), have terrible communication and organization. If I'm being completely honest, the finance managers here are really betting on the fact you lack intelligence. They tried to tell me my rate for the loan would be 4%... I scratched my head wondering how that's possible considering my credit is exceptional. Next day I called Braham (finance manager) and asked him what other banks said, the guy lied and said all the other banks denied me; meanwhile my credit report showed no other inquiries pulled from banks we mentioned the night before. I went and did the work myself and got a rate at 2.2% mighty interesting how they would've had no problem screwing me out of a couple thousand more dollars. Went in there to sign the papers and they weren't happy, I took money away from their back end and they couldn't cope with the fact they lost in the deal. Impossible to receive decline notices when no pulls were done to my credit other than one bank. read more

I would not recommend because of the lack of communication between saleswoman Jane and the service department. Shaun Berryman, the manager is also a loose cannon that cannot control his emotions. He said my time was not valuable and that I would either wait or go and he was going to do nothing about it. He also gave me his business card so I can make sure to spell his name correctly. This is not how you treat customers that just bought a $20K + vehicle. Second and last time buying from Honda/commonwealth. Shaun needs some training. You can tell it's a hostile work environment because neither Carmen, a sales manager or Jane the saleswoman wanted to approach Shaun about the issue. You can tell his ego gets in the way of the rest of the dealership from communicating when there is an issue. Jane also said they were suppose to get me right in and that I wasn't suppose to wait. I have a 2012 Honda accord that needed to be seen by the dealer. Not what you want to hear from your mechanic. From the first phone call to the very end they were great. I was dealing with Jamie at the garage and he put my mind at ease right away. They fixed my car. Didn't try to have me do anything I didn't need to do. That's a big plus in my book. Get the Honda official plan ONLY.. buy it from HONDA! I regret not doing this. NEVER buy the Portfolio extended warranty either.. it is a big time rip off. Buy the Honda official warranty... I made this mistake and now 4 months later I am still waiting for my money back. We were rushed into initialing something and ended up being lowballed on our trade in by at least 7k, when we went to renegotiate the following week we were told our deposit was not going to be refunded if we cancelled the original deal that we initialed the paper on. This place is absolute insanity right now. I recently moved to the Merrimack Valley and wanted to keep servicing my Honda with the dealership. I've been here a few times and each time the wait has been longer than the last - WITH SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS. I was here the other day and I waited TWO HOURS for an oil change - JUST AN OIL CHANGE! It wasn't busy. Not many people were there. This is the third time I've had a 2 hour wait here and I don't think I have the patience to bring my car back. If you have a Honda, brig it here for service. The service department is top notch. I have never had a problem and I've been coming here for years. The service prices are reasonable considering they are trained by Honda, so it is well worth it to pay a bit extra. The oil change is cheaper than most garages and it lasts 5,000 miles instead of the 3,000 miles at other places. The reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 5 is because I have had several issues when trying to purchase a vehicle here. The dealers are nice, but the ones I've interacted with gave the sales manager the wrong vehicle info, so the manager gave the wrong price. Probably a training issue. Next time I need a new car I'll give them a a third chance. If I were to rate just the service department I would give 5 stars. read more

The service department is not as good as it used to be. I scheduled a mid-week, mid month appt for for an inspection, oil change and tire rotation as I informed them then when making the appt that I wanted to wait for the car. almost 2 hours I am still waiting for my CRV. Dealership is not busy - not many people in service area and their parking area for cars being serviced is 1/2 empty. Not sure the value of making an appointment if they don't take the car into the shop to start the work until over an hour after you arrive. What a nightmare! Worst experience ever! It's bad enough that you have to deal with all the other stuff that has to do with the accident. But thinking it's a dealership body shop it's in good hands, was I terribly mistaken. The quality of the work was unacceptable, there was a paint drip, the taping and masking was not on a professional level, they didn't fill some of the light scratches and it shows in the paint finish. They nicked the paint and tried to cover it up and then tried to tell the insurance that it was like that, then they said they would take care of us and fixed the drip and paint chip but then messed something else up. They literally took a paint brush and did a couple passes on the body line hoping we wouldn't notice which is impossible because it's bumpy and sticks out like a sore thumb. Worst part is that area had nothing to do with the accident. We have been told at least 3 times that the vehicle is ready for pick up and we have had to turn it down every time. First time the paint didn't match, second time they said they buffed the new paint and it is the best match that's when I pointed out the nick probably occurred when they buffed it and the paint drip, third time they fixed the nick and paint drip but the paint strokes is a new issue. But the major issue of the paint not matching is still not fixed. The vehicle is a white pearl which I have had in the past. My last vehicle was a 2017 Honda crv in the same white pearl and it was involved in 2 separate accidents both times I brought it to Lannan Chevy and they took care of us. First time was the hood and it matched. Second time was the passenger fender and font bumper and it didn't match they reshot the pearl and it matched. I have taken those experiences and asked commonwealth body shop to try and shoot a coat of pearl or blend the area but I have been redirected to my insurance and how my insurance is only paying $45/hr not $100+/hr so this is the best work we will get. I am being told the plastic rear bumper will never match the metal quarter panel and lift gate as it is a different material. Be that as it may, but the difference is too obvious and that has not been addressed. I have been left with no choice but to do research and ask body shop if they are willing to try buffing surrounding areas to see if the transition is better. They have also told my insurance not to do the supplement to blend the joining areas as they are afraid they will be chasing the problem until they paint the full vehicle. Let me be clear I do not want a full paint job, I just want my vehicle to come out of the body shop looking like there was no accident that is the whole point of bringing it to the body shop. Mind you it wasn't like the car was in a major accident it was 2 panels that were scratched. read more

It is kind of like an inspection sticker, every year I have to have it fixed, HOWEVER this is not a review for the car itself, hence the 5 stars. This is a review for one of the staff. If you are familiar with this place, you pull in the bay and kind of get who you get. Last year when the AC broke I got Dwight. This year when the AC broke, I got Dwight. I think too often, and I am guilty of this as well, we come to these sites to whine and complain but not recognize people and the great service they provide. It seemed like the typical bait and switch tactic. We live 3 hours away so travel to the Honda dealership was time consuming. We brought our trade in car and arranged for purchase of a new vehicle. We had all of the paperwork in order and we agreed on the purchase price and the amount of the trade in. They did not have a vehicle on the lot so we had to wait two months until the vehicle was assembled and delivered to the dealership. We travel to the dealership and then the oh by the way started. Your car has depreciated by $2000 in two months blah blah blah. You will now need to come up with another $2000 to purchase this new car. There was no mention of that when we talked to them before we drove all the way to the dealership. They had my wife in tears before they were done with her. My feeling is that when you make a deal then you keep the deal and don't welch on it. It took 2 hours to get out of the dealership. It really left a sour taste in my mouth. read more

Jermone was on his cell phone the entire test drive and was condescending and abrasive. I was told they were going to have both the Honda Pilot and Nissan Pathfinder ready at his location to test drive. When we got there we test drove the Honda and then we had to walk across a busy street in the dark to the Nissan dealership to stand in the cold to wait for him to get the keys for the Pathfinder. We inquired about the Kia Sorento and he told us that wasn't the car for us and if we wanted a Kia it would be the Telluride. It was clear that he didn't want to sell us anything but the Honda (most expensive). When I was ready to buy he was busy bouncing back and forth from two other customers even though I had made an appointment with him. In the middle of the chaos, he had his dinner delivered and had to stop what he was doing to pay the delivery driver and get his food. He left me sitting there for 45 minutes while they were appraising my trade-in and came back with a low ball offer and then after I refused it they came back with another number that was double the first offer. He said he would have to have a manager appraise my trade-in and disappeared again with my keys. I got fed up and had to go to the manager's desk to ask for my keys and once again Jerome was nowhere to be found with them. I finally got my keys and got out of there. This would have been the 4th vehicle that we purchased with Commonwealth, not to mention we have referred a friend to purchase a car with them. I have purchased the Pilot from another dealership and had a better overall experience. After working with Lissandro Pitta, another exceptional guy, John was able to clarify how the finance process would work, especially with my credit score being below 600. He was also able to provide additional information/relief regarding my girlfriend's end of lease turn-in as Atamian's inconsistent "professionals" did not want to work with us. We were both able to get in to new cars. John was able to work his magic, provide numbers that would work well with our budgets, and educate us on important factors we needed now and after the deal. Horrible experience. Waste of 1 hr. drive and visit to the store. We scheduled appointment to test drive one of the pre-owned certified car on July 30, 2020. I conformed the availability of the vehicle in the morning with the sales representative, Tatiana over a text message. I also request to update me if anything changes. When we reach the dealership in the afternoon, we approached the desk and the person there informed us that the car we are there to see is not available anymore. I convey my disappointment, and told him that I would have appreciated a heads-up. Very rudely he said it is what it is, and ask if there is any other car I want to check (with out showing me options). I ask him what cars you have, any similar one, he again answered rudely " not in the same price budget" - as if he has judge me from my look what my budget is. I had booked an appointment to get my car serviced here for a Saturday morning knowing it'll be busy. When I arrived, I was greeted by Sergey Volodin. Very friendly and outgoing guy. I told him what I needed and want. He gave me what I wanted to do to my car with out trying to pressure me into spending more money on things I don't need. I dropped my car off and was told that once it was done, he'll give me a car. It only took them 2 hours to do an oil change and cvt transmission fluid change. When I came to pick up my car, I had a coupon that I saw on their website and present it to Sergey. With out hesitate, he honored me that discount with a smile. That's the type of service that will bring me back here to get my car service in the future. Not only was the customer service was awesome, even the prices were really fair versus other Honda's. If you don't want people to provide awful reviews of service, hire your staff back that you let go, so people are better served. Completely disappointed and dissatisfied. First and foremost, I don't do reviews often but I am so disappointed by the service that I wanted to give a heads up to anyone considering Commonwealth Honda service center. Ill try to make it short and sweet but want to be clear as possible... here goes. I found Commonwealth due to needing recalls completed a few years back and at that time i really had some great experiences so decided to keep getting my car serviced there however recently that changed and has been a disappointment and hassel ever since. First big notible thing happened in November when I got my car serviced and new tires put on. I drove for about a week or so, then the car sat for a few weeks because I went on a two week vacation. I came back around xmas and started driving it. I then noticed a slight sound while turning but didn't think much if it. When on the highway I noticed a louder and louder thumping sound so i pulled off the highway.. No flats but car was thumping so loud that i didn't want to damage anything so I had the car towed to Commonwealth for diagnosis and fix. I ended up renting a car from my breakdown location so i could get home. Next day or so Commonwealth calls me and tells me "whoever put those tires on didn't secure one of them". Well, needless to say i let them know "you did my tires". They ended up securing the loose tire and my car was fine. I asked if they would pay the cost of the rental, they declined due to the price. I didn't push it because it was the holidays and rental cars were expensive and lets be honest, mistakes happen, and at the end of the day im not looking for a freebie just be fair... well, that is nothing compared to what is happening now. I just had my engine diagnosed because car was guzzling oil, I learned that I need new pistons and/or major engine repair. I have extended warranty coverage from a separate company so not too worried. Just want to fix it, total it, whatever it takes to make next move. I worked out the drop off a week in advance. Brought my car in on 5/2. Was told about a week. Again, i wasn't worried, it's a big job and I get that but was just looking for an estimate so I can figure out work/life without a car. So by mid/end of week 1 i hadn't heard anything so i called them to get a status (again not looking for complete, just status)...they hadn't even started it! So from here Ill skip forward because everything in between is just back and forth... blah blah blah. Ready for this, they still have my car!!! Yup, it's so ridiculous at this point i had to post. i have been without a car for going on week 4. The repair hasn't changed and no add ons. I will acknowledge they had to do some back and forth from the warrenty company however the communication is the real problem here. Always me reaching out every 3 or 4 days. Every time its some new story and "ill call you tmrw with an update". I am so disgusted by the communication. When I called yesterday I was told they were just wrapping up and i would have my car "tomorrow" which was the same story I got the day before... Guess what, still no call, no update, no nothing. This is now going on 4 weeks for a "one week" job. Communication, that's all I needed. I could've worked around this. I could've easily got a rental (as it's covered under the warrenty) but instead I have been trying to manage transportation on a day by day basis thinking I will have the car "in a few days" or "tomorrow". If Commonwealth has a labor shortage, if it's very busy this time of year for them, I could've worked with that and understood but instead I have a rep who acts like i should telepathically know the status. However I write this because i am well aware this is not the reps fault. Clearly there is more happening behind the scene. At this point i am done. All I want is the service completed and my car back so that I can find an actual professional Honda Service Center. Ok, Hope this helps anyone questioning the type of service to expect from Commonwealth Honda at this very moment. UpDATe: so got a call on 5/23/2022 that when reinstalling parts a coolant pipe broke and item is on backorder till end of June. They gave me a rental and a few days later amazinglingly the part appeared. They then made me responsoble for the part however didnt charge me for the "labor" and "they didnt have to do that". What a mess, i waited 4 weeks for a 1 week job, then they broke a part when reinstalling and now i am responsible for it. Bye bye commonwealth honda... never again. read more

We've been coming here for about twelve years now, in fact we actually purchased out car a Honda Civic here, and every time we bring our car for any repairs(regular oil changes, tire rotations, tune ups, etc) without fail they end up finding something that needs to be fixed or replaced and end up charging us an exuberant amount of money for the simplest of thing. The customer service is hit or miss, but usually miss. In one occasion we needed to get a window replacement because our window had been replaced with an inferior window by Giant Glads and it fell into the inside of the door. They couldn't replace it because thy didn't have the glass at the time so they pulled the glass, which was still intact thankfully, out of the door and put a plastic in it to hold the window in place until they had the part and also disconnected the window chip so it wouldn't accidentally fall down again. Well when we went to get it replaced they replaced it and left a sticker on the window and none of the other windows worked. When we complained that the windows weren't working and explained to them that the chip had been removed so the windows didn't work they said that they had no record of that and began to practically call me a liar which at that point I began a loud argument with the lady at the counter for accusing me of being a liar and her manager came over and said she'd kick me out and call the cops on me if I didn't calm down. So then I explained to her what was happening and she just gave me some attitude and said she'd do what she could and only fixed one window and left the sticker on the window. On other occasions I've had things "magically" disappear from my car and things have also been placed back incorrectly and I've had to come back to have them put in correctly. In the past twelve years I have had nothing but grief from these people and have never felt appreciated as a costumer. I've had better service at a fast food place than here. We've probably spent double what we paid for the car in parts and repairs alone. If anything I will never purchase a car from them again or a Honda for that matter. Don't buy your car here and definitely don't bring it here for repairs. read more

This was the worst and most frustrating car buying experience I've ever had! We went to Commonwealth after going to Atamian who didn't have the car in the color we wanted. We thought Commonwealth might. They matched the deal that Atamian gave us, and sweet talked us a bit, assuring us that we'd have the car by Monday (it was Saturday). Monday came and went, and they said, "It's just an approximation. It will be here Thursday." Thursday, Friday, Saturday, all came and went. When we called and said, "Okay, we'll wait, but let me know what you can do to make waiting worth my while," they just offered to refund our deposit. So we came to get the deposit, and still a hassle, "It will be a few days before we can refund it." As soon as we asked for that in writing, they gave us our deposit back. What is frustrating about this situation is that we weren't that married to the color in the first place. The car is a unicorn, and isn't available anywhere. There are 2 in transit in the entire region and they aren't going to this dealer. If they had told us that, instead of scheming us to make a sale, we would have gotten another color, or gone up a class in the vehicle. Instead, they jerked us around. We bought the car today from another deal who was honest from the get-go about what was in stock. They weren't shady, and although they too were smooth talkers, we didn't leave feeling like they were jerks like we did at this place. Their prices may be good, but they screwed us out of the car we wanted and lied to our faces. To me, no matter how good the prices are, this just isn't worth it. read more

My boyfriend brought his Honda in for simple, tranny maintenance. I told him to go elsewhere cuz Commonwealth can't be trusted. Maybe 30 years ago, when they were much smaller, but they've continually declined over the years, staying in business due to the extremely large, Hispanic population of Lawrence. Lo and behold...it supposedly needs over a grand of work for the brakes and catalytic converter. Really?? Knowing their less-than-stellar reputation and infamy for bait-and-switch tactics, he went to our regular mechanic for a 2nd opinion. Lo and behold, yet again, neither the brakes nor the converter were in peril. Surprise, surprise, surprise! Scum like Charlie Daher give the Lebanese community a bad name! Don't let their lame attempt at humor in their commercials fool you and don't shop them last...avoid them completely!! They're unethical and unprofessional. You'll get screwed without the courtesy of dinner or foreplay. And they obviously can't read English because the reply received was ludicrous and clearly from somebody other than Charles Daher. My comment regarding the large Hispanic population of Lawrence is common knowledge and in no way derogatory. Good for you for having primarily Hispanic employees!! In my search for a Civic Type R, I came across Commonwealth Honda. One of the firs things that I commend them for was their honestly. I saw a price they listed online that they actually honored, unlike most dealerships. Thing is, I lived 2.5 hours from them and I needed to make sure everything was handle correctly before I got there to make my trip worth it. When speaking with Glorivee, who took my initial call, to then dealing with Adolfo who handle the actual sale, I felt like they really care about getting the best service. When I did get there on the day of the delivery, even with a hiccup, both Adolfo and financial manager Jeffrey where amazing in working with me to get everything done. Overall, I wish I did live closer to this dealership, as I would trust them everything to come here. read more

Just bought a used car at Commonwealth Honda and it was a classic "bad car buying experience". They have a black used Honda Civic sitting in the lawn out front advertised at a good price but it's nothing more than a bait and switch model as they claim it doesn't have a title. Can you believe that lie? They pressured me into buying a much more expensive car. The whole experience was a huge insult to my intelligence and I am now experience huge buyer's remorse. Additionally the car they switched me to was listed as "Certified". The salesperson went on about all these quality checks and about how Certified Used Hondas are as good as new. Well this "certified" car had one bad ding, one deep chip on the door, stained seats and a hole in the driver's seat. How could this car be "certified" with all these problems? It makes me think they really don't do anything at all except clean it up. read more

Brought car in for an "Express Service". Simply needed inspection sticker and oil change. They said it would take ~1 hour, maybe faster... sure no problem, so I waited. 1 hour later, "Is it done yet?", "Your car is next don't worry" 30 minutes later, "A bulb is broken. $15 to fix so you can pass inspection." 30 minutes later, "Our inspection machine is broken, we can't give you a sticker." So in total, I wasted 2 hours for an oil change and they bait-and-switch sold me a brake lightbulb, and couldn't even complete my inspection. Um, hello, why didn't you tell me the machine was broken 2 HOURS AGO? The rep didn't even have a feeling of remorse or guilt for completely wasting my time. They could at least gave me the bulb for free. The service here has no respect for your time. Forget this place. read more
