Pablo and Justin are so incredibly professional, patient, and courteous. I truly wish I could rate them, and their absolutely perfect service, higher! We were so lucky to have worked with them and their amazing crew. Our wedding food was not only fantastic and EXTREMELY DELICIOUS, but EXACTLY what we wanted. Justin and Pablo get back to you in a timely manner and facilitate with any curveballs the day (or days leading up to the big day) throw at you. We are so, so, so happy to have had them as our caterers! They also worked really well with our family and could not have been more kind or energetic (especially since Pablo was with us for 6 hours+). I have to admit that at first, I was leery of using a caterer, out of fear that the food at my wedding would be the typical, boring, chicken or fish that no one ever remembers or even cares for all that much. Most weddings I've been to, we end up grabbing junky fast food on our way home because we didn't care for our dinners! But, the day my husband and I went in to finalize our menu and pick linens, etc. Trevor was so helpful in giving us lots of options and helping us create just what we had in mind. We opted for a less traditional, more casual yet still chic fare. Trevor was able to create a comfort food buffet that felt like home but didn't look like home. He gave us great passed appetizers, and made our burger and fried chicken dinner look elegant with flower arrangements, beautiful fresh grilled vegetables, and the best jalapeno mac and cheese I've ever had! Our guests absolutely loved the non-traditional fare and still talk about the abundance of food as well as how good it was. The servers and bar staff the day of were really great, super friendly, and on top of everything. I really appreciated their help. This review is long overdue. CP catered our wedding a few years back and did a phenomenal job. When selecting wedding venues, we were generally skeptical of the ones that forced you to use their preferred caterer, but ended up being fortunate that was the case. On Maravilla Garden's strong "recommendation", we went with CP and everything went like clockwork. The food was amazing, service was excellent, and having the option to BYOB/liquor for them to serve saved a pretty penny. I would gladly hire them for corporate or social outings. read more

trevor from CPC was the best! he was our contact for our wedding at hartley botanica on 9.29.12 and we were extremely grateful to have such a patient and understanding point person for our big day. he even upgraded some of our menu items from the basic menu for free! for our wedding hor doeuvres, we ordered the crispy wonton wrapped shrimp with sweet and spicy sauce, bacon wrapped scallops with orange teriyaki glace, and spinach and pesto stuffed mushrooms with toasted pine nuts. they were all delicious, but i especially loved the scallops! our entrees were the carved roast sirloin with pearl onion demi glace and creamy walnut horseradish sauce, rosemary grilled chicken with wild mushroom and roasted garlic sauce, and bow tie pasta tossed with asparagus, peas, and red peppers in a parmesan cream sauce. the rosemary grilled chicken was the bigger hit surprisingly! we originally chose chicken just bc it was a "safe" choice. for sides, the grilled vegetables on cast iron grills with pistachio butter made for impressive presentation, but it was the white cheddar jalapeno mac and cheese that was the talk of the evening. so seemingly simple, but it packed a punch and our guests loved it. the red and golden beet salad, candied walnuts, and goat cheese with champagne vinaigrette was the epitome of a gourmet salad. now, im not sure if CPC's relationship with Hartley Botanica is the same as with other venues, but for our wedding at Hartley, CPC also provided the rentals (chairs, chandeliers, dance floor, etc). my only teensy weensy complaint about CPC is that things seemed a bit disorganized at times (uncertain pricing for rentals, emails sometimes unanswered). however, the food was so yummy and trevor was so nice and accommodating that those things were really minor. plus, im sure a simple call to ask trevor directly would be just as efficient as we all get behind in emails sometimes. :) read more

We had Command Performance Catering at our wedding at Hartley Botanica on 7/12/14. We worked with Trevor who was awesome not only to consult with before the wedding, but also the day of. He made sure that the bride and groom were taken care of the whole evening. I can not say enough about the food, people are still raving about it a month after our wedding! I was a little hesitant because they do not do a formal tasting. They have an open house where some of the food is available to try. With the amount of options available and help from Trevor we were able to create a great menu for our buffet at our wedding! This company also has rentals available for wedding items. Our linens were provided through them with upgrades available. I rented lace runners, extra night time lights, dance floor, different sweet heart table, and easels from them. I have been fortunate to have previously worked with the CPC team in my previous job - they have always served great food and have been exceptional partners. Command Performance is hands down the best of the best! They catered our wedding at the end of October at Eden Gardens in Moorpark, and we could not have asked for a better experience with them. My husband and I were planning our wedding while I was out of the country for most of the year, and Melanie was extremely accommodating and helpful throughout the whole process; she made everything very easy for us to plan. The most challenging part of the whole process was trying to decide which hors d'oeuvres and dinner selections to choose, because everything was SO delicious! The food at our wedding was incredible! Initially, I was a little hesitant to select filet mignon as an entree option because I wasn't sure if it would turn out as well for 170 people as it did for our tasting, but I was extremely happy we went with it! We had SO many of our guests raving about the food all night long (and for weeks afterwards)! Many said that it was not only the best meal they have ever had at a wedding, but some even said that it was one of the best meals they had ever had, period! In addition to the food, the service from Command Performance was amazing! We were so happy with the staff that worked at our wedding; they were all extremely helpful, polite, accommodating and friendly. I would highly recommend CP if you are looking for a caterer. I would definitely also request to work with Melanie; she will work with you to make sure you are very happy with everything (even if you have a million requests)! She also does more than just manage the catering; she's fully involved in most of the planning. She met with us and a member of the band that we hired to go over spacing and electrical options at the venue, she called to discuss potential contingency plans if it were to rain (which thankfully, it didn't!), she arranged a bunch of rentals for us - she was involved in all of it! My daughter was married at Hartley in July and the food and service by Command Performance was on of the highlights of the night. Throughout the planning stages, Trevor was responsive and accommodating to every request. He let us use our own table overlays and made sure everything was perfect. I don't normally get excited about wedding food, but all our guests agreed that the food was superb--my sister is still talking about the macaroons! Not only were people raving about the food during the wedding, but now, 3 weeks later, people are still talking about it. Numerous people have told us it's by far the best food they've ever had at a wedding. THE SERVICE: We worked with Trevor, who was outstanding. He's friendly, laid back and super easy to deal with. CP catered our daughter's wedding in late August. The food was great and several guests said the fried chicken was the best they had ever had. Trevor was our point of contact and he was patient and accommodating. I would highly recommend using them. They know what they are doing and work well with their clients. The only thing I would have changed is the number of bars at the cocktail party...with over 200 guests, you really need two bars if you don't want lines. I was so worried about having the usual "wedding food" at our September wedding. It was important to both of us that we found a great caterer, but when the venue we chose informed us they only went through one caterer, CPC, we were too in love with the venue to change our minds. We attended a tasting through our venue 5 months before our wedding. The 5 of us (my now husband, his mother, and my parents) were blown away - the food was delicious! It's actually a fond memory I now have of wedding planning, the 5 of us standing around a tall cocktail table, pigging out on that food! Fast forward to our wedding day, and the food was a hit! I still hear about the jalapeno mac n' cheese and the wedding cookies! The service shouldn't go overlooked, either. All staff were very professionally mannered and dressed. We have been using Command Performance Catering for over 10 years to host our high school's annual Back to School Night Dinner, Teacher/Faculty Holiday Luncheon, and Teacher/Facutly Appreciation Luncheon. They are fantastic! Tina is our point person and is wonderful to work with. She makes the process so easy - we provide her with our event theme and she comes back with delicious menu options that everyone raves about time and time again! Some of our favorites are the Chicken Pecan, Vintner's Chicken (with the most delectable fire roasted tomato and black fig sauce), and the absolutely divine indiviual carrot souffles. Tina and the Command team take care such good care of us. Tina always gets back to us quickly, the food is always delicious and arrives on time, everyone is so professional and we never have to worry about a thing! I don't leave too many reviews but when I find exceptional performance I think others should hear about it. To begin with, we recently attended an event at the Reagan Library catered by Command Performance and the food was really very good. Usually big catered events get you the mushroom sauce chicken breast. I was very happy to not only have excellent chicken but spectacular tri tip at a carving station, great breads, nice variety of sides and salad, all fresh. None of the usual warmed over food. Just as important, the staff was able to get my wife her gluten free meal, which was both tasty and hot & freshly prepared. The staff also came out to speak with her about other items being served which she could eat. This was top notch food and service. As a result I know we will attend more events held at the Library. If I was in need of a catering company, Command Performance would be my only call. read more

I thought it was just myself, but my maid of honor who's getting married a few months after me at a completely different venue had the exact same complaints and exact same jerk talk to her....coincidence? I think not. Since their company has such a strange hold on all the local venues I'm not looking out of town and am no longer giving Hartley botanica my business for their nursery because of their relationship with the caterer has been so unpleasant. Command Performance exceeded my expectations! For my husband's 80th party, he wanted the party at our home. I found CPC on Yelp, read all the glowing, practical and informative reviews. We met 6 months before the event, Tina came to the house, brought Kristi from A-party rental Connections to discuss the layout and design of the backyard, we came up a budget for both fair/foul(tenting the entire yard) weather party. Tina emailed me the extensive menu for a buffet dinner. It was amazing, we chose the assorted cheese/fruit platter, Three hummus dips w crispy crackers as set appetizers. For the passed apps, we had Thai meatballs, cilantro shrimp tacos and chicken quesadillas with chipotle. Everyone LOVED the tacos, I only got one. The buffet entrees, braised short ribs in wine sauce, chicken breasts in garlic, artichoke cream sauce, eggplant napoleons garlic rice, country salad, five cheese jalapeño Mac & cheese. Something for everyone's dietary restrictions. The coffee/cookie dessert bar was 5 star and much appreciated. The event was fantastic, everyone still raves about CPC food. We used Command for our wedding in September and could not have been happier. We worked with Joe from about one year out. He was always responsive to our emails, went back and forth with us multiple times to help us make the right selections and was just a pleasure. The tasting was incredible - we got to try every single item we were considering, in full portions, which was quite unexpected. We practically rolled out of the tasting. The wedding itself was flawless. We got so many compliments on the food, that it was truly delicious and not typical wedding fare. We also knew we wanted an untraditional dessert incorporating chocolate chip cookies (my favorite) that wouldn't pull people off the dance floor. So we had a cookie ice cream sandwich station which was a HUGE hit. The staff was also very attentive to my husband and me during the entire day, bringing us water during photos, setting up a full spread for us to enjoy after the ceremony (cocktails, red wine, white wine, champagne, water and all of our hor d'oeuvres) and ensured we had whatever salad and entrees we wanted during dinner. All in all, a wonderful experience and we would recommend Command wholeheartedly. Welp...hate to "fit in" so much here with the other reviews...wish I had something cool & different to say but I dont :-( Command Performance catered my wedding on 9/15/2013 at Hartley Botanica in Somis, CA & WOW...just WOW! I heard great things about their food before (from foodies like me, so the reviews were trusted), but I was still a little nervous to try it myself. Just the words "wedding food" are such a turn off. You think dry & overcooked & typical & blah. But not the case! Everything was so yummy & flavorful & perfectly cooked. We were originally going to do the 3 appetizers & then the bread/cheese display but there were too many yummy appetizers to choose from so we ix-nayed on the bread/cheese display & did the 5 appetizers instead! The buffet spread was also very attractive & inviting. Not that I ever saw it TOO close because we had 1 of their servers bringing us our food & drinks like we were royalty! :-D We also had access to our own appetizers & beverages while we were taking our photos after the ceremony so we didnt have to miss out on that like alot of couples do. The basil lemonade is phenomenal and the white cheddar jalapeno mac & cheese is to die for. They also had some pork belly sliders at our tasting that made my heart skip a beat. We worked with Trevor & he was also a complete joy to work with. I felt like I had alot of weird requests & was KINDA Bridezilla-ish & he never made me feel dumb or annoying. The fact that alcohol was BYOB actually worked out good too because (whispering) Costco will let you return unopened alcohol :-) That's a really cute thought, but most of our leftovers have been consumed by us :-O Anywho, yes...Command Performance is top of the line...the bees knees...ay okay. Command Performance catered our May wedding and the food was INCREDIBLE! Their catering menu is quite extensive and Chef Maya & the staff are quite helpful in making sure meal choices all pair nicely together. We worked mostly with Justin and he was a pleasure to work with--he was great at helping us finalize our menu, he had awesome ideas for our signature drinks at the bar, and anytime we had a question, he was very quick to respond! We did family-style at the wedding and our guests loved it. We chose the Roma Baked Salmon, BBQ short ribs, jalapeno mac n cheese, charbroiled zucchini, asparagus, & red pepper and the carrot souffle. I have had guests call me even now three weeks later to ask us who catered our wedding and what food we served because they would like to try to recreate our meal at home. I have had multiple people say they never remember what they ate at weddings but that our tri tip with chimichurri and the mango lime chicken is unforgettable.
