Patty is the greatest and I recommend everyone hire her immediately! Merlin's Kitchen catered our wedding on one of the hottest days of the year, yet the food that was provided to our guests ended up being what everyone remembers. We just got married and Patty did our catering. She is FANTASTIC and knows how to make you relax. She and her staff created a menu for us based on what we wanted. It was delicious. Our guests had some many compliments. Her staff saved our butts when we forgot to make coffee. As my poor aunt fiddled with the machine, Patty's staff magically appeared from the kitchen with two pots ready. She is a details person, her staff is great and our food was delicious. She also works in her budget and you will be pleased. We love Patty for her professional and caring touch. She is a sweetheart. read more

ON POINT PROFESSIONAL, AMAZING FOOD! I worked with the owner, Patty, with planning my daughter's Sweet 16 birthday party. Not only was she patient with all the Pinterest Boards my daughter sent in, but she was also kind to my pocketbook! Even with my budget, Patty was able to provide excellent service, fantastic food, and all within the theme of the party. We did mini chicken and waffle sliders, mac n cheese, kale salad, chili and corn bread, and much, much more! My 80+ guests at the party were full. I even had left overs to spare-- Which my guest grabbed up and took home. Needless to say, I didn't get to take any home because it just shows how good the food was! Servers were great an on top of it. Always accommodating and fast on refilling the buffet. Can't wait to plan the next Shindig with Merlin's Kitchen. I just have to find another excuse to throw a party! read more

Wow Patty thank you for allowing me to enjoy every minute of my party because your staff took care of everything! The hors'douvres were delicious and the main course of chicken picatta, tri tip and all the side goodies were a hit. You were so easy to work with in the last few weeks while we narrowed down the choices and finalized our menu. Your staff was extremely professional, very experienced and a pleasure to work with. I will be using you again and recommending you to all. xoxoxo read more

We hired Patty/Merlin's Kitchen to cater my boyfriend's 60th birthday party. I was so frazzled. Patty, the owner sat with me. She was so patient, calming, knowledgable!! I was so relieved that we were able to sort out my vision, what would work with my budget and we came up with a wonderful and creative menu. The guests loved the food so much my only struggle was keeping up with replenishing the platters! She not only delivered food that made me a star...but also helped with coordinating linens and timing. We were so delighted we called upon Merlins to do our Passover Sader and my life not only got so much easier, but the food was flawless! I would recommend Merlin's Kitchen over and over and over again! If I didn't love cooking so much, I'd hire them weekly! read more

Patty and Collen from Merlins kitchen are amazing. They most recently catered my daughters Wedding at Hummingbird. Over 200 people, full sit down dinner. Appetizers were the bomb, salads perfect, Filet and John Dory were superb. Wouldn't go anywhere else. They are our families caterer as long as we are around. read more

Descent catering food. Service is decent but sadly not excellent. Wish they would go the extra mile for the price

I was shopping in the Via Colinas little ally way and OMG.. I didn't really know this place was open for everyday eating, and the lady who owns the store next door told me to grab lunch there. She couldn't stop raving about how amazing the food was.. Well she was right. It was Taco Tues. specials and THE BEST ever. She even makes her own chips from scratch. She told me every item on the extensive menu is done from scratch. EVERYTHING... Food was awesome.. The table next to me stayed dirty is the only thing I could say, and the staff were not busy, so I hope she reads this. But other than that, I'm still sticking by the 5 stars since the food was incredible! Also that Via Colinas shopping is sooo great now. Really great stores in there now.. I'm gonna go YELP them too. read more

As a makeup artist/hair stylist for weddings, I've worked with Patty on many events in the past. That's why I hired her to cater my daughters wedding two years ago. My friends are still talking about the delicious food, wonderful wait staff, and the fabulous "presentation"! If you want the BEST in the business, hire Patty!!! I never call anyone else. Since catering our wedding at the last minute 10 years ago (and doing a spectacular job at a very reasonable price), I've used them for dozens of events at home and in business. They're collaborative and creative throughout the planning; efficient with set-up and preparation, and faultless at cleanup. As a bonus, they're just the NICEST people-- something guests always make a point of telling me afterward. I've recommended Merlin's to everyone and happily recommend them to you. By the way, ten years after the wedding, we hired them to prepare the same menu for the anniversary party. Impossible as we thought it would be to improve on that memorable meal, they did it. And they made sure we found ample leftovers in the fridge. My caterer for life. read more

Merlin's Kitchen is the best in the area! Excellent food, very reasonable, wonderful staff and Patty is a real treasure. Every event is custom, exactly the way you want it. I'm not surprised as I read over the rest of Merlin's Kitchen reviews that most are --without a doubt, hands down, FIVE STARS. Patty Campbell of Merlin's Kitchen delivers the best of everything when it comes to catering. I chose Merlin's to cater my own wedding in May 2013 and continue to receive compliments about the food, presentation, and service. I mean, it was seriously the BEST food ANYONE had EVER had at a wedding. It was THAT GOOD. Patty is approachable, kind, and flexible. She was considerate with our concerns and allowed more than one tasting so we could get exactly what we wanted. She worked with us and helped boost our confidence, knowing that serving amazing food was high on our priority list. Even still, after the event ended, we could not believe the value we received for what we paid. As an event coordinator, it will be difficult to recommend anyone else for Catering, since she shined beyond everyone else I've ever hired, used or recommended. You will not regret and will not be disappointed choosing Merlin's Kitchen for your event catering needs. read more

Where should I begin? Patty and her amazing team catered my wedding on June 1, 2013. They exceeded my expectations and absolutely knocked it out of the park! Patty is a doll. She is calm and sweet and she knows her stuff. Her staff is hard-working, warm and provided great energy. The food? AMAZING!!! We had 120 people and EVERYONE raved about the appetizers, the margarita bar, the dinner, the service. In fact, I am not exaggerating when I say that our guests told us that not only was the food the best "wedding food" they ever had but they thought it was some of the best food they ever had. There were more than enough apps (filet mignon bites, coconut shrimp, etc...yum!) passed around during the cocktail hour. The homemade chips and salsa were to die for. The margaritas were DELICIOUS! We had a sit-down dinner and our guests raved about the large portions, that everything was hot, and that everything was presented beautifully. Merlin's is wonderful. Really fabulous!!! LOVE!!!! read more

I hired Merlin's Kitchen to cater a bridal shower for 40 people. I worked with Colleen and found her to be very accommodating and easy to work with. I booked Merlins Kitchens for a four day film shoot in Malibu. The service was fantastic. They delivered early each day, and the entire crew was very happy with the food. I would recommend Merlins to anyone! read more

June 11 was a combo graduation party for Mother/ Daughter from UCLA. We had all ages from 21 to 81, Everyone raved about the food and the help. The seared ahi, mushroom tarts, ruben sandwiches and tuna tarter tacos...fantastic. We had a number of people stay overnight and everyone is enjoying the food this morning. Staff was great and very friendly and courteous. Patty is the best. We would certainly use her again and recommend. And very fairly priced. We had had bids for twice the amount. Bravo Patty. And got up this am.....no mess what so ever. !! Thanks Patty read more

The food is bomb but the service sucks. I truley believe that the young lady who works at the register should stay in the back until she learns how to properly greet repeat customers and smile. They dont open when they say they will, they dont take down order times correctly, and they dont thank me for my large ticket purchases that my company makes quite often. I personally will never eat here again and i am urging the company im at to not order here anymore as well...i have never been treated well and i have been going in for the past 2 years... read more
