Hired Distinctive Catering for my daugters newlyweed brunch. They came prepared and set up was quick. The two gentlemen that showed were friendly and professional. I requested an omelet bar and a waffle/pancake bar. Also included was a coffee station along with juices. Breakfast potatoes and bacon. The array of ingredients for the bars were incredible. The beautiful fruit platter had choices I had not even thought of. All of my guests complemented every detail and also couldnt stop saying how delicious everything was. During the event they helped clear tables which was such a nice touch. I would absolutely hire Distinctive Catering again. Highly recommend read more

Distinctive Catering is FABULOUS! They have done it again! Troy, Ray and their amazing, hardworking team have delivered another wonderful evening of scrumptious food and impeccable service! They really went all out this time! I have been hiring Distinctive Catering for decades now because I know that I can count on them to come through every single time! First of all, they arrived early, which made me feel relaxed as the host. They were a bunch of busy bees, dressed in their freshly pressed uniforms and looking every bit the professional chefs and serve staff, setting up the Tri-Tip carving station & Italian pasta bar, and creating an atmosphere of abundance and delicious beauty! Each station looked and smelled amazing! My guests didn't even wait until our emcee announced that the food was ready! lol They just followed the mouthwatering aromas emanating from the stations! In the Italian pasta bar, each guest's plate was made to order by their creative chefs and satisfied each one's preferred taste combination, whether it be chicken breast, Italian sausage, shrimp, spinach, mushrooms, fresh basil, sun-dried tomatoes, a myriad of other fresh veggies, garlic, Parmesan cheese and delectable sauces, like pesto, marinara, vodka and Alfredo! The tri-tip carving station was manned by another set of smiling chefs including their famous Caesar salad with Parmesan cheese, delicious garlic bread and extra large platters of fresh, seasonal fruit! They set up refreshing lemonade and iced tea as well and shared their ice with the bartenders too! Well-prepared and kind this band of talented chefs, they were! I always say that the food makes the party - and Distinctive Catering really brought their A-game! Everything looked and tasted fresh and delicious in glorious abundance! What an epic birthday party it was! Thanks Distinctive Catering! I want to have another party just to hire these guys again! read more

My wife and I chose Distinctive Catering for our 35th Wedding Anniversary. The process BEFORE the event was top notch, as Troy worked with us over details and options for food choices and services. We went with a pasta bar for our 100 guests. It was a HUGE hit, as guests raved about the delicious, hot, made-to-order dishes! Troy and his crew were friendly and efficient. It seemed that they'd done this a thousand times, so they required no direction from us. Topped off the evening with the most delicious lemon squares (highly recommended, by the way!). They left their work areas spotless and wrapped up by collecting, scraping, and neatly stacking the dishes. Can't wait to use Distinctive Catering again. Sharing a few pics! read more

The Parents Association at our school hosted a fundraiser this last weekend and we used Distinctive Catering to feed 90+ guests. Troy and his team absolutely crushed it. They were on time, professional, and had an amazing spread ready for our guests as they arrived. The food was absolutely fantastic! We had sliders, coconut shrimp, and chicken and steak skewers. We also had the plum sauce meatballs which were so tasty. I got compliments on the food throughout the evening and am continuing to hear great things from my guests days later. We will be using Distinctive Catering for all our events going forward. Highly recommended! read more

Troy and his team are flawless. I called Troy to help me with my brother's Celebration of Life reception. From our first conversation to day of the event Troy handled everything seamlessly and with compassion. Not an easy event to plan (200 guests) Troy provided a detailed quote, answered questions promptly and worked directly with the venue taking the stress out of the day for our family. The food was delicious and service attentive....we received numerous compliments. Not easy to accommodate 200 guests arriving at once! I can't thank Troy and his team enough!!! read more

Troy and his team were an incredible beacon of safety during a very sad and uncomfortable time for my family. My sister in law passed away suddenly and all of us were reeling with grief while trying to pull together something that would honor her in a way she would be proud of. I don't live in so cal but volunteered to find the caterer. I called this team based on Yelp recommendations. I explained our situation to Troy and the first thing he shared with me was that he would make this as easy on us as possible, and make us proud, which he and his team did in spades. He asked me to trust him and while I did because I didn't have a choice, I'm so glad I did because he did make this awful experience easier. The food was delicious and he and his team were so thoughtful, not missing any detail. They came in to the home while we were at the ceremony, set it all up, served it to our guests when we arrived, and cleaned everything up at the conclusion. None of us had to do any work whatsoever. My sister in law's passing was devastating, and this team coordinated a beautiful reception, on a Sunday. All the guests couldn't stop complimenting the quality of the reception. Thank you Troy and team! read more

I don't normally leave reviews, but I had leave one for Distinctive Catering. When I say, Troy was on the phone with me for about 30 minutes until we worked out the right package for my 60th birthday party, he was very patient and the rest is history. The service was superb from beginning to end, with little to no supervision. They came in found the perfect space for set-up and it was on and popping. The food was amazing and the staff were very professional and interactive with the guests. There were nothing but compliments for Troy and his team! Highly recommend! Job well done! read more

I was in charge of planning my mother-in-law's funeral luncheon. After reaching out to several caterers and waiting for callbacks, I was very disappointed. I decided to try googling caterers in the Burbank area. Distinctive Catering caught my eye so I called them. Troy answered the phone and literally answered my prayers. I told him what I needed and was pleasantly surprised to hear him say he could do exactly that. Not only did he prepare the menu I wanted, he went over and above what I asked for. The food was simple, as I requested but not lacking in flavor, presentation or professionalism. They truely made our luncheon a celebration of life. My mother-in-law would have loved it. The guests all raved about the food. Troy and Roy were such a pleasure to work with. read more

Troy and his team did an INCREDIBLE job with our swim banquet. I have never planned an event of this magnitude and Troy was incredibly helpful, patient, and experienced. He was there every step of the way from planning the menu, coming to the venue to help plan the setup, advising on how much alcohol to order, and much more. All the food was delicious...NO DRY CHICKEN OR LIMP SALAD. All the food was made with quality ingredients. His team was professional, hardworking, and kind. Julia and Edward worked the bar and they were amazing. At the end of the night everyone pitched in to get the venue cleared up before we had to leave. I was so impressed with their services. The food was amazing, I got a lot of compliments throughout the night and presentation was beautiful. Everything tasted delicious. They assisted me at every turn and were so professional. Troy was a pleasure to work with from the beginning to end and made this party planning so easy. I have to say I was a little worried because, I found them online without any references but great Yelp reviews, a little scary for me, I did not know what to expect and they exceeded my expectations. If I have to rate Distinctive Catering, I would say 6 stars. They should get an award for being the best caterer out there. Not only that they served good yummy pasta bar but their crew is amazing. Paul, Ray and Especially Troy are the best. You will for sure have a great party if you hire them. The day of the party is always so stressful, but with them around, they make it so easy. They just do their thing, and the set up comes out really really good. They exceeded my expectations. I was so impressed the first time I've used them at my husband's 50th birthday at the club house this past October. The set up of the table was amazing. There's 2 chefs cooking the food for you. There's tons of different fresh ingredients that's nicely served on the table and you get to pick what you want in your pasta and they cook it in front of you. The food comes out superb. Hot and delicious. They also have bartender. Paul was our bartender for both parties. He is awesome too. I just provided the drinks and he sets up the rest. I just love them. Troy is the best one too. He will cater to your needs and budget. He is so wonderful, humble, funny, nice and so helpful. I could have not have a successful 2 parties if not for this great company. They just catered my husband's party last night and once again it was hit. Everyone had so much fun. I m using them again next weekend for my work party. Worst experience ever!! I hired Distinctive Catering for a grand re-opening of a medical practice in Valencia. They show up 30 min late, ill prepared, without items they stated in their contract and through email they would bring. All of the food was cold and Troy told me not to warm it or light the chafing fuel. Troy asked me to help him take all of the plastic wrap off of the food, but did not bring scissors to do so. So this task took forever. My guests were arriving as we were still unwrapping food and I was helping him set up. He asked to be paid in either cash or check, so I wrote him a check(check#1). Several months later, I emailed him regarding the check he had not yet cashed. He then emailed me back to inform me, he had lost the check, and would need a new check. I wrote Troy a new check (check #2). After a few weeks I contacted Troy regarding the uncashed 2nd check. He said he had not received the 2nd check and now needed a 3rd check. I wrote Troy a 3rd check in which Troy finally cashed a month later. Needless to say, I will not be hiring Distinctive Catering again. This was the most stressful encounter with any vendor I have ever experienced. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

I hired Distinctive Catering to cater my 40th birthday party in my backyard with 80 guests. We chose appetizers and the Tuscan made to order pasta bar and they also provided a bartender. Distinctive Catering is amazing !! First they tease you visually- their displays are gorgeous with an abundance of beautiful fruits and vegetables in season ! Then you notice the tantalizing aromas beckoning you to try their appetizers, salads, entrees or desserts ! When you finally taste these delectable treats, you are left utterly satisfied !! They catered my sister's surprise birthday party several years earlier and I heard nothing but praises from all our guests !! They showed up early, with everything ready to go. Their displays looked so beautiful and inviting. Their staff was very professional and friendly. They fed a hungry group of party-goers and we had food left over ! My family and I chose the Tuscan menu for that event and we were so glad we did ! So of course I thought of them for our next event ! I chose the pasta bar this time-oh how we all pigged out, getting in line over and over to taste the different selections they had to offer ! My personal favorite was the sausage and basil with a light marinara sauce- but then again the chicken with the pesto sauce was quite remarkable too ! - not to mention the shrimp with the penne ! Each guest's personal pasta dish was made to order right then and there, fresh as can be ! That was an epic event all thanks to Distinctive Catering !!! I highly recommend Troy and Ray, the amazing team from Distinctive Catering !!! I can't wait for our next event, because the food really makes the party- and these guys really deliver !!! read more

Troy and Ray of Distinctive Catering did a Birthday Brunch for my wife at our home on Saturday, January 7th. Weather did not cooperate, rain and cold. Instead of setting up on the back patio, they were in the garage. Everyone stayed dry. No problem getting the omelets with all the goodies to select from and the waffles. The food was outstanding! My reference was a brunch we had in 2001 and more recently, the brunch at the JW Marriott in Summerlin, Las Vegas, NV. Distinctive Catering was the best! Everyone loved it. Thank you Troy and Ray! The food you provided for my husbands 50th birthday was great! We chose the cocktail menu as our guests would be arriving at different times. Delivery and set up were on time and everything looked great, especially the fresh and colorful fruit assortment. Picking a favorite...tough choice, our guests loved the meatballs, chicken satay, and the artichoke squares, all at the top of the list.
