Stoner witch ice cream sandwich

I'm a Comfortland diehard (visit the yelp page for the Astoria location for proof) and was happy to see them expand to the LES. I stopped in for dessert while in the area recently (they're open late) and got the stoner witch ice cream sandwich and PB&J rainbow cake - both amazing as usual. Also tried a sample of the apple cider slushy, which was soo good!!

Crispy Chicken Crunch Wrap

WOW THE ENTIRE menu is so cool and everything on it looks so good and unique flavors. Love that they have all types of sandwiches like literally ALL and have cool sides and treats. I got the crunch wrap and it was honestly bursting with flavor and better than I expected. The tortilla was a bit mid but there was lots of avocado spicy mayo and chicken and tomato and all of it was integral to the flavor. It was super juicy and not dry at all which I really appreciated. And the crunchy piece inside made it not too mushy texture wise at all. If they used whatever tortilla son del north uses this thing would probably be one of the best things I've eaten in my life. FYI it's also MASSSSIVE. And for 14$ great portion size. I am so excited to comeback and try new things. Not to mention they have rotating specials!

White Locus II

Amazing sandwiches and comfort food at this LES shop! The original is in Astoria. Excited a second location opened across the bridge. The decor is fun and has happy vibes with nostalgia at every corner. We ordered two specialty sandwiches-the Texas Hold 'Em Patty Melt and White Lotus II. The unique flavors came together and elevated classic into a flavor bomb of deliciousness!

Ambiance and Decore Great. Food Fair Price. Menu Extensive. Portions Great. Service is great, too. Ambiance and Decore Great. Food Fair Price. Menu Extensive. Portions Great. Service is great, too.

The best restaurant in Astoria is now in Manhattan. Nobody does beige food in a more fun and unique way than Donnie and crew. Get whatever fun new specials they might have plus the Cosmic Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich, Rainbow Cookie Crumb Cake, and any other desserts.

Vegan Breakfast Po'Boy

Came here for lunch and got the vegan breakfast Po boy sandwich and was very happy with it. The bread was surprisingly delicious it was warm and toasty and not overly chewy. I loved the addition of hashbrowns in it as well. I will say my sandwich was very ketchup heavy which i personally love but if you're not a ketchup fan maybe get it on the side. overall the staff here is friendly and the prices arent too bad. will def come back soon

I needed a sweet pick-me-up after missing a train home. While the ice cream flavors looked interesting, I opted for a blue coconut iced matcha latte instead. Aside from the striking visuals, the drink tasted great. There was sweetness from the matcha and the coconut but not super overtly sugary. I also got a box of four donuts. They're a little pricey, but each donut is a pretty hefty ring of chewy glutinous rice flour batter. I had them the following morning, and the donuts still tasted fresh. There was a little bit of oiliness from the frying, but it did not taste off or too greasy. I think this is from the meticulous frying process and good management of the oil. I got the Cookies and Cream, Rose, Lavender, and Pistachios. I loved the Rose and Lavender flavors, especially the lavender which had a solid floral flavor without being perfume-y. I look forward to trying other donuts and sweets from Bear Donut in the future!

In fact, I work so close and the donuts are so good that I have now become a regular at The Donut Pub. I normally get two donuts, and have been exploring the types of donuts. So far I've had the chocolate dipper, double chocolate dipper, Brooklyn creme, vanilla creme, strawberry creme and Boston creme. They never disappoint. All of the staff members are efficient and sweet, even when the shop is busy. Even if there's a line or they are making a bunch of orders, their service is consistently extremely fast without sacrificing quality. Their matcha latte and regular coffee latte are also pretty good. The cups are adorable. The interior is the old diner from back in the 90s style, and surprisingly they have a decent amount of seating considering how small the establishment is. Run, don't walk! (You might feel like you should run off the calories if you try the food but I personally feel like the donuts are worth it)

This spot is one of the more well-known doughnut shops in the city, and after trying it, it's easy to see why. We ordered the Hazelnut doughnut and the Pistachio doughnut, and both were excellent. The Hazelnut doughnut had a rich chocolate flavor with crunchy hazelnut pieces on top that added the perfect texture. The Pistachio doughnut was lighter and had a great balance of sweetness with a nice pistachio flavor throughout. Both doughnuts were soft, fresh, and packed with flavor without being overly heavy. The location inside Grand Central gives it a really cool NYC vibe as well. It's the perfect stop to grab a coffee and doughnut while exploring the city or waiting for a train. Between the quality of the doughnuts and the atmosphere of Grand Central Station, this ended up being one of the best dessert stops from the trip.

Now the doughnut was a pretty good one and I'll prob stop back by next time I'm in town but it wasn't the best I've ever had. Anyways Doughnut Planet had a great glaze topping, soft but crisp doughnut that is served warm, it's doing all the right things for sure!

Anyways, one order of the mini donuts, they are super customizable and if you need help picking and choosing flavors and toppings, the staff member can provide suggestions and pairings. I got the Ube and Pistachio and they both taste great, especially when they're freshly made and warm. I've also tried the Strawberry Covered Chocolates and those strawberries were massive. The problem with massive strawberries is eating them. If I had a knife, I could cut them into smaller pieces as eating them on a skewer stick got really messy. Also the strawberry itself overpowered any of the chocolate taste, so it didn't balance well in terms of taste. For sure favored the milk chocolate over the dark chocolate.

Filled donuts are bursting at the seams with custard that tastes like egg yolks, cream, sugar, vanilla and little else. The orange cream cheese donut is generously frosted with, I'd guess, a mixture of cream cheese, marmalade, powdered sugar, and cream. Based on what we've tried, the donuts at Caroline's are old fashioned, unadulterated and excellent. I recently picked up four donuts for the fambly: the aforementioned orange cream cheese, creme brulee, Boston cream, and raspberry glaze donuts. This was in the afternoon around 4 p.m. and all of them were perfectly, wondrously fresh. The person at the counter (the male proprietor, I think) assured me in his charming French accent that they freshly fry donuts several times a day. Creme brulee was the fan favorite with the hard, crisp, sugar shell on top cracking delicately under a knife to reveal a loose, rich, custardy filling. But across the board, donuts were beautifully made (both aesthetic and delicious!), and well frosted / glazed / filled. The raspberry glaze by itself was a touch too sweet for our tastes, but applied with restraint so the overall effect was balanced. We are not in the donut market very often, but have had this place bookmarked ever since my esteemed Yelp colleague, Alan S., reviewed it last year. Now that we've tried these beauties, I think we're going to find many excuses to be back (e.g. for Hannukah sufganiyot, anything round for Lunar New Year, anything fried for Diwali, anything that can support a candle for birthdays, etc...).We really like this place and we suspect you will, too.

I'm talking about an establishment that makes high-quality gourmet treats. As you can imagine, I was thrilled to see this one opening in the neighborhood last year. I have been to Caroline's several times since it opened its doors to the public. I've tried a few of their items, including the glazed twist, Boston creme, coffee donut, and strawberry filled. The glaze twist is one of my favorites. It's wonderfully sweet while not cloying, and I especially enjoy topping it with the Bon Mama berry jam I have at home. The Boston creme is truly made with love. It's sufficiently stuffed with creme and topped with a thick layer of chocolate ganache - the expensive stuff! The coffee donut is also delicious. Of everything I've tried, the strawberry filled was my favorite. You can tell their strawberry compote is homemade and not too sweet. The dough is light and fluffy and generously coated with granulated sugar. What a treat!
