Hugo is the first and only person you should call if you're experiencing any AC/furnace issues. Don't even waste your time calling Michael & Son or FH Furr, you're just going to pump money in their pockets so they can blow it on advertisements. I contacted Hugo at the end of summer 2016 because my AC unit wasn't providing cold air throughout my house. He came out on a day I was working from home, thoroughly inspected everything, it took him some time, and he did it for free. He was friendly, respectful, and very professional. He made suggestions, taught me a couple things about heating and cooling, then advised me purchase a new unit because the system I had was an older lower end model. He also quoted me for cost to repair my older unit, which I wanted to avoid because I knew it reached it's lifespan. He quoted me on a couple of new units, and options for investing on an AC unit with no furnace. He also suggested that I contacted his competition, which I did in the following weeks only to be disappointed. Hugo called me back about a month later, I kindly declined because it was fall and it was cooler outside. I thanked him for his service and told him that I would contact him before the spring season. The moment we had our first 60 degree day in February/March 2017, I called Hugo and asked him to quote me on the same options he provided in the fall. The previous time I spoke with him he warned me that prices usually increase yearly but I was surprised they didn't go up much, and didn't break the bank. His team scheduled the new AC/furnace installation on a day that worked with my schedule. It took awhile (which was expected) for them to complete, but they did a great job! I called Comfortable HVAC because my grass cutters were damaging the risers under the outside unit. Risers are the cheap plastic cups that the unit sits on. Jose arrived and I explained the problem. He had some in the truck and replaced all four, easily lifting the corner of the unit a bit and sliding the old ones out and the new ones in. Old risers out, new risers in in a flash. Then he used some small rocks he had in a bag to slide under one side of the base because I asked him to level it better. That's it. And they charged $205. Diagnostic fee ($45) plus 4 risers & labor they said. He did no diagnostics - I pointed out the problem - no testing of the unit, no gauges to measure freon or anything else. And 6-inch risers cost less than $3 each. No military discount (that one hurts, I'm a surviving spouse). I believe $205 is way too high for the job and I won't be calling them again. read more

Hugo came out to our house two hours after our initial call on a Saturday afternoon. Considering it hit 90 degrees today and we are brand new homeowners, this was a huge relief for us! By the time he showed up, it was 80 degrees in our house. We got a service window estimate of 3 to 6pm and he arrived right at 3 on the dot! Before I start, please feel free to reach out to me for proof to anything I'm saying here. I have everything in writing. Your experience may vary, but i would stay away from these folks. The issues I'm writing about are two-fold. First the horribly disjointed customer service, and second the extremely vague (at best) communication with the technician. Issue 1: We found this company on yelp and contracted them based on the reviews from Yelp. We had them come out to our location and diagnose an HVAC unit that was not blowing cold air. After an initial diagnostic fee, we were told that a critical part was faulty and was causing the issue. We contacted the HVAC manufacturer and had the part sent directly to these folks for installation. They completed a final check after the repair and told us that the issue was resolved. They charged us only labor (obviously). A few weeks later the HVAC unit again started having problems. We were AGAIN charged for a diagnostic fee for the service. Now here's the first rub. This company was contracted to diagnose and fix a problem because that what they do. So then after the initial repair and system check why was there a problem that was not found?!?! So we reluctantly paid ANOTHER diagnostic fee and had these folks back out. This time we were told that a full system check revealed no leaks or other issues. The tech "Hugo" stated that the refrigerant might be a little low and so he suggested filling that. We did. The issue seemed to be fixed. One week later the issue came back, this time they went back out and filled the system and we were told the the issue was resolved. It was not. This time they were kind enough to send an invoice for $150 for something they, on TWO other occasions have FAILED to diagnose and repair. We are again left with an HVAC unit that is non functional. I've tried contacting this company a couple of times since the latest unresolved issue and have received ZERO response. Issue 2: *again, this is all documented The back end of this business (staff work) is terrible as well. We have had nothing but issues with invoices from them. They have tried to acquire payment for duplicative invoices on more than one occasion, Are non-existent when it comes to telephone conversations, and most recently, simply do not reply to emails entirely. Like I stated in the beginning, everything I'm saying is documented and although your experience may have varied, I would suggest looking elsewhere. read more

I had a very unpleasant experience doing business with them, and I will not seek their services in the future. 1) They are not upfront with their prices. Hugo estimated my repair would be ~$400 and then he presented me a bill over $800. 2) Hugo told me he does a 2.5x markup on any hardware, and said I could not supply him with any hardware that I could purchase from nearby stores. 3) Hugo failed to completely repair my HVAC system. When I called him to check up on his service, he wanted to charge me an additional diagnostic fee. After haggling with him he waived the fee. 4) Hugo told me my electric current was so high he wouldn't work on my unit. Based on this information, I hired an electrician to inspect my wiring. The electrician told me the current was completely fine. He said if the current were as high as Hugo had mentioned, the wires would be glowing and causing a fire. read more

I have searched many repair services for heat and A/C. I was lucky enough to stumble upon Comfortable Air Services. Hugo, who is the owner always was ready to help anytime of the day. He's very courteous and always wants to make you happy. He has a great team of workers, but he is always willing to come out himself if you request him. I called him after hours one night because my heat went out. He came over within 30 minutes and had us up and running in the same amount of time. He even showed me how to do the repair myself the next time. Wow! Who does that? He also replaced my A/C unit last year. Hugo was rude and extremely disrespectful. When i inquired about cost, he stated that they inflate their price and they are in the business of making money. WOW! news to me. I thought HVAC work was free. Further after stating I need to think about it, he stated he had to do another job and that I needed to hurry with a decision. He also stated that I should have been at the rental complex so I understood what was happening. I told him that I would rather do business with someone or a company that is more respectful to its clients and appreciates their clients. Customer service is the key in this industry. He spoke to me as though I was an uneducated individual who was wasting his time. I informed Amy of the bad service and even though I just flushed down money on a maintenance agreement with this company (never again) I would not refer them to anyone. She was very pleasant but couldn't offer me any condolences, instead told me that she was shocked by Hugo's behavior, maybe Hugo isn't use to people questing price or asking more questions. Personally, I suggest if you want someone who behaves like a sleazy car salesman that you use this company but I would rather spend more and get better service. I had an a/c unit go out over the weekend and I wanted to try someone to resolve the issue outside of the big name companies. Yelp brought me to Comfortable Air Services, where the weekend on-call attendant Walter Pineda provided exceptional customer service. He arrived within 45 minutes of my phone call to him. He arrived in professional attire with boot covers to protect my carpets and addressed the issue, explained to me the issues, recommended some future maintenance care to the system to prevent future problems and most importantly resolved the issue. He was professional, kind and well equipped with knowledge about my unit. I will be calling Comfortable Air Services to setup preventive maintenance and for any future problems that may arise. I'm not usually one to post a negative review, but my experience with Comfortable Air over the past year has been frustrating enough that I felt I had to comment. I first called Comfortable Air last year when our heat when out during one of the coldest weeks of the winter. The tech who came to my house was prompt and nice and I felt like I was getting good service. Then the next week, our heat went out again, which meant another repair visit. I was skeptical about the explanation given about why it would go out again so soon after I had the furnace fixed, but still, he was nice and seemed professional. Thus, I was persuaded to sign up for an annual service contract, which would allegedly include a spring and fall service visit. I was told that I would get a call in the spring and then again in the fall to schedule the appointment. No one called for the spring visit and I had to call and initiate it myself. Then in the fall, I still hadn't received a call as of 11/28, so called again. This time, they had trouble even finding my information and, after finally getting an appointment scheduled, I got a call back telling me their records show I already had my two annual visits. They tried to tell me that my repair service in February was actually the fall service I had paid for, despite the tech's representations at the time that it would be a prospective contract. And a repair service I paid for separately should not count as one of my contract service visits! Otherwise, why am I paying extra for a service contract? Also, their record keeping is apparently terrible. In any event, do not sign up for one of their service contracts or you'll end up getting scammed out of your money. read more
