Formal Complaint Regarding Cleaning and Pressing Service
The quality of service I received at the Comet Cleaners location in Fair Oaks Ranch.
I brought in a brand-new suit and three brand-new dress shirts to be pressed and finished. The three shirts had never been worn. Unfortunately, what I received back was unacceptable.
One of the shirts now has what appears to be a burn or heat-related stain on the back. The damage is clearly visible in the photos I have attached. This is particularly frustrating because these shirts were custom-made for me in another country and are not something I can simply go out and replace locally.
The other two shirts were also not properly pressed. There are obvious areas where the iron appears to have completely missed the fabric, leaving spots that are still visibly wrinkled. These were supposed to be returned pressed and finished, yet portions of the shirts look as though they were never touched.
Unfortunately, the suit was not much better. I specifically paid to have the suit pressed and returned wrinkle-free. Instead, it still has significant wrinkles and honestly looks as though it may have been taken directly from a self-service drop bag, placed on a hanger, and returned without any meaningful pressing being done.
I understand that the drop-off process is automated, and I can accept that as a convenience feature. What I cannot understand is the apparent lack of quality control at pickup. Someone should be inspecting the finished garments before handing them back to the customer. Had anyone actually looked at these items, the missed areas, wrinkles, and damaged shirt should have been immediately obvious.
I paid more than $30 for my suit to be pressed and for three shirts to be pressed with starch. In return, I received:
* One brand-new shirt that appears to have been damaged by the cleaning/pressing process.
* Two brand-new shirts that were not properly pressed and still have obvious wrinkled areas.
* A suit that does not appear to have been properly pressed at all.
* Little to no customer service or quality control at pickup.
* A price that was not clearly posted beforehand.
The combination of the poor quality of the work, damage to a brand-new garment, lack of inspection, and the amount charged is extremely disappointing.
I am requesting a full refund for the service. I would also like the damaged shirt addressed appropriately, since this was a brand-new custom-made garment that was returned to me in worse condition than when I dropped it off.
I have photographs documenting the condition of the garments as they were returned to me and can provide them as needed.
I hope Comet Cleaners will take this complaint seriously and resolve it promptly. I paid for professional garment care, and that is not what I received. read more
