Took an expensive pair of pants in didnt realize they had burned the leather belt look to a crisp until I tried to put them on while traveling. I took them back and the lady said all pants with a leather patch burn. I've been taking them to comet for years and this had never happened. She was rude and only offer to remove the loop n rewash the leather stains. They came back just as dirty I will tell everyone I talk to not to use them. read more

Since this location in Boerne changed ownership they have not provided great service. They lost a shirt of mine and told me it wasn't ready yet. When I went back they said it still was not ready. Third time they said it was at another store and they would get it to me soon. Last trip they wanted me to fill out a claim form to receive only 15% of the value of the shirt. It was a nice button-down dress shirt and was only to be laundered and starched. I wanted to go find a comparable replacement and get reimbursed but they declined and said I had to fill out a claim form. I told them forget it and I would NOT be coming back. Brought in a jacket to remove stains. First pickup, stains were still there and didn't feel it was dry cleaned. Staff said they would do it again and it needs to be specified if there is a stain for pre-treat...bc I'm bringing clean clothes to be dry cleaned and it was pretty obvious if one simply . Second pickup, stains were still there and still felt the same smh. I decided to pre-treat the stain overnight and wash cold on gentle cycle. Voila! Stain is gone. Wasted $32 on this place and will be on my list of "avoid" places in this town. read more

My Father; a Combat Veteran passed away on Memorial Day. The following day after getting his affairs in order, I prepared his military uniform for his burial; noticing it was a bit dusty from sitting in his closet, I took it to Carl's Cleaners to see if they could spruce it up a bit. Without hesitation, they said yes & we can have it back to you the next day. The very next day, early in the morning I received a phone call to let me know that the cleaning was ready to pick up. Upon arrival, I was told not to worry about payment & that they would take care of the bill. If that is not superior customer service, I don't know what is! I'm extremely grateful to them for their quick & amazing job they've done on his military uniform & their hospitality & condolences to my lost loved one. I will continue to do business with them in every aspect of preparing all of my future clothing & families clothing. Their hospitality, attention to detail & professionalism is second to none. I wish I would have read the reviews prior to taking my shirts here. I had them clean three French cuffed shirts two of which were new and one I've never worn and they ruined all three. The cuffs have brown stains and what appears to be iron marks. The sleeves on one of the shirts wasn't even ironed. All three shirts were stained throughout. Do not take your clothes here. They've now cost me over $500 to replace the shirts as two of them were custom made and embroidered with my initials. Unbelievably terrible quality. read more

I dropped off one item to the Fair Oaks Ranch location, which was a BRAND NEW bedspread I had just purchased off Amazon. When I received my bedding back about a week later there were numerous black stains on the skirt of my bedding! In addition, there were about 6-8 pins holding the bedding on the hanger and were pinned so tight that it was pulling on my already delicate item. Pointing it out to the employee, she was very nice and said that they would re-run it at no cost. I also asked if they would not pin my item as I was concerned about the delicate nature of the fabric. Another week passes and I go to pick up my cleaning and the stain is still there and it is pinned all over the place again! In fact, the spotting agent they apparently used actually left an "oil like" stain on the bedding, in addition to the original stain that they did not get out. Reluctantly, I let them run it again. Fast forward to today and Carl's Cleaners has had my bedding for about a month and a half and, while the staining has improved in appearance, they have still not been able to get the complete original stain out of it. The employees at the Fair Oaks location have been very nice, but defer everything to the Boerne location because that is where the owners live. Rhonda at the Boerne location was also very nice, but could only communicate that she had to wait until the owners were in to decide what the next steps would be. The length of time it has taken to actually speak to an owner, in addition to everything else, has been very frustrating in and of itself. Today was the first day that I actually spoke to Tammy, who is one of the owners. She offered to run my item yet again. With the amount of times my bedding has been cleaned and all the pinholes that were put into it, I explained that I was concerned about the compromised quality of my item at this point. When is enough, enough? She then insisted that they did not put the stain in my bedding and, instead, accused me of doing it/insisted I received it that way from Amazon. I am an honest person and would NEVER go to these lengths to try to "cheat" the system. I would have been more than happy to get a refund for my cleaning and ruined bedspread and go on my merry way, but she refused. I even had my husband call with no success. Needless to say, I feel disrespected and cheated and now I am out a new bedspread and a dry cleaning (which wasn't cheap)! Do yourself a favor and NEVER do business with these people! You will regret it! Horrible horrible experience and I am in utter shock as to the way I was treated by the owner, Tammy. Prices are ridiculous! Nearly $18 to have a dress dry cleaned or $16 for a ladies blazer. I had a blazer "press only" and it looked worse then when I brought it in from the store. When my husband took it in to have it re-done they gave him a hard time and tried to say it was how the jacket was made. Then another jacket that was "press only" they dry cleaned it and still charged me the price even though it was their mistake. Not going back! read more

Unfortunately, had two coats dropped off for tailoring and cleaning, both coats were not tailored correctly and had to have the coats adjusted more than three times. Was never contacted that the coats were completed for the third time to which the total timeline of dropping the coats off initially to final completion took over 70 days to complete. I recently took a pair of black denim pants to be cleaned and pressed. They did NOT crease the pants in the same place, resulting in a double crease down the front of both legs. I left them to be redone. Upon return, there was a white line next to the crease. The person at the register said they washed them twice, and it wouldn't come out. I asked if there was reimbursement for the damage. She said I would have to talk to the owner. I asked to talk to the owner. She said she wasn't there. That seems to be the standing answer. They ruined my wedding dress. I dropped my dress off on Monday and on Friday they hadn't finished at 11 am. When I got my dress, it was covered in dirty spots and still wrinkled. It was pristine before they touched it. They refunded me my money, but my previously pristine dress is still marred by the dirty dark stains and the grubby fingers of careless "professionals." I have been a loyal customer of Carl's Cleaners for the last 3+ years, spending over $2,500 per year. I recently picked up a shirt that had been discolored. Bruce at Carl's Cleaners tried to claim that the fabric was not treated properly by the manufacturer and told me I needed to return my shirt. The shirt was actually a custom made shirt with fabric from a company in Italy that has been around since the late 1800s, so the fact that Bruce said the fabric was essentially inferior is highly suspect. I emailed Bruce pictures of the discolored area of the shirt, which was actually on the pocket and what ever chemical was used (most likely some form of bleach), bled through the pocket material and shirt material. Bruce has not returned my phone call or replied to my email. It is unfortunate that I have been loyal to this cleaners and spent close to $8,000 with them, but they quickly deny that they ruined my shirt and will not even return my call or reply to my email. read more

I use the Fair Oaks location but after taking one pair of pants twice (and they still aren't right), I decided to stop at the boerne location to speak to the manager or owner of the business. When I walked in, I asked to speak to that person and was told they called in sick, I'm the only one here, what do you need help with? I showed her the pants. I told her about taking them and they were pressed but possibly not dry cleaned and definitely not spotted about taking them back again and the spot was gone but the pressing was unsatisfactory and there was a space on the front knee that was all puckery. The woman looked at me and asked what did I want her to do? I frankly told her that obviously she doesn't want to do anything or think anything needs to be done. I told her that i would have to find another cleaners and she thanked me for coming in and allowed me to walk out. No attempt at apology. No attempt at explanation and no attempt at recovery. Wow. I drop of a VERY large load of cleaning. The teenagers quote me around $3 per shirt and "a bit more" for dresses. Pick it up today and the bill was over $400!
