It was my first time taking my cleaning to this cleaners, I drop them off on Saturday and was ready on Wednesday, I pick up my cleaning and I was not impressed by them at all, I took 12 pcs of items and felt it was a waste of money I paid 140.00 they hung up my sweaters why? Idk? I had a sweater pull over told them about the stain and they didn't even try to take it out, they gave me some bogus saying they can't do it due to color loss,, no dust covers, I took some jackets no coat retainer. I just got a bill for $65 for ONE DRESS dry cleaning without any forewarning that they were going to gouge me on pricing. I had an entire suit cleaned last week for $26 which seemed reasonable so I returned with this dress. When I questioned the woman who answered the phone, her excuse is that women's clothing is more expensive. I then informed her that the prior suit was a WOMAN's SUIT and that I have NEVER paid the cost of a dress to have it cleaned. This is GENDER DISCRIMINATION in the form of price gouging that feels like robbery. She even tried to explain that some women's dresses have beads or other fancy materials that justify the cost of cleaning. My dress was not a Prom dress, bridesmaid dress, or formal dress of any kind, it was a sundress! Then her excuse was that it had a lot of pleats. Enough excuses! I took two items to dry clean. First the items were wrinkled when I got home to look at them. It looks like they didn't even dry clean them. And secondly their prices are ridiculous. I paid almost 20.00 dollars for two ties that cost less than that. I definitely never going back and I would never recommend this place. read more

I haven't shopped around much to know how much I should be paying for dry cleaning but I do like the efficiency and timeliness of Culpeppers. The ladies who run this cleaner are really sweet and friendly. I never have to wait in line and my clothes always come out fresh and clean. You can request overnight service (without a charge) which is great, or you can let your clothes stay forever like I do. On my last visit I brought in 2 blazers and a coat and they were $26 total, which I thought was reasonable. The building itself is really tidy and there is a tiny parking lot outside but it is never that busy. There are closer dry cleaners for me but I'll probably continue to use Culpeppers for all my dry cleaning needs. read more

They are by far not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I had been using the one on Broadway near Central Market and routinely I would end up missing clothing, the buttons would break or the price would not match what I was given. However after reading reviews on Yelp and asking a friend I decided to drop off some work dress shirts and I was impressed by the service and the price. Definitely worth it, especially if you have any designer clothing and want to ensure your items are not destroyed nor misplaced. They have extremely nice customer service and are always greeting me and others with a warm welcome. I genuinely recommend culpperd! read more

I was very excited to give this place a try based off the reviews. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. I've only taken my expensive work slacks here. They've been able to remove food (pizza) and shea butter stains. They weren't able to remove pen marks. The last two times I took my pants I noticed very obvious snags on both pants. One was all the way across the thigh and the thread was sticking out. And the top belt loop section was also snagged with thread sticking out. It's not really fixable which is very unfortunate because they were my new $70 pants :( Another set of expensive work slacks were a maroon color. They pretty were new and this was the second time they had gotten cleaned. When I got home they looked worn/washed out and some areas looked completely faded. They treat me like family too. they're not too big to be personal. when something is not done right, which is far and in between they offer right away to do it over. also the laundry sheets are fanastic, price is great for the area, and they have improved the folding of fluff very organized and neat. i love them. would recommend to anyone in the area. read more

This was my very first time using a dry cleaning service. I really hate washing my dress shirts and after so many washes, they just lose their quality. I recently bought new shirts and did not wash them. I wanted to find a dry cleaner. So I searched and found this business on yelp. Being blocks away from my house I figured this was meant to be. I completely read the prices wrong when I dropped off (Monday about 530p) my items (1 vest, 7 shirts), I was thinking i was going to pay about $48+ but when I picked them up on Thursday, my bill was only $24. The clothes looked gorgeous, medium starched how I requested and hung and wrapped. Since this is my first and only experience with a dry cleaner, I can't say the prices are high. I think a vest ($6.08) and 7 shirts ($2.71 ea.) Is actually rather reasonable. Especially if I'm receiving quality service such as I did on my visits. read more

I brought in a silk tie with ballpoint stains (cleaning cost $7) and two pairs of pants with set in stains ($6 each). I was hoping that given the high prices this place could take care of the stains. They came back unchanged with a note that this was the best they could do. When I got home, I was able to get the stains out of the tie myself with some quick n bright and effort. My recommendation is to stick with your favorite $1.99 cleaner. At this place you are paying three times the price without any additional benefit. Nervous about my name brands I did a Yelp review and discovered Culpepper Cleaners. I went to the NW Military Hwy location and had great service, the staff was friendly and well informed. The woman at the counter knew the fabrics I was brining in and the designers which made me feel more at ease in the care they would take with my clothing. The pricing is higher, $6-$7 a shirt as other reviews mentioned, but you get what you pay for and I was very impressed with the work done and the care taken. They were even able to get out a candle wax stain on one of my shirt sleeves. read more

My husband and I recently got married in the Terlingua ghost town right outside of Big Bend National Park. It was a celebration to end all celebrations, and my wedding dress was proof of the good time that was had. By the time it made it's way to Culpepper's, the skirt was covered in dirt and desert residue and it sported a very dramatic red lip imprint right in the center of the bust from my crazy dancing friend Sally and her inability to maintain her balance. I was nervous that the stain wouldn't come out as it had been sitting on the dress for almost four days before I could get home and drop it off. I was also nervous about having my dress cleaned as it was a custom designed gown made of hand dyed organic silk, but my worry was for not. Culpepper's did an AMAZING job with my beautiful party dress. It looks brand spanking new, without a trace of red lipstick or desert smudge on it. It wasn't cheap, by any means, but it was a job well done. My husband also frequents Culpepper's to get all of his nice business suits cleaned, and they always do a phenomenal job. I had an expensive suite and 2 pairs of expensive pants dropped here and came back with holes in them. I returned them to complain and was informed that the process was for my items be sent to Jeff Culpepper for review. After reviewing my pants Jeff concluded this was no them and that I have an insect in my closet. Are you serious? then explain to me that only the close that I take to Culpepper Cleaners are the only one with holes in them? I already contacted (and complained) to the BBB about their (his) poor demeanor and business practice. Do you think since you deal with hundreds of customers that this so called insect may reside in your facility??? How many others have had this issue? I spoke with Jeff on the phone this morning, very unprofessional to say the least. I recommend everyone inspect your clothing before and immediately after picking them out and walking out. With my suite and 2 pairs of pants was well over $2500.00 that Jeff ruined and he sits there saying "I've been in business for X years .... blah blah blah" (totally irrelevant). take ownership of your actions and that of your sub par business practice. I took my favorite old cashmere sweater to them for cleaning and repair. It had a large hole worn in a sleeve and I didn't have much hope for it. Well, it came back fixed beyond belief! This place is one of the best dry cleaners I've ever used.
