I have been going back-and-forth with the Xfinity call center since the May 3rd. My elderly father got a spam call saying that Xfinity was offering him a 50% off discount. I am the handler of his account so I called and they informed me that it was a spam and to ignore it but the representative I had talked to told me she could lower the price down around $30. I repeatedly asked her that we don't want any channels or anything changed at all. If that was the case we did not want it my elderly father got on the phone and said the same thing to the representative. I do not want anything changed I want everything kept the same. If it can't be kept the same we don't want the change. She said nothing will change except your bill After she did whatever she did two of his cable boxes that he watches the most TV from did not work she ended up canceling those two boxes to give us the discount without telling us before beforehand that she was doing it. The next day I called and the representative I talk to you on the phone said that it may take about 24 hours to get it up and working again to call back the following day so on day three of my elderly father having to sleep in a recliner just so he could fall asleep because he doesn't have the TV working in his room. They told us that no the boxes you had were too old and aren't compatible anymore so you need to go get new boxes we then went to Xfinity and assembly row it was helped by Robin Rowley. She was extremely helpful, extremely professional kind, and understanding. It was the best customer service from Xfinity that we ever had. So now we're on day four we go home. I hook up his new cable boxes for him and they don't work so I had to call customer service again which takes about 10 to 20 minutes to actually speak to a representative I was on the phone with this representative for about two hours trying to hook up the cable boxes. She then told us that oh you need to buy new TVs cause the boxes aren't compatible with the TVs at this point I was completely outraged. She said she could work on it on her end and it would take another 24 hours. On day five they still did not work. I called customer service yet again and was helped by a gentleman who was extremely helpful. Got the boxes working and promised us $100 discount for the inconvenience of not having two cable boxes that we pay for monthly and that I would get an email in a couple days saying if that discount was approved. On May 15, I get an email saying that we are not eligible for the discount yet again I called customer service took about 20 minutes to speak to a representative and I automatically asked to speak to a supervisor. Not only are the customer service people, incompetent, and don't know how to do their job, but the supervisor was completely unprofessional, rude condescending and said that they couldn't give us any type of discount because they don't do that type of stuff her words exactly. I obviously was not happy about it and I let her know that I was not happy that for an elderly man to have to sleep in a recliner from May 3 to May 15 is absolutely unacceptable for what could've been an easy fix. I also told her to go back and listen to the recorded phone calls so she could hear her representatives give out the wrong information because those representative should either be fired retrained or not in customer service as should she not be as a manager. Personally, me and the rest of my family do not use Comcast and we are trying to get my father to get rid of it especially after the experience we have been going through with these incompetent employees of Xfinity but he's had it since 1986 and he doesn't like change. So if this is how they treat so-called diamond members and people who have had their services for 38 years, then something needs to change. It won't be long until we can finally get my father away from Xfinity. read more

I've been on the phone with Comcast for 8 hours today. They took me off my pkg. plan, telling me they were putting me onto another plan that was EXACTLY the same, just had a different name. I kept questioning them. They insisted NOTHING would change and I would pay a few dollars less. When I found out it wasn't true when I put my TV on the next day...DVR and Netflix were screwed up, etc. and hundreds of channels were gone. When I called them, they said they could fix this, then I was told it was impossible. I couldn't get my old plan back and basically, it was my problem this happened. Said they were sorry, but there was nothing they could do, even though 4 different supervisors told me they would make it right. I spoke to 16 people today, sometimes being disconnected and others keeping me for hours. I asked for the corporate office phone #, they said there is no such # for customers to call and the buck stops with the Loyalty dept. They could at least have given me the next plan up and charged me a little less. They absolutely were not allowed to do this and remember, their employees did this to me! They accept no responsibility and do not want to keep their customers! I am LIVID!!! read more

Comcast Xfinity doesn't deserve a single star. Hey Yelp give the choice and I would choose zero stars. Comcast Xfinity is Terrible. Awful. I'm a human being who would like to speak to a human being. Comcast Xfinity hides behind an automated system sifting people off without having a choice to be transferred directly to a human being but rather puts you through their own choices of automated channels. Wish there was an alternative service provider who can give a better more reliable internet service. A better customer service experience. Called Comcast yesterday for the increasing in bill payment in July 2020. First time I was told due to federal tax increase and 2nd time was told due to federal universal service fund increase. None of them are correct. They were made up by Comcast. There were no increase in federal tax and no charge in federal universal service fund in July 2020. Comcast over charge customers by the representatives cheating the customer. I believe the victim is not only me. People running the Comcast should be aware of that. I called the 800 number and I got passed around from person to person 3 times , each time they knew they could not fully help me, I know because they told me, not sure why I didn't get transferred immediately, the third guy could easily help me the other 2 could only partially, the first turned out to be part of the home security dept, I did not need her, so I'm confused why I was transferred to her ,and then the guy told me the service center to replace my device wouldn't be open for two days which was weird because he put me on hold to check and it wasn't true I went the next day. I have been a loyal Comcast customer for well over 15 years, my bill continuously goes up. I have been calling from time to time to get a better rate but when I call I was told there is no promo's available for me. Now my bill is well over $200. a month I call to get some of the services cut, I am on hold for over 20 minutes, then a customer services comes on and says after she took all my info, that she cannot help me because the computers are down. I am now looking into another service provider, this is ridiculous. This is very sad that we don't have to many other cable services to choose from. If my City offered a different provider I would have kicked them to the curb years ago! Last night the brand new equipment they sent did not work. After trying to reach a live person in their so-called "technical support" department for 30 minutes, I finally reached someone, overseas of course, they took about 90 minutes and still couldn't help. Eventually, she simply disconnected the call and never called back. Apparently she was tired of helping. I was fuming. I called back, manipulated their unfriendly phone menus and reached a supervisor that was also useless. Bottom line is I now have to take time off of work and wait for a technician to come out. Mind you - BRAND NEW EQUIPMENT. When you call their main number, their automated answering system makes it as difficult as possible, or nearly impossible, to reach a live operator. It's ridiculous. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. YOU WILL REGRET IT IMMEDIATELY. DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO USE A DIFFERENT SERVICE PROVIDER TO SAVE AGGRIVATION AND MONEY. I absolutely Hate their products and services. My home WIFI sucks, big time. It constantly disconnects despite the fact I'm in my home near the monitor / box. For weeks my cable would persistently fail. I Conducted an online chat with a customer agent several times and gave them the same information over and over again. A technician showed up at my home and made sure the cable wires were connected properly. He assured me "everything was fine". Not long after he left the same problem reoccurred. Soon thereafter, a second technician stopped by and realized the service center supplied me with the wrong cable box. If the chat technician bothered to view my account when I first contacted him several weeks earlier, he would have realized the wrong box was the source of the problem. I recently moved to Malden and had no choice but Comcast for cable, so my room-mate and I took one of their internet/phone/cable packages. We've had nothing but grief ever since. They didn't bother to hook up the TV when they installed the phone/internet, and made us pay an extra installation charge to come back and hook it up. Every month they make mistakes on the bill, and I've spent a lot of time on the phone trying to fix that. A few weeks ago on a Monday we found we had no internet service. We called, they tried some stuff over the phone, then they said they would send out a repairman. He was supposed to come Tuesday afternoon. They said we had to have an adult present, so my roommate was here to let them in, but they didn't tell us they would call first. Since she never uses the landline, she didn't answer when they called. When I got home and called them, they promised several more times to send someone out, but no one actually turned up till the next day. Then it turned out the problem was a minor software problem (the network connection had been disabled, due to an electrical storm the night before). They could have handled this over the phone, but instead we were without internet service for two days. Then they tried to charge us $25 for the repairman! Yesterday was the worst. Since my room-mate lived here before I moved in, the account is in her name, and her name shows up on caller ID. I wanted to change that so my name would show. They told me I would have to go to their local service office with t wo forms of ID. When I got there the woman absolutely insisted it was impossible to make the change, and also insisted that my name wasn't on the account, even though it had been added 3 months ago. Finally after arguing for 10 minutes I took her name and told her I would report her, so then she called someone, and made the change after another 10 minutes on the phone. BTW, she never asked for any ID--I guess anyone with 20 minutes to waste could put their name on the Caller ID. RCN, where are you when I need you??? read more

This is the most unhelpful, most frustrating and most ridiculous service ive ever had the displeasure of using. They had technicians just show up to our doorsteps without a scheduled visit and without notifying us. This was during our month wait to get the service installed and in all that we still decided it wasn't worth the hassle to find a new provider. I'm not sure if I should write this comment here or basically for the Comcast company. I moved to Malden two weeks ago. Trying to transfer my service to my new apartment for about 15 days now. The telephones are answered by automatic machines which just throws you in a loop of options and never get an answer! the online chats are the same and they dont give any specific answer. I wouldnt mind that if they were not billing me! I now have 51.27$ on my balance to pay for the internet that I didnt have past two weeks! Seriously one of the most frustrating services I dealt with. I requested an internet service for 34.99$ per month. Once I received the first bill I was charged for 49.99$ per month. I kept calling and complaining and it didnt work. right now I paid a balance of 162.22$ after spending hours of my day off on the phone with different agents from Comcast. finally one customer representative had me pay for the balance and give me a new promo (as he called it) which for that he told me that I have to pay balance of 29.99$ for my next month bill of January. so I agreed and paid that. but looking at my account right now he actually charged that 29.99$ for month of December. meaning that I still have to pay another 29.99$ for month of January! I called Comcast again and as I explained the situation the representative easily hung up on me without any explanation! I am highly unhappy with this service! They keep talking respectful at the phone and explain the benefits and charges for you but they actually charge you wrong and dishonest. very poor service! Worst service provider. They gave us rented modem which sucked from top to bottom and inspite of the speed of 50 MBPS which i registered for , i used to get just 1 mbps and even worse than that. The technician came twice and replaced with another router which was worse than the previous. Finally i had to take my own modem to get good speed. Thank god i am out of this service. read more

I live in Lynn and just switched over to Comcast from Verizon on Friday. I have had nothing but trouble ever since. I tried called the Xfinity Communications Consultant David Savickey who came to my door and solicited my business but get no place with him. I found out afterwards that he should never have gone door to door as this is against the condo rules where I live. I also have been trying customer service & get no help. Not only is my e-mail all screwed up but my remote does not work properly. I am totally frustrated & wished now that I had stayed with Verizon. I went to the Malden Service Center this morning to request a replacement remote for my existing cable box. The representative there started pushing their newer XFinity X1 service, and repeatedly represented to me that there would be no changes to my billing if I accepted the new service. I asked him 3 separate times to confirm there would be no additional charges. A few hours later, I received an email from Comcast confirming the change in service, and stating that my bill would increase by $22 per month. As a result of his unfair and deceptive actions, I now either have to wait a week and then sit around for a 2 hour service window for someone to come pick up the equipment, or I have to drive back over to Malden to return the equipment I never wanted and get the remote I wanted in the first place. read more

If there was a rating of no stars I would choose it for Comcast. After 6 months of trying to get my home phone number switched over from another provider at least 3 times, they still could not get my service working. Multiple times I called and they said it was switched when it wasn't. All this time they are charging for a service they were not providing. Finally, I am told that if I want to get my home phone number back, to go back to the old provider!! Seriously! So I took that advice and switched back to my old provider. Before I paid my outstanding bill I got a person on the phone who said I would get a credit for the months of service I did not get. Then to my surprise I start getting calls from a credit collection agency. No one told me they did not approve the credit, they just sent it to collection. After speaking to an unhelpful "service" person, they told me I had to pay the bill and there was no one else I could talk to. Don't ever sign up for Comcast unless you want problems!
