On short noticed I contacted Columbia River Moving. They responded to me almost immediately. I received a quote by message & then followed up by phone. They were extremely professional. I provided them the address of where I needed a leather sectional picked up and where it needed to be delivered. They did not require a minimum of three hours which was wonderful for me because the distance between my two locations was less than 10 miles & I only had the sectional to be moved. Not only did they deliver the sectional, but they set it up where I wanted it and locked all the pieces together for me. Let me start this off by saying I absolutely hate moving! It's the worst possible torture I can think of, so I can't imagine dragging friends and family into it. So, this time around, I decided to try a moving company, and OH MY, IT WAS HANDS DOWN THE BEST INVESTMENT I'VE EVER MADE! To start, I researched a variety of different companies and services, and decided to just send out a mass message to my top 4 on a Sunday afternoon. To my surprise, Erin from Columbia River Moving contacted me within a minute or two. It seriously might have been less than a minute, I was shocked. I was stressing out since I planned to move the following weekend, so it was extremely short notice for this sort of thing. Thankfully, Erin assured me I was on the schedule and everything was good to go! Wow, one less thing for me to worry about. A full day went by before I heard anything from the other 3 moving companies. Kudos again to Erin for being so responsive. I won't name names, but one of those 3 other moving companies reached out to me a day AFTER I moved. Are you kidding? I laughed... I set my move for 9 am to load the truck, and they arrived 15 minutes early. Again, kudos for Columbia River Moving being responsive AND punctual, especially when I had reserved a loading dock at my new place for a specific time slot. These guys worked hard for exactly 4 hours. Not only were they fast and efficient, but they were more careful with my stuff than I was. Clearly they are not amateurs. You would think if you're paying someone hourly, they wouldn't work as hard...but that is not the case. FAR FROM IT! These guys didn't take 1 break...seriously, I felt bad. I offered them water and wanted them to rest. They just kept on going! Oh, did I mention the price includes a truck? AWESOME! I mean, I could of rented a truck, but why? Just one more thing I would of had to do and worry about. These guys are worth every penny and more. If you're hesitant about the lack of yelp reviews, I completely understand. I was too. These guys were awesome! I did a lot of research and am so glad I went with Columbia River Moving. I did a lot of preparation for them and had everything boxed, rugs rolled, bed stripped, art and small cabinets wrapped, because I really was hoping to stay at or under the 2hr minimum. What a great experience!! Manny quoted me exactly what I was charged, they showed up exactly on time, and they were absolutely professional, courteous, and accommodating. They wrapped each piece of the sectional sofa so perfectly and were cautious to not run into any walls while navigating up the stairs and in the tight space they were working in. I called on Monday and was able to schedule moving the next day. I went with this company based on the stellar reviews and was not disappointed. Manuel was punctual, courteous, hardworking and personable. Erin was empathetic with my moving stress over the phone and easily changed my move time to an hour earlier when requested. The stairway in my new place has a difficult turn to fit larger items through. Manuel and his assistant had professional gear (furniture pads, hand trucks) and worked quickly and carefully. I don't really review much anymore, and I've taken a couple of weeks to decide if I really wanted to write this. I was so disappointed and angered by my move. Columbia showed up with a small truck for my crosstown move, which isn't so bad, except they made two trips and on the second trip left behind a dining hutch and my treadmill. These are the two items I said were most important to me to move. Now, you might think that I have a ton of stuff: it's true I'm not a minimalist. However, I moved with much more stuff one year earlier and it cost me $400 less, those movers were done two hours earlier, and those guys were professional and worked quickly. I felt so embarrassed and stupid for paying so much for such s***** service. My rugs were in a pile wanted up on the floor, all of the small pieces that hold up shelves were scattered between two houses, and I still had ended up having to rent a U-Haul and bribe a friend and move my own GD hutch and treadmill. If you want the name of my old movers just let me know, I will be using them from now on. read more

We are trying to re organize furniture and needed to move a sofa bed from one floor to the 2nd up stairs that turned into a narrow hall and into a back room I contacted 5 movers- prices ranged from $99 to over $250. I called Columbia River Moving and storage - spoke with Erin and got a $99 price and scheduled the move the next day. Mike and Manny came early and took care of our needs so professionally and so caring. It was worth the money even though it took about 15 minutes. Waste of time. The came over with this little truck and said they were just going to make more trips. They had a 2 hour minimum close to $500 and then close to $175 an hour after that. Sitting in traffic at $175.00 an hour! I dont think so!. Accused me of trying to take advantage of them. They have a 26 ft truck but didn't bring it. Hey you ever hear of under promise but over deliver?. Not these guys. Cancelled them and got someone else same day. They said I was the one who said it would fit in a 17 ft. Truck. Very bad experience! Movers were not that careful, broke my big wall mirror (it is not available to purchase now), damaged paint of my new home in couple of places, left broken glass piece on my carpet. Offered me ONLY $50. Cashier/manager told me whatever it is, if there is no insurance, they would only pay you $0.67/ lb. That means carelessness is valid if you don't have insurance. They don't have booties, made my floor filthy. I would not recommend them if you want to save your valuable items. read more

There was a large armoire that my wife wanted to get. I called around and got the best price from Columbia River Moving. I worked out a time that would work for them and me to be there to get the armoire. Manny, the owner of the company, arrived a few minutes early and was ready with his truck and his assistant, Joseph. The armoire was huge and very heavy. It was so big that it could't be moved in one piece, and it wouldn't fit through the openings in the house. They took the time to see what could be done, and they they disassembled the armoire so that they could move it into the truck. They didn't grumble, but were very professional, despite the difficulty of the move. When they arrived at my house, I was in a hurry because I had an Internet meeting that I needed to get ready for, and I gave them instructions for where I wanted to the armoire and how I wanted them to assemble it. They took care of everything just as I asked. They were polite, friendly, very professional, prompt, and the best price around!
