I inquired with this company for moving services through Yelp. They responded to my inquiry in about 24 hours. I found their quote to be very reasonable, so proceeded to attempt to book their services. I tried contacting them multiple times. I even clicked the confirm appointment button that was sent to me though messages. I was never contacted back. I found it super frustrating that they would allow a customer to get away because they are too busy or do not care to respond to contacts. Their prices are very reasonable, but the lack of customer services makes me wonder how they would be on the day of moving. Would they even bother to show up? Communication is definitely lacking here. I ended up going with another company, Oregon Trail Movers. They were very responsive and made sure to call me back right away after I left a message. Their prices are very reasonable as well and customer service is spot on. At least I know they will show up on the day of! I do not have to wonder. read more

Very hard working crew. They stuck with us until the job was done. We had s complicated move from two locations to one.

Our movers were great to work with. However at the very last hour they misused screws and swapped screws that were meant for a dining room table and used them for a master bedroom which ultimately damaged the furniture. They told us that this was their 2nd job for the day and they appear to be over scheduled in general. They left that evening not finishing the job. We were left with two pieces of furniture - bed and dining room table both very heavy (which is why we hired professional movers) that were not put together. We had to purchase a different set of screws all together, take apart a bed frame and put it back together with new screws, and then put together a dining room table. And when I called Bill, he offered to pay for screws but didn't have any explanation, concern or apology to offer. The fact that he didn't seem to care - versus explaining that there should be a process that exists so customers aren't left with an unfinished job, shows that there is no interest in ensuring this doesn't happen again. The movers themselves were great to work with and this could have easily been resolved - mistakes happen. I had an entirely different review planned for this, until I called the owner to follow up. I was hoping for a better resolution but his lack of customer service changed that. No repeat or referral business from me. I made a time they didn't show or call 5 minutes before at or after. I called, sent a message to the guy I spoke to on Yelp didn't hear anything. Called 3 times got the voicemail. After an hour and a half I decided I better get a uhaul because I need to move now and I can't wait so I got a uhaul online it was easier than I expected and as I was on my way to pick it up I got a text saying the ETA would be within 30 minutes. I texted back no thanks no one called me when I should have been called so I got a uhaul and am doing it myself. Then i get 4 or 5 texts acting confused. I clearly said why and instead of apologizing they said I wrote down the wrong time. I looked at my emailed time and it clearly said the time I wanted I forwarded it to them and said sorry I have work and I needed this done when I asked. Then the guy calls and says I had an allergic reaction and that is why he is running late. So tell someone! Make them call me have them explain it so I can decide whether I want to wait or cancel. I said nope sorry I have a uhaul. Oh by the way if yer hesitant to use uhaul because you need people to help they have a number where you can call and order movers and they arrive in 30 minutes and were great. I spent $250 total tip included. I had a two bedroom apartment and the gents were great. So go uhaul! read more

Three young man came and moved my two bedroom apartment from Tigard to Beaverton in about 3 hours. They were Swift, polite, and very professional. The next time I have to move, I will be calling these guys again. They made sure they wrapped my important stuff with towels and plastic wrap. They didn't break anything. I did have everything packed in boxes before they got there to help make the move as Swift as possible. Packing is something I do suggest, even though they do help with packing if needed, but we didn't need it. I honestly can't think of anything that they did wrong. Thanks fellas. read more

Metro moving has now moved my mom's things to her care facility, and my dad's things in and out of his apartment and assisted living. When you first call you leave Bill a message. He calls back pretty quickly. He schedules without asking many questions and they don't come out to look at your stuff either. They packed my dad's belongings up and moved them one time and it was fine. I think we have had Curtis as one of the two movers all three times. He was awesome. Careful, strong, respectful, efficient. Everything you want in a mover. He said he has worked for Bill on and off for a decade. I've had multiple stops on two of the moves to add or subtract stuff and that was fine. It helps to write stuff down, have everything planned, and be all packed to go. This time they disassembled and reassembled a bed for us and I felt bad because it was annoying but Curtis was super about it. Just got it done. Which is how it is supposed to be. BTW movers in Oregon all charge the same by law. So there's no cheap movers. They're the same price. Really. Get good ones. And tip them. read more

I've used Metro Moving three times to move within the Portland area. Two out of the three times I would give a 5 Star Review, and I will be using them for my next move, whenever that might be. I've had a different crew every time, but the movers have always been courteous and timely. They move quickly and efficiently and wrap things in moving blankets and plastic wrap to protect your things and keep drawers and moving parts in place. Response time when I call Bill to set up the move is always very quick and professional. As with any movers, communication is key. I was quoted $1795 for a 48 mile move. On viewing and photographing every room in house they added $374 to quote because I had to many cubic feet. Of boxes. Only on driver spoke much english the other spoke none. The dispatcher said they would arrive between 9-11 the showed up at 4 o'clock. The charged me an additional $1000 to pick up my stuff. I requested my stuff be delivered on the 29th of June. They did not show. I called they said it would be maybe the 2nd of July but they finally showed on the 3rd. This time again only one guy spoke english. I kept telling them what came in house and what went to a side laundry room they ignored me and shoved everything into laundry room which I now have to hire someone to move into house. I am 72 and not able to move this stuff. As I open boxes much of my china and glass ware is broken. The dropped my freezer off Dolly and my dresser fell off truck and was scratched up! They charged me another $2000 to have my stuff delivered so 5k for 48 miles! Don't use the people CROOKS!!! read more

I had a good experience with Metro Moving. We hired them to move us from a house into an apartment. Two guys came out, and they took a really long time. They didn't break anything or damage a thing, which I was really impressed by! They were really nice, but a little older. I spoke with the owner after this experience, and he agreed that it took longer than it should have. After our conversation he said that he would not pair this team up anymore to avoid delays in the future. I really appreciated the owner's reasonableness, and the care the employees showed to our belongings, even if they took a long time. I do recommend this company. read more

I heard them decide to transport some of our picture boxes differently because they determined (correctly) we hadn't packed them right. We used Metro Moving to move our stored belongings to a garage at our apartment complex. We've always relied on family and friends to help move, but that wasn't going to happen, so we needed help. Metro was the best choice in terms of availability and cost, so on a Wednesday we scheduled them for a Saturday move. Three guys and a truck showed up, and with a little input from us they got everything onto the truck and got it all moved within 3 1/2 hours. We were so happy to get our stuff from 20 miles away to our complex. The guys worked hard and did a great job getting everything moved, and in a way that we can access it all fairly easily.
