We needed to be moved out of our apartment in Portland and into a storage unit for the first go around, and then once again from that storage unit into our new condo. . Both experiences were amazing, and smooth. The first go around we had Brandon and I believe Violet. The second time, we had Brandon again and Micah. They were punctual, speedy, careful, fast, and super accomodating. I really appreciated their warm personalities, and consideration for everything. The communication from the office tream was equally well managed! As you can see, I normally leave positive reviews if I am impressed, and almost never any negative comment if I am disappointed. However, I feel compelled to write a negative one for this company. I got an in-person estimate from this company, which was $1295.72. I got multiple estimates, but no other company could beat this. So I hired them. We packed more than 90% of the things by ourselves. I attached photos taken at the time of home inspection performed 5 weeks prior to the move. See garage packed with boxes and living space with very few items left. Remember this is 5 weeks prior to the move. We kept putting things in storage spaces into garage. Also, since the new house is just a street away, we kept moving things by ourselves after the close date. By the time the mover arrived, there were few things left that needed to be packed. On the day of the move, they called me asking if they needed to bring anything. I asked them to bring several boxes for unpacked items. They ended up using only 5 boxes as Bill of Landing shows. Both my wife and I helped them. My wife packed almost all kitchen items since they required special care. I moved electronics (PCs, TVs, printers, etc) by myself without packing. After everything was done, they tried to charge me over $4000, but after taking a look at my puzzled face, a lead man spoke with the management, it came down to $2574.60. However, this was still twice as much as the estimate. He did not give me any warning that the final charge would be significantly higher than the estimate. I posted my initial review, and Robert called me the next day, and he said in an accusatory voice that the price went up because everything was not packed and they needed extra time packing. Give me a break! The average packing specialist costs $60 per hour. So, $1279 ($2574.60 minus $1295.72) is equivalent to 21 hours of packing. The fact is, the estimator underestimated the amount of items we had and the time it took to load/ unload them. We had two large bookcases (143" wide, and 110" wide) that needed to be separated and joined. As a result, they needed to run the truck twice. A website entitled "The Top 10 Moving Scams" says, "An 'estimator' who does a quick walk-through of your home without opening cabinets and taking note of exactly what you plan to move is going to be way off the mark." Also, in the process of moving, they broke several items, one of which was missing a part. I brought it to the lead man's attention at the end of the move. All he said was, "I will look for the missing part in our truck, and get back to you," but he never did. He did not mention anything about filing a claim. These items were not expensive, and I was not necessarily asking for compensation. All I was hoping was honest disclosure (whoever broke it should know) and prompt follow-up (the lead man did not contact me, unsure whether he even tried to find the missing part). If I had simply called them to file a claim, I am sure they would have accused me of not telling the crew on the spot, and made the filing process almost impossible. On the other hand, if a customer brings it to the crew's attention on the spot like I did, they will say,"OK, let us check, and we will get back to you," and they don't. Either way, they dodge customer's filing. After seeing my review, they called me immediately and turned their fault into mine saying, "you did not pack everything! You could have filed a claim for damaged items. It is clearly written in the contract!" I am taking this case to Small Claims Court. read more

I utilized their services last year. I inquired specifically about their ability to relocate exercise equipment such as a treadmill and bike, to which they confirmed. The treadmill was disassembled and reassembled by the team of three individuals who could not put it back together, and I still have wires hanging outside the treadmill, which took most of their time for which I was charged per hour. Despite having only a few items to move, they requested a gratuity in addition to their nearly $1000 fee. It is essential to compensate your staff appropriately, as it is unreasonable for me to pay such a high amount for just two hours worth of work. The move should have only taken 1.5 hours but they liked to hang out in the truck talking to waste time. So I decided to help out to speed things up. So going over the 2 hour mark by 35 minutes they charged me and extra $365.00 dollar. Plus they destroyed my vintage nightstand by stacking boxes on it a refused to reimburse me for the damages. I even gave one of the guys a couple of bottles of expensive liquor. Lesson learned is all I have to say. read more

We requested unloading assistance from You Move Me. They arrived on time and worked hard. We requested that the team wear masks inside at all times. I'm immunocompromised and the team was not fully vaccinated. They wore them for 10 minutes, then discarded once I started working on other tasks. The one star review is due to the moving team unwrapping the moving blanks on my couch to maneuver off the truck, then not putting them back on to get into the house. If they kept the blankets on, or at least used them in the to get through the door frames, I'd have a nice couch. The foreman stated that the company has an in-house repair person and that they could send that person out. They said it directly in front of my Ring camera. This was a lie, all lies. From the tablet being unable to scroll ("let me do that for you"), to having insurance to fix the couch. I'm getting $0.60/lb. for a $1500 couch less than 6 months old. The company was very short with me when I requested someone weigh it for the damage. They asked me to do it, but I can't. I'm disabled, I have no functional grip strength in my hands. The unloaders were cool with me not being able to help. The person that called seemed more concerned with their bottom line. There is no excuse for removing protective padding to get an item off the truck and not replacing it to transport inside. read more

They sent email reminder before moving day and phone call. The 3 movers provided an amazing service, were very organize and loaded all our belonging neatly. Disclaimer: I did NOT use this company for a move. This review is based on a frustrating interaction with one of their crews. I'd stopped for gas outside of Ridgefield WA, when this truck pulled up and blocked me out of my car. I asked them to please move so that I could get back in my car - I was the only car at any of the islands when they stopped. The driver gets out and says "It's your fault - you parked too far from your pump," and proceeded to start pumping his gas. He only moved after I called the 800 number on the back of his truck and complained to his dispatcher. Just a real jerk all the way around. I hope this grotesque lack of professionalism isn't representative of the company. Remember that day in Portland when it was so hot that your face melted off and you basically laid on the sofa hoping to survive one of Portland's hottest days ever? That's the day we were scheduled to move. When we started hearing reports of how hot it was going to be, we called the company a few days in advance of the move to make sure that they were going to send a crew out in that kind of heat because, you know, it was so stupidly hot that we'd have totally understood if they rescheduled us...even though we had a deadline to move out that day. They asked us if they could start 3 hours earlier than scheduled to try to avoid the hottest part of the day. We said "yes" but that we might not be done packing with the earlier start time. Well, we weren't done packing when they came and they were SO amazing!! They moved everything we had ready into the truck and then used the breaks to hydrate while we packed up more boxes. Colin and Violet were definitely feeling the heat of the day but never complained. They had wonderful attitudes throughout! Rob (an owner) showed up at the new house with gatorade for his crew and helped make the unloading even faster. They broke the curved glass in my display cabinet. That cost me more than the entire move. They also took pictures of the glass but offered nothing - no even an apology. I told they several times about the cabinets before and during the move. They also almost dropped the armoire trying to get it up the stairs and this is not the first time I have moved that piece. They also tried to get me to give them a good review even after I called and told they about the issues. I have now discovered that they broke the leg on my sofa. Do not used these movers. These guys are pretty good and while we have no plans to move again I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Kyle, Matt, and Gage were professional and respectful. Showed up on time and got right to work. Felt like they took good care of our household goods and amazed us how they were able to get furniture around and through tight corners. Company overall was very professional and communicated well throughout the entire process. Also provided a pretty accurate quote. There was some minor damage to a wall and a door jamb in the new home and they came out and made repairs two days later. read more

This is my first time using a moving company and I was very impressed with the service! I filled out an estimate form and was surprised to get a phone call within 10 minutes! They called 2 days before to confirm, and also showed up right on time. The total time from packing up to delivery was around 2 hours and Gage and Dan were nothing but professional and pleasant. Let me start off by saying I have hired many moving companies in my life so I have much experience to draw from. This was, by far, the WORST move I have ever experienced. I say this for the following reasons: 1. The two movers were SLOW. They were more interested in talking with one another how tired they were, how heavy things were and striking up extended conversations with either my wife or myself. 2. I had 2 beds (box springs only with headboards and 1 footboard), 3 dressers, 2 pieces of nursery furniture, perhaps 15 boxes and some loose misc stuff including 2 TVs. NO appliances, sofa, loveseats. With this little stuff, the move took 5.5 hours. 3. These two movers damaged our bedroom footboard, house walls and stair railings. We are awaiting repair of these items. The customer service with these folks is horrendous. If you are planning a move, bypass this company! read more

Wow! I've used this company for 2 different moves and on a 3rd move I used a different company and have learned my lesson! This company has ruined me for any other moving company as their standard is so high in comparison to others. I had the pleasure of engaging You Move Me to get me moved smack in the middle of COVID. I was nervous that they might have to close their doors and I would be stuck. They not only stayed open, they accommodated my request to move a few days earlier just so we could all breathe easier. My movers, Dan, Tanner and Eugene were wonderful. They were super fast, very friendly and very efficient. Everything transitioned scratch-free and much faster than expected. They were careful to wash hands and wipe down surfaces observing all necessary CDC guidelines. I highly recommend the company and send heart-felt thanks to "my guys." These guys were great. We booked them pretty last minute (less than a week prior to our move) and they were able to accommodate our needs. We agreed on 2 guys for 2-3 hours, but the boss came with them, so we ended up with 3 guys(for the price of 2). They were quick and very friendly, and arrived a little early. Positive: They were on time and kept in touch. The were hard workers and they worked well together. They brought runners and door pads to help out from scratching things up. Negative: They got to our house and was backing up a 26 foot truck with no one outside to help guide and hit our tree. They seemed to be in a hurry and we constantly had to tell them to slow down. We were afraid they were going to drop something or hit something. To the point we just told them to put everything in the garage. I even had to tell one to get help to carry something in because I was afraid he was going to drop it. I felt on the edge with these guys. read more

I have never dealt with a moving company before so I don't have anything to compare my experience too. When I received my bid, it came from a guy named Robert -- who identified himself as the franchise owner. Between the bid time and the actual move date, I left him a couple messages and never once heard back from him. I also was a bit bothered, I got no reminders or calls as to our move time. I had to go back through my email to find it and eventually did. The movers themselves were a half hour late showing up. Then they showed up with a truck no bigger than what I can get myself from Penske. After some deliberation and a walk-through, it was determined I would need 2 trips and thus my costs would go up quite significantly from my original estimate. I told them to go get the bigger truck (which as it turns out was available to them the whole time) but it set back our move out time 1.5 hours. That action in and of itself means that I can't in good faith refer these guys to any colleague or friend. The 3 guys overall worked very hard. It was a hot day and they moved along quite quickly. They also made some physical modifications to my old and new home to get everything out in a timely fashion. The only thing I found to be a little unprofessional is that when they arrived at my new home they jumped out of the truck with cigs. I get it -- this is blue collar labor but for them just to assume that I'd be ok with them smoking all over my driveway fairly close to my front door seemed a bit presumptuous on their part. Shopped around for some movers in the Vancouver, La Center area as my husband and I were driving in a 26' truck from Cali that needed to be unloaded in our new home. I found You Move Me on Yelp and along with great reviews and their Yelp Deal - I was sold! Correspondence leading up to the move was amazing. Courteous and professional, really made me feel comfortable and confident. They even offered to bring us coffee! The guys came on time (even wanted to come a little earlier which would have been great but I had a house cleaner simultaneously cleaning). They introduced themselves (Tim 1 & Tim 2 or Big Tim and Little Tim). After a quick tour of the house and an explanation of each room, they unloaded the truck carefully and placed everything where it belonged. They even showed me a few things that happened during the move that I was able to fix before they fully broke! Whew! My niece and nephew (5 & 8) wanted to help unload and the guys were awesome in not getting frustrated or irritated they were in their way. My husband and I even hoped up on the truck to help them unload and it went super fast! Everything was off the truck and in the house (in the correct rooms!) within 2 hours. We even had a little extra time left over and they helped us unwrap the furniture and place it for us. I was really impressed nothing broke during our move and I can attribute half of that to You Move Me Vancouver. Definitely recommend and use them again for our next move. read more

Let me clarify the rating, the local team of movers; Tim, Isaiah, and Kyle, were fantastic and I would give them 5+ stars if my experience were only dealing with them. They called right at 7:30, arrived a little before 8. They were professional, thorough, and regularly checked with me about what was going on the truck or where things went. They were very fast, done within the 2 hour minimum. These guys were really fabulous. Unfortunately, a part of my experience was the corporate call center, and for that portion of the experience I almost went elsewhere. My call went something like this: Matt: "there's a 2 hour minimum on weekdays, and a 4 hour minimum on weekends; it's Washington law." (Side note: Having lived in WA for many years I have never heard such a law) Matt: "So when are you looking to move?" Me: "Monday the 10th." Matt: "oh it looks like we're booked that day, can you do Sunday?" Me: "Not if there's a 4 hour minimum." Matt: "Hold please.... Good news! There's a loophole if we're booked on the day you want we can reduce it it to 2 hour minimum." I almost hung up the phone right there for the blatant lies to try and charge more; nothing irks me more than greedy companies who try and get more money than they're due and are totally willing to lie to do so. If that's the company's policy to have a 4 hour minimum, that's absolutely within your right, but own that, don't try and pawn it off on a law that doesn't exist. The estimation software is absurdly high, they quoted 6 hours and I laughed. I explained last time I moved it was less than 3 hours, 40 minutes in traffic even; and sure enough they were done in 2. Don't worry though, you only pay for the actual time spent and better to over bid than under. I chose to go ahead with the booking despite these things because of the great reviews of the local crews and because of the Yelp deal. And overall I'm glad that I did and would use them again. Moving sucks. But dealing with You Move Me made it wayyyy less sucky. The customer service team was friendly and responsive. What they quoted was indeed what it cost and what they said would be included was. My movers came right on time today. Their names were Tim, Tim, and Cory. They were super efficient, respectful, helpful, and all-around great to work with. I had told them I really needed to adhere to the minimum time (2 hours), and to just take the big stuff and if there was anything left I would just take it myself. But they were so quick and professional that they had plenty of time to move ALL my stuff. Start to finish, I was done in an hour and a half! This company is fantastic! I originally contracted with another company to help load a U-Pac truck. They flaked on me so I called You Move Me in a panic. Dan said that they could do the job in about 2 hours from the time I called with 3 guys instead of the regular 2, instead he showed up an hour later and said he needed 2 more to make it go faster. I just called to ask for a quote. 3 bedroom house 1700 sq ft. we are moving in town (less than 5 miles away). I was originally just asking for moving labor, but said i would also be interested in a quote that included the truck. The lady who took my call was very polite and professional. We went through everything in my house (really we don't have much furniture) and she gave me a quote for $1300. I was floored to say the least. I explained that figure was SHOCKING and that i had gotten a quote from another company earlier in the week for $400 and that was what i was expecting. She asked if the company i had gotten the quote from was licensed and bonded and when i said yes, she got a little testy and immediately dropped her quote to $408. She kept saying it was an estimate. The entire experience was disappointing. Even if they could match the price point I was looking for, the fact that she threw out a ginormous figure at first (probably hoping i would bite) seemed really dishonest. I think i'm going back to the company that gave me the first quote. Obviously, since i had originally called about just moving labor and renting a uhaul myself, price was a significant issue and the employee should have been trained a bit better. I get that it's all based on time, but the huge figure right off the bat was very scary and caused me to just walk away. read more

We weren't moving but needed to put our belongings in storage for a remodel and then move them back in when the remodel was complete. The corporate team scheduled us and the local team showed up right on time and finished early. We had a minor complication due to a big, heavy piece of furniture that needed to be moved out through fairly small door. That was the most complex portion of the move - both in and out. These guys moved me from Vancouver to Skagit County 200 plus miles. Understandably out of their normal range. I had a very old china cabinet that I gave them specific instructions to be extremely careful with. Long story short, the glass shelves(2) were broken due to poor packing and lack of attention to detail. The guy who packed it I think was not a regular employee???? That glass is so old no one makes it anymore. They paid for replacement glass without problems but I don't have matching glass. Also, some Beatles artwork which was placed in my garage at my request was not set on cardboard or something soft just on concrete so the frames were damaged. Nothing I can do about that. The guy who was in charge of my packing was pretty straight shooting, however his two comrades I think leave some to be desired. Also, there were logistical problems at the end of the move which was my fault, not theirs, I was paying $97 an hour for them to be there for some extra time. I just assumed that was factored into the price of the move but I was wrong about that. I'm sure local moves they are great, but in my opinion long distance maybe is not their expertise. To be fair I don't know if that even makes a difference. As I said before to their credit the glass shelves were paid for without any argument and reimbursement was within one day, kudos for that. Also, I thought the fee for moving was quite steep, $4000. If I had to do it all over again, although they were very friendly I would not use them. read more
