****WARNING KEEP A DETAILED LOG OF YOIR THINGS, SEVERAL THINGS DISAPPEARED DURING MY MOVE****one of the boxes with all of my kitchen pans is missing. This cost me hundreds of dollars to replace. More recently I realized I am missing 2 sections of glass and wood antique lawyer cabinets with the base and top. These are worth about $1500. I had 11 sections of these with 3 bases and 3 tops. It took me sometime to realize some of these were missing. The crew that moved me took over an hour to get from one house to the next, It should have taken about 20 minutes. they told me they stopped for lunch and I believed them. Not sure what was happening in that 1hour + since this was the only time I was not with them or my things. So sad and disappointing to have items disappear in a move. I obviously would never hire them again, I wouldn't feel confident that my things would all arrive to their destination. read more

Terrible Moving Company! They damaged my mattress which was only six months old (and wasn't even covered for moving), and dented the front of my washer. Their rep. told me they would give me $60.00 for the mattress and that they were not responsible for any damage to appliances.(the contract states nothing about that) When I told him the mattress was new he said it was 6 months old and the damage does not affect the comfort of the mattress. Your better off doing it yourself! Even if you somehow can choose actual value coverage the most you can recover for any damage is $500.00. We booked this company because they were literally right next to our condo. When I originally booked them it was for a total move but I decided to pack everything and I moved all the boxes and small stuff myself in a Uhaul. So when it came time to move they only had to move my furniture and heavy items. We had a king bed, not heavy at all. A full size bed again not heavy. We had a small kitchen table again not heavy. We had two sofas not very heavy. Washer and dryer Definitely heaviest thing we had. Two light weight desks. A coffee table and two end tables and a very small freezer not heavy at all. We were moving from Westfield to Noblesville area. I contacted them about 4 days prior and requested a 3rd guy who could do the lighter stuff and take down and assemble our bed. The bed came from Wayfair and I put it together myself rather quickly and I'm not very handy. So they had the one guy work on the bed for over an hour before he declared he wasn't very handy and the other guy replaced him. They had a new guy with them who had only been there for three days he said and he worked the hardest of all three. So pretty much the two guys worked at a good pace while the third pretty much did as little as possible. When they got to my place they were to put my bed back together. That night we went to lay on the bed and it collapsed and broke many of the pieces it was then we discovered they only put less than half the bolts and screws back in the bed. When I booked them I asked if they took care of my washer and dryer and they said absolutely but when the guys got there they said they aren't allowed to do any of the disconnection or reconnection. SMH! Pretty sure all this is basic moving 101! It took them forever to get to our new place which was frustrating. We did move to a two story but the only things they brought upstairs were the two beds and two desks and our washer and dryer. They tried to charge me $100 for our washer and dryer and when I read the contract and it said large appliances like refrigerators were extra I called and they told me there was no extra charge for moving the washer and dryer because if there had been we would have booked someone else. So the guy couldn't reach anyone at the office so he took off the extra $100. Even with removing that extra charge they still charged us $1160 and we tipped the 3 men $53 each. read more

We furnished our finished basement as a media/exercise room several years ago when we moved in without ever thinking about how we'd get everything out. Couch, recliner, treadmill, weights, surround sound the whole nine yards. It was great but now we're moving and had to find someone to get it all out of there so we could have a Garage Sale. The guys were nice and careful but slow. They seemed somewhat inexperienced. We had a bed, dresser, recliner, small sofa, 6 boxes, and vanity. It took them 3 hours. We had to pay for an extra hour that was originally quoted. Price went from $365 to $502. I had used a competitor for a different move last year and the difference in speed was astounding. The competitor moved a entire house in 8 hours and this was a single room in 3 hours. read more

After searching and calling and calling and searching for someone that could help me in a moving pinch, Colt moving a crew really came through. First I needed movers and not the truck because I had to get my stuff out of the sold house and couldn't put the stuff into the bought house the same day. Other movers wanted to charge me a crazy amount to store it for a day. Colt Moving was happy to oblige and for a mileage and a reasonable price. I remember thinking it would be the same if I got 3 friend from work and got pizza and beer. And they aren't pros. Then wild I was playing golf in Georgia I got a call from Colt, in which I was going to call when I was finish, and I answered because I needed to straighten up something. Both managers I spoke with over the phone were informed and communicated with each other immediately. The realtor informed me with no time that the previous owner would be out of the house and I could do it the same day, so I asked Colt moving if they could scratch the whole plan and do it all one 1 day, a day earlier, and now I DO need a truck. The guys they sent were ready to work and in a great mood. Worked hard and never slowed down. It took much longer(like 4 hours) and they worked the whole time. The only reason it is 4 stars and not 5 was they were pretty late, but they communicated that, and the payment process was called in and not just a swipe of the card. Excellent service. On September 9, Ian and Trey from Colt Moving loaded, packed, and transported our household goods from Carmel to Avon. They worked super hard for 9 hours that day making two trips. They handled every item with expert care, and put all our furniture back together just like we wanted it in our new residence, without a single scratch or ding. We have nothing but praise for these very capable, responsive, and honest professional movers. And, there were no surprises when we settled up at day's end. WORST movers ever. Extremely expensive and no quality of work. Sent two guys only who were taking their sweet time to build hours and kept pushing us to add a third person. We reluctantly added a third person hoping they'd move faster. They took all day and didn't even get majority of our stuff moved. Damaged our new bedroom suite and offered only $60 as compensation for wrecking and breaking it. What a joke ! Sent the manager Bobbie Bruce a bunch of pictures showing all the damages and they still didn't take any responsibility. Definitely very pricey and not worth hiring. Ended up paying a lot more than other movers that we've used in the past. They charged half of what we paid Colt moving and got the job done completely and properly without breaking or damaging our stuff. Passed on the word to our neighbors to not use them and would not recommend them to anyone. People, save your time and money by not hiring Colt movers for your move. read more

We received a call at the scheduled arrival time that the driver had called in with covid and so they had to find another drive. Then got moved 4 hours later than moving scheduled time. When movers arrived they were very nice guys and worked hard. But, they packed the truck terribly and didn't take my husband's recommendation, so they ended up not getting everything in the truck in one load and had to come back...increasing the hours and pay. When the team left with the first truckload, their truck broke down. They then had to wait for another truck to come and transfer items from one truck to the other. Lastly, due to a lack of packing the truck well, as well as not caring about proper care of furniture, multiple items were destroyed in the move...our entertainment center was completely jacked up and falling apart...our king-sized mattress was folded in half to walk it up the stairs - breaking inside springs. I was quoted around 3-4 hours for the move. In the end, it was a 9.5 hour day. Just not a great experience and caused additional stress in an already stressfull situation. read more

This time Sean and Bill moved all the furniture out of our basement great room, bedroom and a separate living room when we put in new carpet and painted. These were very heavy items (marble top dressers, 80" buffet, antique cabinets, etc.) Everything was handled carefully and then later put back perfectly. Just as our two young men movers were about to start loading there was a fire down the hall from our apartment. Everyone had to evacuate and there was no way to gauge how long before we could get back in (firefighters did get it under control fairly quickly). Nathan said to me were resetting the clock so you want be charge or this unforeseen issue. Finally, Trevor from Colt headquarters sent them to another job and fir me to call when we could get back in. I did and he sent a different team within an hour of my calling him. They were terrific guys, handled everything professionally and efficiently and finished the job in about three hours, far lest than Colt estimated. Since Colt charged by the time my bill was at least $200 less than expected. Great company, great guys doing the moving. HIGHLY recommend using Colt! read more

We moved to Indy from out of state and hired Colt Moving to unload our truck once we arrived. We had a start time that didn't fit within their usual time frames but they were very helpful and accommodating. The guys called to let us know they were on their way and showed up right on time.
