Then I called was informed that the movers were there waiting for 45 minutes and that I was responsible for paying for that time they waited because someone wrote my phone number incorrectly. When I called, Ann said "normal people" would be where they are supposed to be. They decided to have three movers and NEVER informed me. They moved the same stuff from my old house to the storage with 2 movers. Costing me $77 more per hour more than anticipated. I didn't authorize an additional mover. We hired Soft Touch Moving in June 2025 to pack, move, and store our belongings in their…read more"climate-controlled" facility for four months while our new home was being built. About 4 hours into the re-delivery of our belongings by their crew, we discovered that much of our furniture and personal property which had already brought into our new home appeared to be covered in mold. The contamination affected our brand-new home and required professional remediation. As a result, we were displaced and forced to live in a hotel for 50 nights while the issue was addressed. The owner, John Craft, acknowledged to us that our belongings had gotten wet and remained on their moving trucks for a period of time during the hot and humid month of June. Despite assurances from the company's insurance carrier, we have received very little communication or resolution. More than seven months later, we still do not have our belongings and have had to retain legal counsel to pursue claims against both Soft Touch Moving and the insurance company. This experience has been incredibly disruptive to our lives. Based on our experience, we would strongly caution others before trusting this company with their belongings.

Jacob was quick to respond, answered my questions and confirmed the date and time I needed. They confirmed the date and time the day before the move and on the morning of as well. Jacob and Sean arrived on time. They came in and assessed the headboard and proceeded to thoroughly wrap up the headboard in furniture protective pads. After they ensured the headboard was fully protected, they proceeded to move the headboard out my house and to their enclosed trailer. They arrived to the destination timely and moved the headboard up a flight of stairs to a second level apartment. They carefully unwrapped the headboard after we decided on the location. They also sent a follow up message to ensure all went well on the move. They were very fair on pricing for the distance, time and effort required. I will definitely consider using them again in the future if I am needing any type of moving services.

I told them just my heavy stuff and they left half of it at my home. When we got to the new place I have a mattress that got stuck on the truck latch and tore a 2 foot hole underneath. It doesn't show but it was a $1000 mattress. All that being said the part I felt uncomfortable about was when the first mover arrived early we talked a little bit and said if your tipping us we prefer cash. First I paid almost $800. I didn't know that I had to pay a tip too. I did because I felt pressured to. But I felt it was extremely rude. This was back in March. Give us a frigging invoice to give to our insurance company for reimbursement of your ridiculous fee. 2) Pickup the discarded sofa you left in *my* POD, a violation of rules re the POD & an insult to me. 3) Show up on time. Arriving after 6:00 pm for a 3:00 appointment time is unacceptable. Plus the 2 who came were too exhausted to work as expected. Joshua's helper did the bulk of the work because Joshua was tired after moving his *own* house! 4) Think about placement. No thought was given to placement of my things. I had to keep reminding them to at least leave a path; Joshua didn't seem to grasp that. Then I couldn't get Joshua's attention re my box springs & frame. They needed alignment, so in desperation, I put my age 73 body on the floor to begin aligning my box springs with the bed. Finally done, I had to ask for help straightening the fame within the space. 5). When Pete finally did answer his phone today, the day before the move, and I said lets sync up on details, especially arrival time Pete informed me he had gotten too busy and he has decided he was not going to do the job he agreed with me to do. When I asked at what point did he intend to let me know, he just apologized. Pete's apology does not change that fact that I am in a bind now because of him. No communication from this guy, until he finally answered his phone one day prior to the agreed move date. Pete has left me with a big problem. Pete knew I traveled from out-of-state to be available for this move and Pete didn't have the decency to at least let me know he was going skip out like that. Also of note, Pete does not answer his phone with "Northside Moving" or similar, just "hello". In retrospect, the signs were there; I just didn't read them correctly. I hope you don't make the same mistake or reward this type of business practice/customer service.
