Workhorse was founded in early 2025 by a group of local guys with some spare time, a few pickup trucks, and a shared goal: to do good in the community—and do it without charging an arm and a leg.
The idea came after one of our founders had to move and was shocked by how expensive it had become. That sparked a conversation: Why is it so costly to get a few good hands and some wheels to help you out? We figured there had to be a better way—and if no one else was doing it, we would.
Growing up, our parents always volunteered us to help move furniture for friends, family, neighbors—basically anyone within a three-house radius. Now we’re doing the same thing... just with a little more muscle and a lot more organization. We believe moving should be a valued service—but one that doesn’t break the bank. And having local people helping local people? That’s the way it should be.
Workhorse is here to make moving and junk removal simpler, more affordable, and a little more neighborly.
Meet the Business Owner: John D.
I started Workhorse in early 2025 after helping a friend move and realizing just how expensive and stressful the whole process can be. I’ve always been the guy who gets called when someone needs a hand moving furniture, loading a truck, or clearing out a garage—and I know I’m not the only one. There are plenty of hardworking young men around town who’ve done the same, usually for free, and often with a smile.
That’s when the idea hit me: what if we turned that neighborly effort into a reliable, affordable service for the whole community?
So I got together with a few like-minded friends, all local, all with trucks and a willingness to work—and Workhorse was born. We’re not here to overcharge or overcomplicate. We’re here to help people out, do honest work, and make moving and junk removal a little more human, a little less stressful, and a lot more affordable.
