I recently purchased a new Kitchenaide dishwasher. I paid to have it delivered and installed, I bought the extra installation kit, I paid to have the old dishwasher hauled away. I paid almost $1300 for a midline dishwasher, not top of the line. The installers came a little after 8 on Friday morning. They looked at the old dishwasher and said they could not install the new one. They didn't give me any specific reason why except that they couldn't do it. I asked them why they were here. They said they were there to uninstall and that someone else would come and install. Very confusing to me. They didn't know when the next team would come. I told them to just leave. The next team came around 10 with the new dishwasher, they installed it but wouldn't take the old dishwasher away. They said I didn't pay for that service. I showed him on the invoice that I had. He lied and said someone else would come and pick it up later that day. No one came to get the dishwasher. I didn't bother to call. I have called Best Buy before and been sent into a maze of holds or been forced to speak to AI. I went back to the store and talked to customer service. The girl at the front desk was very friendly, sympathetic and helpful. She got on the computer and escalated our order, it took her over 30 minutes to do this. She said someone would pick up the dishwasher on Saturday, that they would call first. Well the dishwasher is still sitting in my front entry. I'm pretty disappointed with Best Buy.

Doing research, I found shops online that you could mail your phone to and they had the best pricing. My problem with that, was being without my phone for 7-10 days. When I started looking around on yelp, many shops had great reviews, but their prices were ridiculous. You can buy a battery for $25 on eBay or Amazon, it's a 30-minute service, So anyone charging you 3 figures is ripping you off. Especially when you consider as a business, you probably buy batteries by the dozen and probably pay closer to $15 each. Service took 45 minutes, cost me $80. I didn't have to mail anything or go without my phone for a week. Honestly, I only have one knock for these guys, they don't appear to want you in the store. I would have much rather liked to take a seat and wait for my device than be booted and asked to come back in 40 minutes. Funny enough, I had just grabbed a bite, had I known I couldn't wait, I would have dropped the phone first then grabbed my bite to pass the time. Either way, they get 5 stars. The price and service were as close to flawless as you can expect.

The staff are quirky - the good kind of quirky. They know their stuff and they aren't herding you to buy what they have. Instead I feel like I'm having a conversation with a super knowledgeable enthusiast whose opinions I can trust. I bought my first piece, a Leben amp, and it was everything it was claimed to be. Recently I added a set of Chartwell speakers which have their special charms. Great shops like GHA make you want to return. They dig their music and they treat customers with respect - educating where helpful and never condescending. They lean towards tubes and English hifi, but spend time listening and you'll understand the charm. Prices are fair and trades are welcome and fairly valued.

Most recently, I lost the USB dongle to my keyboard and they replaced it for me without me having to buy a whole new keyboard... Then, I picked up a WebCam from them because the quality of my laptop camera was terrible for meetings... The first one I brought back to my office wouldn't connect at all to my laptop for some reason, though when they tested it at the store it was fine. They still let me swap it out, and the second one was completely glitchy and was throwing wild colors all over my computer screen so I took that one back (and showed them a video of what it was doing on my screen) and they let me swap it out again with no hesitation... Third time was a charm and now I have a great 1080p WebCam for $20! They also have 720p for $10. They have awesome computer equipment, both new and used! It all comes with a 30-day warranty, so no need to hesitate about buying used. I'll keep coming back and will bring my electronics to be recycled here, in addition to purchasing from them to keep stuff out of landfills!
