Margie, the owner went above and beyond texting me thread color photos, and staying in communication.

Unfortunately had a pretty bad experience here recently that ensures I won't be returning. I have…read morebeen getting pants hemmed here for a few years now, and they've been fine. I don't feel like it's anything stellar but it's close to my house and convenient. Payment is required upfront before the service, which I don't like at all and I think is a pretty bad standard for a tailor, paying before you see the outcome of the service. I brought in a pair of athletic pants a couple weeks ago for a simple hem, and when I got home I noticed they had awful iron burns on the bottoms, I hadn't noticed when I picked them up as they were folded on a hanger with the one side that was okay facing out. These are completely sold out pants that were pretty hard to get in the first place and I was super upset. Went back in and she admitted they were iron burns and sometimes the iron is too hot, and offered to pay the price of the hem back. I was still pretty upset by this, as I took a perfect pair of $70 pants in and came out with horribly burnt ones. They're wearable, but it looks awful and is noticeable. My boyfriend went back and talked to her knowing I was so upset, to see what else she could do, and she insisted the pants couldn't be $70, he showed her the receipt and she told him to come back the next day for a refund in cash when she'd have it. She ended up giving half the cost of the pants back. My problem is that the iron burns were incredibly bad, for her to not have noticed them as she was ironing and mention it to me when I went back in for pick up is concerning, as it either shows a lack of attention to detail as she's working or that she was hoping I just wouldn't notice, which is pretty upsetting. These are very obvious, and anyone ironing the pants should have immediately seen them while ironing. They're in multiple places and the marks don't match up, showing that they were burnt and then the iron was moved and they were burnt again, it didn't stop after the first burn. I also don't at all like that she told my boyfriend she'd provide a refund and then gave half when we went back to pick them up, it just felt crappy and like she was trying to backtrack and not make it fully right like she had sounded like she was going to do the day before. If she had told him she'd pay half upfront and that was agreed on I'd be totally fine, but she indicated she'd be providing a full refund, which I think would be a good business practice, and is something a business I'd want to support would do. This just felt like she was trying to make it go away with the bare minimum, and like her mistake was somehow an inconvenience for her to fix. I'm just honestly very disappointed, and now if the pants do come back in stock and I can repurchase I don't even have the full cost back to do so, I'll still be out half the price trying to just end up with what I had before I took these in to this shop (a non burned pair). There are just way too many red flags here for me to ever want to return to this shop. If you want non burned clothes and want to support a business who doesn't act like their mistakes are an inconvenience to fix, and one who will make things fully right when they mess up, stay away from this shop.

The Wedding Seamstress - This dress was 3 sizes too big. Also had some holes that needed mending and zipper issues. Look at how fabulous it looked!

I can't say enough good things about the professional and talented seamstress who altered my…read morewedding dress. Recommended by Dani West, their service was top-notch from start to finish. My dress was heavily beaded and required significant work, including being taken in, hemmed, and a bustle for my first dance. The team handled it all with incredible skill and professionalism. The process was seamless and efficient. During my first visit, I tried on the dress, received a clear pricing estimate, and paid in full to drop it off. They immediately started working on the bustle so they could handle the hemming and final bustling in the next appointment. They even used a body scanner to get my exact measurements, which speaks to their precision and modern approach. I only needed three visits total, with the final one being just for pickup. This efficiency was a huge relief during the busy wedding planning process. Their professionalism and willingness to answer all my questions made me feel confident and at ease. If you're looking for a reliable and expert seamstress for your wedding dress, I highly recommend them.

I had a very good experience with Wedding Seamstress! I had a floor length ballgown with a large…read moretrain that they managed to bustle it so it looked lovely! They also added a large bow in the back which looked great. I went for 3 fittings over the course of a 6 months, so they could make sure the dress looked good as we got closer to wedding day. I thought they did a fabulous job with the alterations but communication between appointments was a little spotty. Twice, I was given instructions to communicate via text (I assume with the owner) but no one replied and I had to follow up days later. Not the worst, but definitely frustrating when you have a wedding to-do list a million miles long. Back to the positives - they gave very great instructions on how to bustle. On final fitting day, I brought a bridesmaid and a seamstress walked her through how to bustle. The bustle was complicated since I had a large dress, so the demonstration was wonderful. They also provided written in instructions in case we forgot. Day of the wedding- my dress was bustled without a hitch! I am so thankful for their professionalism in that regard. I would choose the Wedding Seamstress again for professional alterations.

Totally ignored my request for work on clothes, but responded to my inquiry for classes. Whatever, thought that'd be good. Made an appointment, over agonizingly slow email responses, a month out for in person instructions, and was totally looking forward to it- she gave me a laundry list of things to buy for the session, went to Recreative and bought them- then she cancelled 40 minutes before the appointment due to "a family emergency". Wrote her 8 days later, offering sympathy and asking to reschedule, and still haven't heard back from her. It's been over a month. She seems flakey. She probably shouldn't have a professional profile on Google and just do her thing when available, on Craigslist. Look for classes elsewhere.

Maullie is a poor communicator, extremely unprofessional, and not reliable. Strongly recommend…read moreavoiding and instead seeking out a professional tailor. After she had my pants for a full month (for simple alterations) she texted me 17 hours before I was supposed to pick them up to tell me they were not done and that she needed two more weeks. I expressed my disappointment and she responded defensively then "politely declined" my "project." Her excuse was that her sewing machine pedal broke weeks prior and that it was supposed to be coming in the mail "any day now." This of course would be reasonable if she would have communicated in a timely manner, which she did not. This would also be understandable if she simply apologized and took responsibility for her mistake, which she also did not. The quality of her work nor her prices are enough to justify the cons of choosing Maullie over a brick and mortar tailor with employees that treat customers with respect and communicate like adults.
